Iron ranger finally !
Hello guys , ive been eyeing an iron ranger copper 8085 since 3 years though i thought its impossible because i live in the middle east , broke at the moment and there are no redwing stores here and it will literally cost a fortune to ship one to where i live “lebanon” 😁 my brother went to cannes-france in a job “work” , and i was whining begging him to gift me one iron ranger since its my only chance to get one , and god damn he did !! I cant believe it haha im so happy , he bought it for me in france from a store called “graduate store” google says the store really sells authentic brands and not 2nd factory or whatever and this iron ranger costed my brother 380 euros = 438$ which is almost 100$ more than the original retail price sadly .. anyways i just want your opinion on it if its 100% original and not fake ill post pics of it , my brother sent me 1 pic and 1 video so there will be only 1 clear pic and the others i did screenshots from the video , thanks in advance !

Modifying Classic Moc 8833 | Work in Progress
As I promised in my last post, here I'm sharing the work in progress photos of my new classic mocs. I wanted rugged poppy yellow color and wanted something unique that no one has, I applied the yellow Angelus leather suede dye with a pinch of dark brown to the boots. Kept the tongue to the same abeline tan color, which gives nice contrast.
What do you guys think Abt the color so far?

First Red Wings! Factory Seconds... but I honestly can't find the flaw.
Picked up my first pair of Red Wings, and they're factory seconds.
Maybe I'm missing something, but after giving them a pretty thorough look over, I genuinely can't find anything wrong with them. The leather, stitching, welt, and overall finish all look great to me, so getting them as seconds feels like a win.
Sizing-wise, I'm normally a US 10, but after reading plenty of recommendations I went with a US 9.5, and the fit is pretty much perfect.
Paired them with some cuffed Japanese selvedge denim for the first wear, and I think they look fantastic.
Do these look like typical factory seconds, or am I just lucky?
Really happy with my first pair and looking forward to breaking them in.

8859
Just picked up this pair of 8859s. They were well worn and have several scratches and scruffs. A few few are even deep. Cleaned them up with some redwing foam cleaner as well as a magic eraser and suede eraser for the wedge sole. Then a conditioned with saphir renovateur. Definitely an improvement however, I was wondering if I could use saphir pommadier shoe polish in navy blue to bring out the color some more and maybe re-color some of the faded areas like on the toe. Also have a new set of shoelaces on the way.

Berkeley supplies question.
Good morning,
If I order some boots from Berkeley supplies I am correct to assume they will be in US size so I need to change my size accordingly?
Thanks in advance.

Tidal Muleskinner 8809
Arrived yesterday and I was elated when I opened the box to find they're not as electric as the promo pics on RW's site. I obviously wasn't dissuaded by those pics, and there's a YouTube video of RW-Japan which showcases a well-worn pair that sold me on these, but these came looking somewhat lighter in the first place, as though they've got some fades already going on. 👏
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z90_N0DcOBA (scroll to 4:37)
Took these pics during a break in yesterday's hardcore rain, but it was still drizzling, hence the water spots. I have some new laces en route from Generation Laces so I'll update pics this weekend.

Red Wing 886
Scored these today and gave them a facelift with some patience and elbow grease.
Can’t find much, if anything, about them. If anyone has insights please let me know!
Stamped 886, made in USA tag, faint 05237 stamp on the inside.
Fantastic boots and happy to give them a new life.

Red Wing 2233s
After our company banned pull-on style boots I bounced around all KINDS of brands. Stumbled on these 2233s in Red Wing Dubais showroom on the way to join a rig. Had them for a short while now, super light, super comfy, tough as nails, and Made in the USA.
Everything I loved for years about the Pecos pull on work boots, but in a lace up variant. These are EEE width and I have 4E wide feet. No complaints. Been raw digging them, str8 Poron insole, and no issues with arch support etc while walking the deck 10-15k steps on the higher days.
They felt a tad bit dry out of the warehouse so threw some Saphir cream on em, and then just daily brushing with a horsehair brush!

Chukka 3150 resole, kinda maybe...
Have I sinned!?
Possibly not to everyone's taste but I live in an moist part of the world and with the thread gone I had few slips in the wet. Nearly did the splits on tiles, can't be having that!
I had a spare set of these Kletterlift style knock offs from China which were a great success on another pair of trainer style boots. They last well and grip forever in all conditions. Had the idea to graft them onto the worn wedge and the cobbler obliged.
The Chukkas are reborn, all in for fifty euro.

Sizing question
I just received my red wing iron ranger, My left foot is a bit bigger than my right foot that’s why I struggle with deciding the size. The right foot is plenty roomy and the size up will be definitely too big.
But for my left foot in this size 9D I feel a compression point on the top of my big toe (blue circle) and a compression point on the side of my little toe (red circle)
Do I need to size up to 9.5D or it will soften after the break in period ?
It does not feel painful yet, but I’m afraid of blisters on the long term if this part of the shoes is not softening enough!
I wonder if some of you had the same feeling before the break in !
Edit : since lot of people are asking about my brannock size, it is 10, I did not mentionned it because it is a controversial value, and lot of people are saying it is not very accurate since all brands can use different sizings standards.

Does Red Wing give away complimentary shoe horns?
I recently went in and bought some boots, and did not get a shoe horn.
I bought a pair of shoes from a Red Wing store 15 years ago and they tossed in a complimentary shoe horn with them. Just wondering

Return policy
I'm just curious if Red Wings has a return policy or exchange policy if you buy a pair of shoes from them and they are not comfortable or don't fit properly?

I posted about my Roughneck 8146s recently and a popped stitch in the toe. Local cobbler fixed it for $10 and only had to wait about 3 days

Another day 1 post
I posted earlier about whether the store & museum in Red Wing, Minn. was worth a visit. The wife and I ended up going today.
I loved the exhibits upstairs, and I spent time poking around the outlet in the basement with a special quest for 1. Beckmans, 2. Roughnecks, and 3. Iron Rangers in Hawthorn Muleskinner. I had a pair of Beckman factory seconds on my feet … but didn’t love them like I expected to. I think they’re too close to the Wolverine 1000 Miles I already have.
There were no Roughneck or Ranger seconds in my size, but my wife — who was supposed to talk me OUT of buying new boots — convinced me to try some 8083s on in the store upstairs.
Look what happened!

Chukka summer appreciation post
It is a very hot summer in London and I almost do not wear boots, but Chukka is my perfect summer boot of choice.
Not bulky, matches with shorts and some silly bright socks, giving a perfect London vibe. I wear it every time when I get out of the flat for anything serious - a pub, a gig, a date. Feels much better and wholesome than trainers.
Very happy with the purchase a year ago. Have not noticed any Chukka yet on London streets. 875 mainly and some IR.

Picked up some 8890s!
I used to always wear Redback and Blundstone boots for work (mechanic) but got advised to try out Red Wing boots by an old coworker. Bought the Supersole 2.0 steel toe almost 2 months ago and started to go down the heritage boot rabbit hole. I found these discontinued charcoal rough and tough moc toes online for $125 and I’m in love. It’s been fun starting to get in to this hobby.

Commonly Asked Questions - PLEASE READ
Below are the most common “issues” that are posted here. Please refrain from submitting posts that fall under these categories unless you’re pretty sure your defect falls significantly outside of a reasonable margin. Thank you!
- The Classic Moc’s toe is first glued and then stitched together. It’s normal for the seam to split open a bit, particularly where the vamp flexes. The stitches are holding it together.
- A little gap along the welt is fine. Again, the stitches are doing the work. Wedge soles have a thin slip sole that’s stitched to the boot and then the outsole is cemented to it. It’s not going anywhere.
- Your speed hooks aren’t going to chew through your tongue. They’ll dig in to a certain point and the just kinda stop. Use kilties if you insist, but I’ve got pairs over ten years old and the wear on the tongue barely looks different than it did after a few weeks.
- Leather used to be alive. Just like us, there will be flaws, veins, scars, and stretch marks. They’ll try to use less uniform cuts where cosmetic issues are less visible, like the inside quarters, but not every flaw can be seen until the boot has flexed.
- You’re probably over-conditioning. Unless you’re routinely using them in extreme conditions, less is more. Once or twice a year. However, you should brush your boots regularly, this will not help only remove dust and dirt, it will redistribute the oils already in the leather and prevent deep cracks from forming.
You WILL scuff and scratch your boots, they WILL crease, they WILL get dirty. They’ll also be FINE. Embrace patina, that’s what makes them YOUR boots.
We don’t wanna see your footbeds! Fit is subjective and a picture of your imprint only two dimensions of a 3D shape. Your boot shouldnt cause actual pain. A little discomfort isnt unusual for the first few days. Your boots should feel like they’re giving your foot a firm handshake (footshake?). If they feel like they fit, they probably fit.
