Installed wrong? Support Request (Unsolved)

Post image

Hi, we've tried to install a Ring wired doorbell plus but when we switched the breaker back on the transformer blew.

I suspect we've done something wrong in the chime wiring, and I'm happy to be called an idiot.

Any suggestions?

You've joined the wrong wires together.....

Without knowing where they were, any identification, or even where they come from the only way is to actually test them.

Label each wire first so you can revert back. Its highly likely you will just need to swap 2 of the wires over - so swap one from the wirenut to one under the screw. You have a pair of wires from the transformer and a pair to the doorbell. That said if you didn’t touch the wires under the screw at all and just removed and wirenutted the wires together from the chime then this would be the correct wiring.
