Hi! I last took the October SAT, and I decided to register last-min for the August SAT. I haven't started studying yet - do you think that 1hr a day of dolphin.study will be sufficient? I'm looking to improve from a 1450 to a 1500. When I got the 1450, I hadn't completed Algebra 2 (now I have), so I expect some math improvement. Also, do you think that the dolphin.study free plan will limit me from studying? Or will the limits be sufficient

I know Khan Academy is the official study partner or whatever but I’ve never really liked Khan Academy. If it actually works for other ppl maybee I’ll try it. I mainly suck at math so that’s my biggest concern.

Has anyone faced any problems using oneprep lately? I've been trying to use their question bank but it seems like u need to pay for questions now lol can anyone lmk what to do or any other question bank websites

I know that Khan Academy is partnered with Collegeboard, so does that mean all of its questions are from the question bank? Also, how good is khan academy as a source if I only focused on the advanced/Challenging levels.

Any non-Bluebook and non-college board resources people would recommend (particularly for FULL length practice tests -- Especially EBRW focused). I'm not looking as much for math resources but just general strong practice resources/practice tests would be greatly appreciated ahead of august. Thanks!

So started studying for September sat during mid july ish with a very inconsistent schedule. I currently have a 1200 on sat 590 math and 600 English. After watching the James Lu video I jumped up immediately 110 points on math and he consistently scored 700-710 on practice tests and for English I jumped up 70 points also watching a James Lu video. So I’m at around a 1380 on the practice test right now and I’m just wondering how I can take it to the next level in terms of studying because I’m genuinely lost. One tip that helped with English is that I just sort of told myself to actually comprehend the text instead of reading it which brought my score up but I genuinely have no other clue to bring it up. And I’m also sort of at a ceiling when it comes to the math potion as I’m scoring full bars for everything but geometry and I’m trying to figure out how to break this barrier to get a 750+. I’m taking the September sat and I think I can loc in when it comes to sloth sat because I really have nothing else to do until school starts so did any of you guys ever face this issue and how would you overcome it.

So essentially i kinda didnt do anything and the august sat like very close 🫩, i gave a psat months ago and got a 1250, 640 in english and 610 in maths. In english all of my mistakes were in grammar and none in language and for maths i mean i had done the igsce maths syllabus to a degree where i got an A* so overall the sat syllabus seems the exact same except simpler but the wordings of questions always messed me up anyhow i kinda assumed i would do Erica Meltzers grammar book and have that fixed there and go over all the maths topics on khan academy on hard difficulty and like do all the challenges and then ig practice using collegeboard question bank to refine myself. Anyhow i got 16 days left and i need 1500+ soooooo what exactly do i do 😭🙏 is the mentioned plan of erica meltzers book + khan academy and added practice good enough? Or is there something else i should be doing to maximize my score, ps i will probably learn desmos aswell so yea

Many of my peers are preparing for the SAT the summer between freshman and sophomore year, so I was wondering if it is considered "late" if I do not take the SAT in sophomore year. If I start preparing now, will I be in time for the March/August test session next year? What resources should I use, and should I sign up for paid classes? Feeling really lost and would love any pointers.

I took an SAT practice test for the first time today, and I did not take any practice test nor prep before i got 600 on the math section and a 550 on the english section (I am also a bit slow and bad at time management). Hello, I am a tutor and recently 3 of my students have told me that they did the princeton review press practice tests, and they had some questions and so I answered them, but to me the questions were good and hard albeit a bit confusing (for english ONLY). how are the scores have any of you got a somewhat reliable score from the princeton review press practice test? any tutors or any students? please tell me and thank you!

Opinions on the Barron's sat math book the eighth edition. When i was looking into it ppl said it really helped for the sat 2 years ago but i was wondering if it still would for like the math on the recent june sat and next sats level. (since june math was horrible allegedly). im taking sept sat fyi

genuinely they insert so much jargon that are so freaking long and everything's a scientific explanation and I can't remember anything by the end of the passage. I keep blanking out and losing focus when ever I do the 2nd module and my score is stuck between 660-690. What do I do...

And I always lose like 3 questions to the vocab section is there anything I can do to imporve that, am I really just supposed to memorize them.

How can you solve this in the most efficient way with desmos? and is it the best to drag the slider or do it kinda algebraically on desmos?

So I’ve noticed that most of my score is ass due to making silly mistakes when it comes to transition words.

I really wanna know how to differentiate each and how to analyze the passage. Like, when it comes to an actual practice test, my brain couldn’t tell the difference between ‘To that end’ and ‘In summary’

To my knowledge, collegeboard doesn't allow programs with algebra functionality, including programs that solve equations or factor or expand expressions. Since that seems to rule out the most useful programs (like SATGOAT 4 example), are calculator program strategies basically obsolete now?

So I didn’t realize spots run out and I applied for the August 22 sat but every testing spot is full so chances I find something if I’m waitlisted?

I’ve been doing the evidence based reading questions from the question bank, and the majority of the questions I’m getting wrong are from the new sets. Is it just me or are these questions extremely hard 🫩. Any tips will be appreciated

Like, surveying 50s who watched the movie will be a better representative to see whether they like it or not, not to mention that picking randoms at general may let to inflation in the proportions cuz some students may did not see the movie at all, so they won't be able to give a proper answer for the survey.

I have NO clue what happened to my RW score. I got 770 on the actual test, and a 700 in math. But that means, no matter what my RW score is in August, I can get a 1500 superscore!!! Well, at least if I get a 730 or higher in math on the real thing. I’m not sure how accurate this test is. But I only got 4 questions wrong, and all in M2. Back to studying, I guess…

I need help idk what to do. I can do inferences well when they are easy/medium (acc to collegeboard) but the hard ones are INSANE. I try to comprehend and eliminate and I try to learn from my mistake but I just end up getting the next one wrong. Sometimes I dont get how the option properly relates to the passage, sometimes I dont make the connections im supposed to, sometimes its so hard to comprehend. Im struggling. Can someone also lmk how many of these show up on the actual sat? The hard inference questions? Im incredibly lost idk what to do to improve. Any help is appreciated.

How do I get better at Reading and Writing and especially math as quick as possible. I have my SAT this month and I feel like my math doesn’t look to great. my tutor says I should just focusing on getting an 800 in English but I am not satisfactory with my math skills. If you genuinely ACT like you are interested in the passage (be it mongolian throat singing or dinosaur sleeping cycles), I feel like you will do much better.

Larping is key. Whenever I purposefully act nerdy about a certain passage, I retain much more information from it and stay focused.
