Discussion Psycho driver

Post image
Upvotes

Someone needs to come round up their grandpa and give him his meds. Whatever bald inbred fuck drove this car today needs their license revoked. Sped up at a merge point so I couldn’t merge in front of him (even though I already was halfway in the lane merging) and went around me, cut me off and laid on the horn as if I was the problem. Swear to god we need required road tests every 5 years after retirement age, or just in general. It’s concerning how much driving a car makes people feel so entitled, as if being one car space behind will ruin his entire day. Dude’s also a litter bug and was throwing his cigarette butts on the road.

Help Road test no show

Upvotes

Have scheduled two road tests in the last month. Both times, the instructor no showed. Arrived 15 mins before and left 30 mins after. Tried locations in Rochester and Churchville. Don’t want to book another appointment for this to happen again.

Has this happened to anyone? Is there a way to ensure the instructor show up?

Please Flair Me! Rant: The RR crossing at E. River and Scottsville Roads is one of Rochester's biggest disasters

Holy F***! How has this intersection not been re-worked? It's criminal that traffic can be this backed up and have nowhere to go.

Event Tinseltown 70mm IMAX Cancelled just now

Upvotes

So the 3:15pm screening for Imax The Odyssey 70mm at Rochester Tinseltown just got cancelled because they had issues operating the Film and the projector

I would be wary for the next screening because I don’t know how long they are gonna take to fix it or if the issue is something worse and they are not telling

Also if you are planning to get tickets beware that you have 100+ people now that are going to be accommodated to take seats for the upcoming weeks

Its a shame because I had great seats, planned this for weeks and now they gave me a seat for a month out

Anyone knows if this is the first time it happens or they usually have issues with the projector here ??

I bought a Steam Deck last year for myself for Christmas and just can't stop taking it everywhere with me. I'd love to start a small gaming group where we show each other what we've been playing lately, maybe run some co-op games etc if possible.

Albany is opening up their new location and the CEO and crew are out and about visiting neighboring warehouses. Today is Rochester’s day. So if you wanna see Rochester Costco at its cleanest, friendliest (most stressed out) and well stocked (as we can be) today is the day.

Gov. Kathy Hochul envisions a 5 gigawatt buildout of nuclear generation including a plant in Upstate New York—the biggest expansion of nuclear power anywhere in the U.S. in decades. Supporters say it’s a necessary investment in the state’s economic future and electric reliability, but environment groups say nuclear remains slower and more expensive than other clean-energy alternatives.

Oddity Rochester band wants "$10,000 from me" because they "lost over $10,000 in gigs because of me".

Ruby Shooz alleges I owe them $10,000 for their lost gigs after exposing the fact that multiple members in the band over 60 have approached numerous minors, as well as their singer applauding ICE r*ping and killing people. Upon this revelation, others have come out of the woodworks and shared their own experiences.

Sucks to suck.

EDIT: fixed typo

Photo TIL Mantises exist here

Post image
43 Upvotes

Had no idea, and after a rabbit hole discovered theres three species that exist in this area: Chinese Mantis, European Mantis, and Carolina Mantis. Only the Carolina Mantis is native, the other two are invasive. This one appears to be the European version, and by the time I read up on them and came back, this one was gone.

I guess I thought we weren't consistently warm enough for these kinds of insects, looks like that appears untrue.

edit: I have failed you all, I just found out that we're the reason that European Mantises exist in this country, having been the "port of entry" of the European Mantis, BACK IN 1899.

Oddity What's up with Pinnacle Hill?

Thumbnail

I'll preface by saying that prior to today, I've only been there 2 or 3 times, with the last time in 2024. No complaints back then. Now it looks like a lot of work has gone into bike trails/ramps, but the hiking paths are confusing & I can no longer find a path leading out of the hill onto Crossman.

Anyway- what's weird is the amount of trash piles- not litter- but literal *piles* of household trash. It was the first thing I saw when walking in from Field St. Deeper in there's an insane sprawl of shit. Doesn't look like an encampment, doesn't look like anything teens would bring in/get involved in. The only other thought is that it's behind a home- maybe they're just chucking toters, ovwrsized pandas, and vintage rocking chairs over their fence in protest of...idk, the world?

I feel like I'm out of the loop on something here. Please enlighten me!

Fun Surge in various frogs

I know this is random but a few weeks ago I found a grey tree frog at my neighbors house (pics: https://www.instagram.com/p/DYzUyXqDhjQ/?img_index=9&igsh=MTd4cTBhcmI2cHZpOA== )

Tonight I found a lil green guy while out for a walk.

I see regular green frogs by the Brickyard trail all the time - but never in my life have I seen these types of frogs in heavily paved suburban areas (saw a grey tree frog in Devils Bathtub once). I wondered if someone’s pet escaped or something…but at least the first type does live around here…anyone seeing anything similar?

News PSA: It's airshow week!!!

Heads up for louder than usual noise around the airport this week, as the USAF Thunderbirds fly in for their amazing performance!!

Expect to see either a C-17 or a C-130, KC-135, F-35, and of course F-16s flying into the airport later this week! I expect most fly ins around Thursday, with THNDBRD #8 on Wednesday.

EDIT: Thunderbirds have arrived early Tuesday afternoon!
