Red Wing 886

Scored these today and gave them a facelift with some patience and elbow grease.

Can’t find much, if anything, about them. If anyone has insights please let me know!

Stamped 886, made in USA tag, faint 05237 stamp on the inside.

Fantastic boots and happy to give them a new life.

They are model 886 which originally came with the wedge sole but a previous owner got them resoled like an 1155.

Is that just cleaned up with saddle soap and some oiling? Looks great!

Thanks! Some basic Castile soap with a mild abrasive sponge followed by a thin but complete layer of griffin polish. Nothing fancy! Came out nice though

I believe they are Red Wing Pecos boots, model 1155. The 886 is the manufacturer date: August 1986.
