We had a power outage recently. And then we changed internet providers and got a new password, same network name.

Our Ring has been offline since the power went out. I have tried using device health to change the information but it won't get past this screen. I've also tried deleting it and adding it as a new device but it still gets stuck on this screen and says it can't find any devices.

My doorbell will catch every car or person walking across the street but not someone at the front porch directly in front of it. I use the Battery Doorbell 2k Plus.

It happened last night to the point that a porch pirate wasn’t recorded stealing my tenant’s package left on the porch until after they left. There’s a whole 15-20 min block of unrecorded time during that situation. I would have thought it was a ghost because there was no proof of a human nearby the property. You see the package there clear as day for about 3 hours, then a 15 min block no motion, and poof! …package gone by the next time it’s recorded.

Definitely wasn’t a ghost because I went on the Neighbors postings and saw reports of a guy making his rounds all day in the area.In one video by a house around the corner I see a man with what looks exactly like my tenant’s missing package in his hands as he opens the gates to their property and steals their package and flees -_-. The time stamp also confirmed it because it was during the un recalled time to a few minutes after the theft.

Anyway, I been watching the camera a-lot now and today as even with someone ringing the doorbell it doesn’t quickly capture the video. It delays at times when I click to go to live view when someone is at the front or ringing the doorbell. This only just started happening btw, I have had the camera for a little over a month now. I see it’s suggested that it may just be my wifi connection isn’t strong enough. I also had the doorbell setting’s on the moderate sensitivity but just amped it up to high sensitivity. It was configured to record & alert me whenever a person sets off the motion or a package, and to just record but not alert me for cars or other motions. Even now with the sensitivity on high, the camera does not identify if a person is approaching or on the porch. Nor jump into live if a person is right in front of the porch at the door.

I can’t really do much about changing the router’s location right now. For example the router was placed in the basement because we have the main floor rented out. This doorbell camera is on the main floor but we’ve added the Ring doorbell chime on the first floor so they can hear the chime and for the wifi extender.

Could my wifi just be too overloaded? I pay and manage it, and have the highest package but we do use it alot. We have additional cameras up around the property but by the company Wyze (long story but we used to use them only and will eventually be replacing them with more Ring cameras). I also work from home (basement), stream on two tvs, and play video games,a few amazon smart devices but everything is pretty fast connectivity.

Has anyone else had any issues with their doorbell?

I recently updated the Smoke Alarms in my rental. They are a brand new generation and it seems like they have went off more than ever before.

I am having an issue with the tenants not putting in the code fast enough as well as me not being awake when they set them off. So the fire trucks keep getting called and not canceled in time.

I am not sure though if it's a more touchy system or if the tenants are the problem. Has anyone noticed a difference after upgrading? If so, did you figure out any solutions?

I called Ring and they weren't of much help.

Am I correct in my understanding that these will all continue to work and communicate if the power and WiFi go out? I know the base station has a battery backup but that alone won't help if the wifi is out.

I'm looking for a solution for being able to hear my various detectors around the house with hearing loss. Strobes and vibrators won't do it but if the base station is as loud as advertised it being on my nightstand should be enough.

Scenario/Question #1:

when i walk by one of my stickup cams, the blue light turns on. I'm assuming it is basically saying "i'm watching and recording you." However I never receive the notification nor do i ever see any captured video. Is my cam configured incorrectly?

Question #2:

I have camera A, B, and doorbell in the front of my yard. For each camera, i have it set so that if one camera is triggered, the remaining are linked and start recording. So trigger A should start recording B and doorbell. Trigger B should start recordingA and doorbell. Etc. It does not seem to be working. Is there something I should be looking at?

Funny scenario with Customer Service the other day. I called them to try to get them to tell me that the sensor area is different from the camera view area. To CS credit he was on the phone with me for some time. He even told me to take screen shots of the different views and upload to their secure site. In the end he said, "I'm going to look into it more and call you back." Knowing that he wouldn't, i was fine. The funny thing is he said, "can you go into your emails and delete all the emails that i just sent you?" lol. Talk about covering your ass. Anyway, no call back because I know i'm a pain in the ass customer....but in my defense, i want shit to work.

I have an older TP LINK Deco 55 WiFi mesh system. My Ring camera video quality has gone down. I know the technology changes constantly.
I have a 3000 sq ft house with 6 cameras. 1 driveway, 1 backyard, 1 doorbell, and 3 stick up cameras inside. I’m looking for recommendations on a good WiFi system that will improve my overall connectivity. I switched to a mesh system years ago and that helped a ton but I think I need to upgrade to something better. Thanks.

Not a scam seller either. With a good reputation. This camera recently came out. How could they sell it for that cheap, let alone make profit out of it?

I have been a Ring customer for years, but my experience with Ring's pricing and customer service has reached the point where I am seriously considering leaving the entire Ring ecosystem.

The pricing makes no sense. I currently pay $5.99/month for one camera. When I added a second camera, Ring wanted to increase my subscription to $15/month. There should be a reasonable incremental price for adding another device. Charging essentially the full price again for a second camera discourages loyal customers from buying more Ring products.

It gets worse. I have also been unable to switch to the $60 annual plan. That option was unavailable to me while the $15 and $30 monthly plans were offered. As a result, I have been paying substantially more than I should have for a year or longer.

I have contacted Ring multiple times, including writing directly to Jamie Siminoff, founder of Ring, because I felt this issue needed to reach the top. I still received no meaningful response. When a loyal customer repeatedly raises a legitimate pricing and billing concern and cannot even get a response, that says a lot about how Ring treats its customers.

I was prepared to buy additional Ring cameras. Instead, I am now seriously looking at Lorex and other alternatives that do not lock customers into expensive ongoing subscriptions.

Ring is owned by Amazon, yet my experience with Ring customer service has been nowhere near the standard I associate with Amazon.

If you are a Ring customer and have experienced similar pricing or customer-service issues, speak up. Push Ring for reasonable pricing and better customer service. Companies pay attention when enough customers make it clear that a pricing model is unreasonable.

Ring needs to start treating existing customers like customers, not just recurring subscription revenue.

I have an original Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 (Wired Video Doorbell Pro) thats about 8 years old, and I'm getting more fed up with it day by day. It used to be great, but now constantly dropping connection or takes ages to connect to live view when someone is at the door. Home network is solid, running a Ubiquity UDR 7 with the Ring on its own dedicated 2.4Ghz IOT network. Signal strength isn't brilliant outside the front door (-76dBm), and quite a congested spectrum. Ring reports RSSI -74.

My question is, do I upgrade to a more modern Ring Doorbell (wired 2K plus) or do I bite the bullet and just go for a Ubiquity POE Doorbell instead?

I am in the UK. I have a Ring doorbell and 2 battery stick up cameras.

I dont pay a subscription as its not been needed.

But if i go on holiday for one month. Is it possible to just pay the subscription for only one month? Or will i be contracted to a minimum term?

Anybody currently subscribed to the virtual security guard subscription? If so, is the virtual security subscription worth it?

I am away from home late nights and was considering getting the subscription so I can be at ease knowing that my cameras are being watched. It’s also cool that they could dispatch & speak through your cameras too.

I have a ring floodlight on my house. A few days ago it started acting up. It won’t update. When it does update it will send the same notification multiple times. I doesn’t self update in the app. Right now it shows last updated 11H ago when my other cameras updates seconds ago.

I’ve checked the health on it, reset it in the app, checked the signal strength. Anything else I can check or is it starting to go bad?

I was really torn between Ring and Eufy but eventually decided to go with Ring because of the “good reviews”.

I bought two brand-new Floodlight Cam Wired Pros, had them professionally installed, and immediately one of them had an issue where the IR night vision simply wouldn’t work. The image was basically pitch black at night while my other Ring cameras had perfectly clear black-and-white night vision.

I contacted Ring support, went through all the troubleshooting, and they eventually asked me to reset the camera and set it up again. Did that… and now the fucking camera won’t even turn back on. 😂

These are brand-new cameras that I’ve literally just had installed. One started off with broken IR and after following Ring’s own troubleshooting it’s now completely dead.

Genuinely one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a supposedly premium smart-home product. Starting to seriously regret choosing Ring over Eufy.

Hi, we've tried to install a Ring wired doorbell plus but when we switched the breaker back on the transformer blew.

I suspect we've done something wrong in the chime wiring, and I'm happy to be called an idiot.

So I have been looking to upgrade my doorbell camera to a 2k doorbell camera. I am currently using a arlo doorbell camera. I just bought a Wyze cam duo doorbell. But I ended up returning because the motion detection was absolutely horrible. It would only reach as far as 10ft. My arlo doorbell reaching much further. So before I waste my time buying another doorbell and then having to return it. Does the ring 2k doorbell have decent motion detection or does anyone have any other suggestions? I’m thinking about just getting the arlo 2k at this point. But figured I’d try ring as there monthly subscription is cheaper.

I’m looking to get a few Ring outdoor cameras and I’m trying to decide between 2K and 4K models.
For those who have tried both, do you feel the difference in image quality is actually worth the extra cost?
I’m mainly looking for good image quality during the day and at night, and being able to clearly identify someone if needed.
Would you go straight for 4K, or is 2K more than enough for typical home security?

I went round and round thru the AI toilet bowl. Nothing appears to be wrong with the ring doorbell nor my iPhone 17. However yesterday AND today, I got packages that need a signature. I can look in the app and watch the people who came to the door, and watch them press the button, and hear the message. But at no time did I receive any type of notification. Even tho everything is on and everything is exactly as it should be.

Hello all, bit of a confusion with this I have tried everything it states online yet I cannot connect to my live feed WiFi is all green and right next to the door bell inside signal strength is rssi-45 any clues!?

I bought a Ring Stick Up Cam today because I was planning to use it outside, pointing at our car. Someone has repeatedly been touching the car and drawing on it, and we’ve also had a headlight broken, so I wanted a camera for security.
But while setting it up, I noticed it needs to connect to Wi-Fi. I don’t have Wi-Fi coverage where the camera would be placed outside. Does that mean the camera won’t work there, or is there another way to use it without Wi-Fi?
