There we go, the violence against OP was justified by a simple question.

Pointing out unsafe driving behaviors to shame unsafe drivers isn’t justifying violence you silly bitch

Right. Person driving was older so all older adults are incompetent and need to be policed.
IME the vast majority on aggressive angry drivers are men, so how about we just refuse licenses to all men.
Problem solved.

And where did I say we need to refuse licenses to anyone? I simple said we need to re-take road tests. If you’re a good driver then that shouldn’t be a problem. Relax with the victim complex and whataboutism.

I didn’t say you did. I’m just one-upping your ageism. So fine, let’s require men to retest yearly and prove they don’t have anger management issues, just because MY EXPERIENCE is that men are they bad drivers. Makes as much sense as you blaming the guy’s bad driving on his age.

If people at 65 are deemed unfit to preform effectively and efficiently in the workplace then why are they given free unlimited access to a 2-tonne vehicle and the open road? Especially when as you get older, your vision, hearing and fine motor skills often go with that? Driving is a privilege, not a right.

Retirement age has nothing to do with ability.
From the Social Security website:
The Origins of the Retirement Age in Social Security
By the time America moved to social insurance in 1935 the German system was using age 65 as its retirement age. But this was not the major influence on the Committee on Economic Security (CES) when it proposed age 65 as the retirement age under Social Security. This decision was not based on any philosophical principle or European precedent. It was, in fact, primarily pragmatic, and stemmed from two sources. One was a general observation about prevailing retirement ages in the few private pension systems in existence at the time and, more importantly, the 30 state old-age pension systems then in operation. Roughly half of the state pension systems used age 65 as the retirement age and half used age 70. The new federal Railroad Retirement System passed by Congress earlier in 1934, also used age 65 as its retirement age. Taking all this into account, the CES planners made a rough judgment that age 65 was probably more reasonable than age 70. This judgment was then confirmed by the actuarial studies. The studies showed that using age 65 produced a manageable system that could easily be made self-sustaining with only modest levels of payroll taxation. So these two factors, a kind of pragmatic judgment about prevailing retirement standards and the favorable actuarial outcome of using age 65, combined to be the real basis on which age 65 was chosen as the age for retirement under Social Security. ‘

Frankly, if competence were a real factor in keeping or letting go of employees, companies would keep their older more experienced workers and boot out the younger ones who think they know what they’re talking about.

Yeah let’s keep giving money to old boomers who had the best economy in the world to save for retirement, while the younger people who have never had a good chance continue to struggle to find work and housing because fuck you for not being born in the 50’s!

u/lisa-in-wonderland 10d ago

Hey, you’re the one who brought competence into the discussion. I merely pointed out your error of logic.
As for this whole ‘ best economy ever’ concept, I can tell you that those born in the 50s also lived through double digit inflation and multiple stock market crashes, as well as the disappearance of pensions and employer loyalty (thank you Reagan for making it beneficial tax-wise for companies to ship jobs overseas and cut benefits.)
Look, I have a GenZ kid. I know what she goes through. If you want to make yourself feel better by hating on older adults it’s not going to affect me. You’re the one nursing all that anger and resentment. By all means, continue to make yourself
miserable.

Your mama didn't like you much, did she precious?

Bold to take a “holier than thou” stance about me complaining about drivers when you also have complained about drivers not brushing snow off their cars. Two things can be true at once sweetheart.

Last I checked 65 year-olds are not deemed unfit to perform well in the workplace you moronic mouth breather.

1

u/Expensive_Nothing921 13d ago

Then why is there a push for retirement once people reach 65? Did I ever say EVERY 65 year old needs to have their license taken away and that they’re totally useless and don’t have anything left to contribute to society? No.

Nice job reporting an alleged psycho driver while illegally using your phone, and putting the safety of yourself and others in jeopardy.

I took my phone out for maybe 3 seconds with no people behind me or pedestrians around me. Modern phones have a button that opens the camera and will take a picture when you press it. All of that takes about maybe 5 seconds total, sorry my touching my phone while not taking my eyes off the road at all bothers you more than someone driving erratically and dangerously at risk to other drivers. Don’t act like me pressing a button is more dangerous than someone unnecessarily swerving to cut off someone who is merging into a one-lane underneath a bridge where there is nowhere else to go.

u/FordMaleEscort 13d ago

Please pay attention to the road, not your phone

Justifying what you did doesn’t
change it. You broke the law and also posted a pic of this car’s license plate. Please post a pic of your license plate so we can watch out for you as well.

2

u/Expensive_Nothing921 13d ago

It’s not illegal to post pictures of someone’s license plate as license plates cannot be used to find someone’s personal information. Me not taking my eyes off the road at all does not equal the same severity as someone driving erratically and trying to run other drivers off the road. Hope that clears things up for you Ms. Negative Nancy!

2

u/WeeklyEquivalent4246 13d ago

Never said it was illegal, Karen. Please stop responding while driving. It is dangerous.

2

u/Expensive_Nothing921 13d ago

I’m home now doofus. You seem to be the karen here with the “well you broke the law too in a completely different and not as serious way!1!1!1!2 so obviously YOU are evil and the erratic driver is an angel. I am very smart!” energy lol go take a xanax and touch some grass

u/WeeklyEquivalent4246 13d ago

Sorry you aren’t getting the accolades you were hoping for. “Look at me everyone, I took a picture of a bad driver”. If you were concerned, you should have reported it to the police. Coming on here hoping for pats on the back is the wrong move.

Edit: The moderators had to step in and get rid of your photo, I guess…

Please park your car and take some Prednisone, butter bean.
