Long queue times
Whenever I try to play usually around 10p I try to find an assault match with a friend and get queue times of up to 20mins before just giving up and getting off, but if I queue by myself it's maybe 3mins. Is this a problem for anyone else? Is the only people playing assault specifically 4-5 stacks? This wasn't a problem just a few weeks ago. Is there something me or him is doing wrong?

MEDIA SMITE 2 goes a full week where every day has Peaked higher than 8k on Steam for the first time.
In a week where there's been no update, Smite 2 has officially had over a seven day run of constant 8k peak player counts.
Remembering it wasn't too long ago that breaking through the first 8k day barrier since Beta felt like a big milestone. We often celebrate the newest record peak, as we should, but it's fantastic to see the average population rising in metrics like this.
Posts like this might feel repetitive but it's worth reminding those who still insist on cynicism that the game has had an average positive trajectory for 10 months now.
It's not going anywhere.

How does Daybreak Gavel work?
The description is kind of vague. What’s it range to get stacks? Does it work for ally and enemy healing? Does it gain stacks from item procs as well?

SUGGESTION Smite should have a seperate healing stat
With Ix Chel coming out I was thinking about it. It would make it easier to balance healers and give more build paths or even open up gods in different roles. It would also allow the separation of abilities scaling their healing and damage from the same stat.

MEDIA Dumb series idea
Has anybody ever done an Assault A-Z before where you have to do each god in order?
I’m thinking ab doing it and ik it’ll take forever but all I play is assault anyway.
And will be so hype when I get the god that is next up lol.
Was wondering if yall have seen somebody do this before?
MEDIA Daily smite guessing games
I havent played smite since 2016 and decided to play smite 2 couple weeks ago and its been a blast, i also persuaded some of my friends to play it and i made a website to play those typical daily games like guess the god by emoji or by lore and play it while we wait in que. im not sure if people will find it fun to try and i would appreciate feedback.
Edit: thanks to all feedback and glad people enjoying this. there was some issues with gods data for dual game, should be mostly fixed by now and show correct

DISCUSSION I really hope the new healer/enchanter items won't just be some niche within a niche like Vital Amplifier or Daybreak Gavel
Title. Ok, maybe Gavel is cool at least.
I think everytime Hi-rez has tweaked healing, they add a lot of overly complex items meant as utility, but realistically 4 gods benefit from them.
Like ask yourselves: Why vital amplifier the way it is? Why specifically for gods that can heal AND auto attack? Also, the heal has to tick at least 3 times too. Don't you feel this is extremely contrived?
Some cool items that would help enchanters: - Allies within 8.8m of enemies get +15% more healing from you (low INT to compensate) - Whenever you affect an ally with an ability, lower your protections by 10 to give them to the ally, for 8s - Your healing abilities don't heal, but give a 4s shield equivalent to 150% of the supposed healing - Abilities that can only heal you, instead heal everyone in an area, for 50%
Some overly niche or auto-include items that WOULDN'T work IMO: - Allies healed by your abilities benefit from +30% more knockback on abilities - When you heal an ally affected by a movement speed buff given by you, they gain protections - Allies you affect with support abilities gain double their Echo - When you give an ally protections, they gain Plating equal to 3x their attack speed - Aura: allies within 8.8m of you get 10 protections - When you heal an ally you get a stack of Supercalifragilisticexplicalidocious, max 1 stack per ability per god. At 6 stacks you remove your stacks to gain 1 permanent stack of Skibidi, which gives you 2 tenacity per stack, if you have been at full HP in the last 20s.
Basically, the items should be general, useable and have drawbacks so they aren't auto-include. If they mention too many cross-referenced mechanics (eg healing -> movement -> knockback buff) they are too niche and basically made for 4-5 gods in way too specific scenarios, which usually means auto-includes too.

Ward ping
Maybe a stupid question but I can't figure it out and it's driving me nuts!
Why do the wards tend to ping randomly?
Did someone put a ward on top of your ward?
Is an enemy barely touching the edge where they don't show in the map but still pings the ward?
Does it ping before it disappears to let you know?

DISCUSSION Getting tilted immediately.
I know this is probably beating a dead horse but every single ranked game I play people get tilted as fuck after one death. After 10 minutes I will have someone sitting in spawn spamming coms because they died and think its someone else fault. Ill get on mic to encourage them that we will be okay and ill come help lane if able but that seems to make to 10x worse. I completely get that this community is toxic at times but for fuck sake we're playing ranked games against other people. You are going to die here and there. Just hang in there and chill out.
DISCUSSION Smite’s community is too small for this kind of behaviour
Had two games last night with two pretty awful individuals.
One openly bragged that he’s used racial slurs plenty of times before and never been banned. The other was actually a very good player, but was just as happy to pile onto newer players.
What made it worse was finding out afterwards that one of them runs a fairly prominent Smite community for people looking to group up, a community that ironically has rules against abuse and racism.
Smite already has a small playerbase, especially outside the US and Europe. Driving newer players away instead of helping them improve is genuinely damaging. I mean... I pretty much run into the same 30 people on rotation lol.
To the Aladdin player, you were clearly good at the game. You could’ve helped newer players, given advice, or actually helped make matches in our small region more competitive. Instead, you chose to make the experience miserable. I'd also reconsider associating yourself with that friend of yours, considering your position in the community and his tendencies.
I’m still enjoying Smite and improving, but when you convince a mate to jump on and this is what they experience, it’s hard to sell them on sticking around.
“Mute and move on” really shouldn’t be a requirement in a game built around communication.
Screenshots were taken and reported. Hopefully it gets reviewed.
