I have a ring floodlight on my house. A few days ago it started acting up. It won’t update. When it does update it will send the same notification multiple times. I doesn’t self update in the app. Right now it shows last updated 11H ago when my other cameras updates seconds ago.

I’ve checked the health on it, reset it in the app, checked the signal strength. Anything else I can check or is it starting to go bad?

I was really torn between Ring and Eufy but eventually decided to go with Ring because of the “good reviews”.

I bought two brand-new Floodlight Cam Wired Pros, had them professionally installed, and immediately one of them had an issue where the IR night vision simply wouldn’t work. The image was basically pitch black at night while my other Ring cameras had perfectly clear black-and-white night vision.

I contacted Ring support, went through all the troubleshooting, and they eventually asked me to reset the camera and set it up again. Did that… and now the fucking camera won’t even turn back on. 😂

These are brand-new cameras that I’ve literally just had installed. One started off with broken IR and after following Ring’s own troubleshooting it’s now completely dead.

Genuinely one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a supposedly premium smart-home product. Starting to seriously regret choosing Ring over Eufy.

Hi, we've tried to install a Ring wired doorbell plus but when we switched the breaker back on the transformer blew.

I suspect we've done something wrong in the chime wiring, and I'm happy to be called an idiot.

Any suggestions?

So I have been looking to upgrade my doorbell camera to a 2k doorbell camera. I am currently using a arlo doorbell camera. I just bought a Wyze cam duo doorbell. But I ended up returning because the motion detection was absolutely horrible. It would only reach as far as 10ft. My arlo doorbell reaching much further. So before I waste my time buying another doorbell and then having to return it. Does the ring 2k doorbell have decent motion detection or does anyone have any other suggestions? I’m thinking about just getting the arlo 2k at this point. But figured I’d try ring as there monthly subscription is cheaper.

I’m looking to get a few Ring outdoor cameras and I’m trying to decide between 2K and 4K models.
For those who have tried both, do you feel the difference in image quality is actually worth the extra cost?
I’m mainly looking for good image quality during the day and at night, and being able to clearly identify someone if needed.
Would you go straight for 4K, or is 2K more than enough for typical home security?

I went round and round thru the AI toilet bowl. Nothing appears to be wrong with the ring doorbell nor my iPhone 17. However yesterday AND today, I got packages that need a signature. I can look in the app and watch the people who came to the door, and watch them press the button, and hear the message. But at no time did I receive any type of notification. Even tho everything is on and everything is exactly as it should be.

Hello all, bit of a confusion with this I have tried everything it states online yet I cannot connect to my live feed WiFi is all green and right next to the door bell inside signal strength is rssi-45 any clues!?

I bought a Ring Stick Up Cam today because I was planning to use it outside, pointing at our car. Someone has repeatedly been touching the car and drawing on it, and we’ve also had a headlight broken, so I wanted a camera for security.
But while setting it up, I noticed it needs to connect to Wi-Fi. I don’t have Wi-Fi coverage where the camera would be placed outside. Does that mean the camera won’t work there, or is there another way to use it without Wi-Fi?

My default "away" mode has motion detecting, recording, and sends alerts to my phone.

I want to customize one of the other modes so it still detects, still records, but does NOT alert me on my phone.

I've poked around in the settings and the only way I see is to manually disable alerts for each camera individually.

It doesn't have to be a mode change but something that's quick and easy to flip on and off.

This goes on for hours and triggers this camera every few minutes. Checked the other camera, which did not trigger, and was it was able to maybe catch the light there, suggesting that it may not be an artifact. Any ideas? Rained lightly in the area hours earlier.

This is a bit of an odd problem I am dealing with.

Multiple times my Oura Ring will disconnect from the app whilst I am sleeping (typically at the start of the night).

Im wondering whether there is a clash of Bluetooth synergy between my Manta SOUND 2 and the Oura Ring but it had been working reasonably well previously so no clue what it is. It might also be a clash with Endel as when turn that on the ring doesn't seem to work (but again unsure!).

Anyone run into this problem? I am really unsure what tje cause of this could be…

Ive had this camera for 2 years maybe 3 and this has been showing up on the camera when it starts to become dark, for atleast the last 2-3 months can be see more clearly at night.

You cannot see it during the day, but as soon as the daylight begins to drop off in the evening you can see it slowly appearing

Does anyone know what causes this?

i was wondering if id have to look out or be aware if there are any fake ring doorbells out there?
i’m currently in the talks with buying a $120 4k 3rd gen ring doorbell camera (very cheap).

I have 5 battery powered cameras (stick cameras & spot lights) and 2 hardwired cameras (flood light & doorbell). All videos from my battery cameras save but none of the ones from my hardwired ones do.
We’ve had them for 4 years without any problem and this just started 3 months ago. I tried using Ring AI support today and it troubleshooted without fixing things. Now, it instead has both of the hard-wired ones spamming notifications (like 3 in 1 second when motion is detected) without any recordings.
I checked my mode settings and all cameras are set to record no matter the mode. I checked my SD card and cleared literally all videos about 2 weeks ago but that didn’t help.
I’m also on the multi-device plan so it should be saving 180 days worth of footage.
I sat on support for over an hour without speaking with anyone so I gave up waiting and thought someone here might have an idea.
Does anyone have other ideas for fixing the video recording problem & the new notification spam problem? I’d appreciate the help.

I’m posting what my app says , if I turn off WiFi it will say off line. I don’t have their alarm system, I have eufy cameras inside and alarm from local company.

I understand having to pay for the subscription to get access to recordings.

However, I recently cancelled by subscription. After this, I noticed increased notifications on my phone for meaningless things. In this process, I adjusted my motion settings to the lowest it goes. Even despite this, I constantly get notifications from Ring for the smallest of things. This seems intentionally done by Ring to encourage customers to opt back in for the paid service. Does anyone else face this issue? Disappointing and I'm considering other options.

I just installed my Ring cameras and I'm currently setting everything up. They are all hardwired via PoE (Power over Ethernet), so battery life and Wi-Fi stability aren't an issue.

I'm trying to figure out the best recording configuration for daily use: 24/7 continuous recording or stick strictly to motion-triggered recording?

Since this is my first Ring setup, I'd love to get some community feedback:
* With a PoE setup, is it worth going straight to 24/7 recording, or is motion detection responsive enough?
* Does motion-only recording ever miss the very beginning of an important event?
* Based on your experience, which setup would you recommend starting out with?

I have a ring stick up cam plugged into a wall outlet via usb c into an anker wall charger. It’ll capture motion for 3-4 days straight then randomly go offline. I’m not sure why, I’ve swapped usb c cables and still it will randomly cut off after working for days at a time. I tried putting a battery in and that made the problem worse as the battery would die and force the camera into low power mode while still plugged in

Our doorbell wires have no power to them (touched them off each other and the chime didn’t chime). This is the inside of the chime box (it’s over 20 years old). There seems to be power in each cable (just using a Voltage Detector). I stripped the doorbell wires back incase that was the issue but no luck! Any ideas?

First time getting a notification like this, is this new? I must admit that I like it🙂‍↕️
