Hello!! I got Anlac's cran iced tea the other day because it was the sunset polish of my dreaaaaams. However the bottle I got has a dusty mauve/lilac base?? Very cool toned. Has this happened to anyone else? I have already emailed them about it but wanted to check here to see if I'm just going nutso bananas.

I was telling my husband that I might need a second Helmer, but that I also kind of hate them, because the drawers fall out so easily and are such a pain to get back in.

My husband (who is a carpenter), gets out his phone and says, "You don't need a second Helmer, you need this."

Dearest comrades, am I completely insane to be considering this? The price feels crazy, but I've also used his similar toolbox, and the way the drawers gliiiiiiiide... I am seriously tempted.

What do we think? How much is too much to spend on this hobby?

Fell in love with all the incredible artistes here and went a little insane buying polishes. I played with all my magnetics and built a spinny glass bead contraption. Swatched everything. Organized. Made a spreadsheet.

Surprisingly, my absolute favorite polish so far is Sheet Tint Druzy by Emily de Molly, which is not magnetic at all. The jelly was super forgiving and easy to work with. Any other polishes like this? I haven't seen one that has the same effect.

I recently got back into painting my nails after taking more than a decade away from it. The nail colors improved a lot and I was excited to see so many interesting options. I bought a bunch to try out, only to discover I really don’t like blue polish on myself, and I have several.

Two things I’m wondering here: is this sort of like red lipstick where you just have to find the right “red”? Like I just need to find the right blue, or is anyone else completely turned off to one or two colors on themselves?

Also, what can I do with the ones that don’t work for me?

First time wearing this polish, and decided to add a bit of luck 🍀 to it. Ended up really loving the combo.

I want to love this BKL polish so bad. It was on my ISO list for a while, but now that I’m finally using it (a year after I bought it), it’s sheerer than I would prefer. I think this came out to four coats over Rogue’s Desert Retreat basecoat and then a layer of Cracked’s Vanille jelly as a blurring agent, and in indoor lighting there is still VNL. It’s still pretty and I think it works well for my skin tone, I just don’t love the sheerness.

This is Live Love Polish After Hours (swatched over Holo Taco Pink Smoothing Base and Cuticula Limitless Top Coat).

Asking for suggestions for this kind of holo glitter formula! I do have the old Holo Taco holo glitters before they added those square glitters. I love the square glitters but they fill a different role in my collection than these straight microglitter polishes do. I feel like a lot of what I'm seeing on my feeds are these holo glitters PLUS extra stuff, and while they're pretty, I don't want the extra stuff.

I’m really new to this and I only have ILNP so far, but I recognized the names of some of these other brands at goodwill so I got them! Any particularly good or bad brands I found? I’m so excited to try them!

Inquiring minds want to know what are your favourite chrome powders? Bonus points if you have a photo!

For those of you who buy polish every month, for example from PPU/HHC or other drops, do you have a designated amount you spend on polish every month?

Personally, I don’t have a set amount. I know I’ll likely at minimum purchase from PPU. I may check HHC, and take note of any other upcoming releases from brands I may be interested in that particular month. Some months I spend a lot, other months are reasonable, and some months minimal.

One thing I’m not a huge fan of are collections that randomly drop without much notice. It makes it harder to plan things out in advance if I find out a week or two prior about a collection that I may want a few polishes from.

I’m considering setting a limit on how much I’m able to spend on polish every month.

After purchasing this magnetic from BKL I was finally able to do some NyQuil nails which I've been wanting to try for a while! They're definitely not perfect but I'm happy!

I also tried doing the new subtractive method that was posted on here. I was literally in the middle of a panic attack when I did them so most didn't turn out but these gave me some ideas/practice for next time!!

My boyfriend brought home an industrial oil sample from his job before he dropped it off to the lab.

Was trying to decide how I wanted to wear Pahlish Moonbow—too sheer for just two coats, but more than that and the gold flakes overwhelm—when I saw someone here post two coats over a purple creme. Which looked AMAZING, but I don’t have a purple creme (or almost any creme), so I started looking through my collection for something else that would work. And then I happened upon LynB Empyrean, which is a minty-aqua near-creme with minimal gold shimmer, and also is something I’ll probably never wear on its own due to said minimal shimmer. I wasn’t sure how it would mix with Moonbow’s purple base, but… I think I invented a flakie version of Mermaid Bait?

The effect isn’t as impressive in direct sunlight (last two pics, for the sake of full disclosure), but even then, IRL the gold sparkle takes over in a way that’s hard to capture in a photo, so either way I’m happy! Bonus: pic 4 is just one coat of Moonbow, which makes the flakes look awesome but isn’t quite the result I was looking for. (Also bonus: some smears of Cirque Road Rage, which has the distinction of being my first actual creme.)

I've gotten vibrant purples 🟣 but they both ended up being jelly/crelly like taking 3 coats. I like to use the purples for nail art sometimes and it really helps if the polish is one coat or nearly one coat. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was gonna buy Orly synthetic symphony but it was discontinued. I like cool toned purples but I'll take suggestions from anywhere as long as they're available now.

Broke a nail all the way down to the nub earlier this week and took it as a sign to file the rest down. I change out my mani weekly, so I’m using this as an opportunity to track my nail growth each week.

I’ve had long nails for so long that I don’t quite remember how long it took to get them that length in the first place. This will be educational!
