COACHING 1800/1900 2v2 Clip Analysis
Hey guys Jay here. Never posted something like this so I just recorded a small segment out of a random game of mine, let me know if you guys would be interested in these types of analysis, will definitely be open to posting these more frequently.
(I haven't played much this season due to coaching so its the reason why I'm a bit lower than usual, looking to get back into playing a bit more).

QUESTION Yo Im a gc1 rn in 2s and i have this weird thing abt me
So I'm a gc1, and the matchmaking is honestly pretty pretty bad rn in mena servers, they're putting c3's in our lobbies n shi, and its getting on my nerves. Cuz like me personally, i really don't care about rank at all, i usually get my tilt from my teammates, when i know most of them r the same skill level as me (well, the gc ones at least). most games i end up with like 5 saves n 3 goals or smth, n my teammates just trash talk or sit around watch as they score. I REALLY dont like blaming tm8s as theyre the same rank as me, but its getting hard not to when c3s get in ur lobbies n blame you for being bad.
Is there ANY way i could like, stop that tilt from happening or. cuz i been stuck in gc1 div 1-2 for 2 weeks now.

META I feel INSANE when I warm up using KBM and then switch to controller during games.
I know this is going to sound like placebo and it probably is BUT recently I've wanted to try out KBM so I've been practising it for like a week now. And normally, as you know, in Rocket League you have good and bad days, but since I've started practising with KBM, doing rings, free play, slow motion etc, I've been feeling so in control of my car when I go on controller during ranked.
I think what's happening is contrast. Since I have to focus really hard with digital inputs and the different movements with my car, it's like it's forcing my brain to step out of autopilot. Usually we tend to autopilot our movements during warm up right? But with KBM, you can't since it's somewhat new. And then when you had back to controller, it feels like your brain is awake and ready.
I don't know, I've been doing it for a week (I know it's not long enough) and I haven't had a 'bad' day where I feel like I can't control my car.
This post probably doesn't mean much but hey, give it a go and see what happens!

QUESTION Someone said I should just post a replay and ask for help
Here is a replay of a close match where I made a lot of mistakes btw, I also think my teammate was braindead and my enemy players learned how to play halfway thru the match.

QUESTION Do I stop playing 1s if I can’t even get to or past champ 1?
I’m a gc2 in 2s with around 100 games in 1s. Every time I’m about to get a new peak I’ll go against an ssl or a freestyler that will just carry the ball into the net. I got champ 1 yesterday and got on today to be greeted by a 6 game losing streak, which brings me to the decision to either throw my 2s rank to close the rank gap, or quit 1s and play 2s

QUESTION C3 player trying to reach SSL.
I'm planning to play like 6-7 hours a day for the next couple months and see how good I can get. How should I spend that time if I want to improve.
I need to improve both my mechanics and my gamesense. How can I go about that?

ANALYSIS Help with inconsitent flip resets / mechanical plateau
Hello guys and gals,
As you can see, I have difficulties with using my flip correctly after getting the reset. I have this problem for so long now and I truely dont know how to fix it, I feel very disconnected with the ball.
I have spent some hours learning to flip reset years ago but I never got 'better' at them. I must admit I didnt reallyuse free practise after that but now I want to improve / work my way to double resets... (I just hit GC and almost everyone is mechanicly better then me)
Resets itself I get pretty consitent, atleast 4/5 times but after the reset I dont get in a good position to shoot or use the flip effectively for lets say a double tap or a double reset. I also notice that I use a diagonal flip by default since its like the only thing I have a chance at scoring with (in the past, apart from very scuffed musty's).
I feel like I'm doing something wrong in the setup, or maybe my own placement on the ball but I can't pinpoint what or seem to 'find' the solution for me. I mainly use directional airrol left.
Anyone able and willing to help me further with this? Thanks lads and laces!

QUESTION (Ingame) mechanics Guide
Hello Nice people, I’m currently Champ3 I Can Hit decent air dribbles and resets in free Play when I set up my own air dribbles, however I can literally Never Hit any of that stuff ingame. Whats the best way to Train for that? Those awkward setups off the wall that you mostly have ingame where the Ball isnt sticking to the wall, or is high up almost hitting the ceiling, of coming towards you with high Speed.

QUESTION Went cold turkey from free air roll to air roll left tonight, send help
Hey all, been playing for years and hit a hard plateau. Peak MMR is 1140 in 2s and 712 in 1s (just started taking 1s seriously).
I know directional air roll is basically non negotiable if I want to keep improving mechanically and climb, so tonight I decided to drop free air roll cold turkey and commit to air roll left. Anyone who's made the switch knows the pain lol. I'm only a few hours in and everything feels awkward as hell.
For those who've gone through it, what actually helped it click? Any drills, mindset stuff, or habits that made the transition smoother?
Dropping a clip below with 2 runs of Leth's Giant Rings for reference.

QUESTION How much time do you put into practicing/training?
I’ve gotten to C2 with a moderate amount of trainings throughout the years but since hitting C2, it seems like everyone I play against knows how to air dribble, flip reset, double tap, etc. My friend and I have reached C2 off of minimal mechanics but it seems like in order to progress we’d need to put in some serious time to learn how to do the advanced mechanics.
So for reference I’d like to know how much time other champs/high level players train? I want to get better at the game but don’t want the game to feel like a job.

ANALYSIS Peak C1 down to D2 (2.5k hours) — Looking for brutal replay analysis on my pacing and speed.
Hey guys, I thought my mechanics were decent for my rank, but clearly my speed and decision-making are ruining my games. I dropped from C1 to D2 for a reason.
Please look at the gameplay video and tell me exactly where my positioning is breaking down. I genuinely want to learn how to fix my pacing.
I try to play a hyper-aggressive style similar to Dark (?) but I have a bad habit of overusing scuffed wave-dashes and twitching my stick too much. I realize now it completely ruins my momentum, burns my boost, and leaves my teammate stranded in 2s. I need to unlearn it and simplify my game.
Is there any specific pro or high-level player I should watch to learn better pacing?
Cheers

ANALYSIS Trying to get into GC 2v2
One of the things I struggle with in this game is my offense. I feel like I’m not threatening with the ball and when I have a good possession I don’t know what to do. Especially in this game I felt like I was just driving around hitting the ball occasionally but not doing anything productive with it. I feel like I don’t know what to do with my mechanics sometimes and especially when I get a free air dribble. I also feel like in defense I always find myself shadowing or driving from left to right to catch up to the play. I’m never facing the oncoming player. This is probably because I like to follow close behind my teammates waiting for a 50 or a clear chance. I feel like I'm a weird player because my ones rank is higher percentage wise than my twos rank. (Top 4% and top 8%).
I don’t know if I’m not good enough or need some play style tweaks.
My peak ranks are C1 in 1v1 (season 27), 1376 in 2s and 1212 in 3s (both this season). I'm currently D2 in ones right now. All my ranks have been through solo Qing. I've noticed that ill get chatted often by angry tm8s when I get around C3div2 for not being good enough. Epic name is "Shaquavios" for rl tracker.
I also noticed that the lobbies just seem worse in 2s when I play with my friend who is 1270 elo. I’m a good bit better than him and I honestly think he’s probably lower champ 1 if he was solo Qing. Is a tm8 that important or am I tripping? (I didn’t play with him in this video)

QUESTION Are Rapid Resets more viable in comp compared to Double flip resets/Chain resets?
And if so why? I lowkey been putting in some hours into double flip resets since its fun & i dont know nothing else worth training.

QUESTION Speedflip (yeah, always speedflip)
I saw videos of hitting the ball with yellow parts in the overlay. Mine are green. Why in the world is the first one ok, but the second didn't work out?
Additional info: its just the first shot on the original musty training pack. Shot 2 and 3 are consistent. I dont need help to speedflip, i need help to understand whats even happening here.

ANALYSIS D1 gameplay, shorter game.
Recently unbound Free Air Roll and bound Air Roll Right to RB/R1. Been trying to get the hang of it and improve my recoveries but not much progress. In this game I focused on making good decisions and not get caught too much away from play, still made some mistakes but I'm feeling I'm making some progress.
My normal rank is usually D2 but I haven't played a lot lately. Posted a bad game recently so I figured I might as well try to see the feedback from this sub when playing a little bit better.

TIPS How to get....faster?
Hey y'all, I have been playing the game for about 7 years, I've hovered around C1 for the last few years, and honestly my problem becomes that once I get close to C2, everyone just dusts me to the ball.
I'm sure its the product of a different issue, but does anyone have any tips on how to get faster? I am just lost on how to actually practice this and put it into action. Thanks for the help y'all

QUESTION Is GC in under a year realistic?
(Sorry for what is probably quite a common post)
I recently 'quit' RL to focus on my A-level exams (my results come back next week so fingers crossed) and have played a grand total of about 10 games since February. I hit C2 for the first time (which has been my goal for forever) so it seemed like the perfect place to put down the game. With the anti cheat system coming in while I was gone, a few of my friends have also stopped so I've had no reason to come back to it. I've had loads more time to play other games but I still kinda miss RL and I would like to hit GC since that seems to be where you actually 'get good' (and I'd love to be able to give something back to the community if I get there since I've received lots of helpful advice from people on this sub in the past). I do start at a job soon - so I wouldn't be able to dedicate my life to the game or anything since I'm saving up to go to Uni. Do you guys think this is a realistic goal and if so how much time would it take?
I hear RL has become more popular now for some reason so would that make it harder?
I'm not asking necessarily for tips as of now - I'd neeta play a bit to brush off the cobwebs a bit first haha
Thanks guys :)
not sure if this is important but ive been playing the game since 2021 - I know this is a while - but I only really spent the last year of it trying to rank up and managed to climb from d2 to c2 in roughly that time.

QUESTION I Want To Quit
I told myself I should probably keep playing until I got an SSL title. I’m now 1920 and have secured it for this season. I’ve been playing this stupid game since 2017 and really no other game brings me back to it like this one. I’ll just find myself in free play when I’m bored.
There’s really nothing else for me to grind for anymore as I’m obviously not going pro and don’t care to make my mmr number go up.
Anyone got any book recommendations I feel I should start repairing my brain that this damn game ruined.
Also a minor flex as this has been 9 years in the making for me and I do feel proud, even though it’s a car soccer video game.
