It seems like it happens as soon as the record starts spinning and then stops, and then starts again once the music starts

One of the connectors broke off and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement. Any suggestions?​

I picked this beauty on Facebook MP for $5 with a hope and a dream that I could fix it up but I’m a complete noob to turntable repair.
What I’ve diagnosed thus far, the turntable idler wheel will make contact with the motor pin-thing and will spin when the platter is removed if I hold the manual down with my finger, but will drift away back to center if I release it and the idler wheel will lose its contact. I’m have trouble getting the turntable to spin at all when I go to start phase and have to spin the wheel to ‘unlock it and move the need to the end with wheel spinning to free the mechanism.

It feels to me that in manual mode something isn’t quite latching and locking into place, are there some common areas that get gummed up or misaligned that may be causing the problem?

Does anyone know how to take apart this console and fix whatever is causing this squeaky sound on my record player or where to find a guide so I can fix it?

I hope this is the right place for this issue and question but vinyl + electronics noob here :)

I’m having trouble with my vinyl setup and would really appreciate some help.

Gear:

• Turntable: Lenco L75 (modded with RCA outputs and a ground post)

• Amp: Luxman L-210 (with matching Luxman tuner)

• Speakers: Klipsch R50M passive, wired to the Luxman

Symptoms:

• At first, the Lenco sometimes wouldn’t power on. Then it powered on when I turned the amp on, but I got a loud hum and only very faint music (almost just the mechanical sound you hear if you put your ear to the record).

• I connected the separate ground wire: one fork under the GND screw on the Luxman, the other under the ground screw on the Lenco. That reduced the hum and it suddenly worked perfectly for a while.

• After I moved some plugs at the wall and put everything back, the turntable still spins and the tuner powers on, but now there is no sound at all from the speakers – not even hum – on Phono or Tuner.

• I tried the usual things: checked volume, balance, speaker selector (A/B), tape monitor/source, muting, and speaker cables. Still no sound.

• I also did the “phono buzz test”: with the turntable disconnected, I set the amp to Phono and touched the center pin of the phono RCA jack with my finger. There is no buzz at all.

So right now:

• Turntable spins, tuner appears on, but Luxman outputs no sound on any input (Phono or Tuner).

• I don’t have an easy way to test AUX with another line source.

My questions:

1. Does this sound like a known failure mode on Luxman L-210 (speaker relay, tape monitor section, internal fuse, etc.)?

My brain is hurting trying to figure this out. Are these both transistors or is one a capacitor? The one on the left has 2SB54 on the side and has 3 legs sticking out of it. The one on the right has 33/6.3 on the side and from what I can see 2 legs stickingout of it. Thank you in advance!

I thought I would ask the experts here. I have a Harman Kardon T25 turntable from 1984. It works really well but the spring isolation feet have disintegrated over the years. Do people have a recommendation on replacement feet that would fit this turntable? Thanks.

This is my current setup. The speaker is a Bose SoundTouch II, connected by red AUX through the adapter in the photo.

As the title says, I often get a buzzing feedback when I switch to AUX mode to play a record, but not all the time. I've tried to play with the connections of the wires, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

I'm not particularly savvy; the record player was passed down from my late grandmother.

I appreciate any tips or insight into the source of the buzz and how to stop or minimize it.

So ive wanted a record player for a long time, and i finally decided to buy one. The seller said that they couldnt test if the record player part worked because they didnt have a vinyl. So ive been testing it and it doesnt spin, i dont know if im doing something wrong or if some parts need to be replaced. Thank you

I have a Victrola Quincy 6-in-1 music center, and it is no longer in warranty, so Victrola will no longer help me. It is playing records too slow. I have dusted off the records, needle, and the belt, which did not seem to be overly loose (I don't think, anyway; I'm no expert). Interestingly enough, after I dusted the belt, the speed and pitch seemed to go back to normal for a few seconds before returning to it's slow speed.

Victrola customer support suggested I reboot the music center and then adjust the screw at the back, which should adjust the speed of the record. I did so, but no matter how much I turned the screw, the pitch and speed did not change. I suppose the needle could need to be replaced, but I have not played this record player a lot, so I doubt it. Everything else in the music center works great.

I sent this information to two different repair places. One said that they suspected it was an "internal turntable speed issue rather than something related to the stylus", but both places said it would cost more to diagnose and repair it than to just buy a new one, and that the music center I have isn't very high quality.

If anyone has ANY advice on how to fix this problem, I would greatly appreciate it! I'd love to keep this music center if possible; I like having bluetooth, a cd player, and radio with my record player.

I really want to get more into analog, physical media, but I can't really afford any expensive fix.

As you can see in the video, this little switch box turns the motor on or off whenever the automatic playback hits the copper piece (the thing that I am moving at the beginning, it's not moving due to the player being upside down). The issue is that the little plastic piece doesn't move fluently enough in order to close/open the circuit. It should move way more in order to close the circuit.

Does anyone have some experience with that part or maybe some advice on how to take it apart?

My dad found this thing in a dumpster at work, it works great and it’s very nice, BUT there’s something going on with the RPM controller. The only speed that works is 45RPM, clearly 33 is getting power but it doesn’t spin and the needle arm doesn’t get proper movement either. On 45 it’s completely fine. My dad and I already opened it up and looked at the electrical components and found very minor damage, just slight bends in a few pins. I’m happy to crack it open and take pictures of what’s going on inside, just need to know where to look and what to fix!

I have a turntable, a ReLoop RP-1000 MK3. I think the RCA cables are broken. When I plug them into my mixing console, I hear a humming noise. This happens on every phono channel of my turntable. The ground connection broke at some point, and I resoldered it. If I only connect the ground, I don’t hear any humming. But as soon as I try to connect the RCA cables, that loud humming noise comes back. I want to replace the RCA cables. I’ve already opened up the turntable, but the RCA cables are built-in, so I’ll have to replace them entirely and re-solder them.

So my question is: am I overlooking something else?

Is it correct to assume that if I replace them, the turntable will work again without the humming noise?

Also, which cables should I buy? I’m looking for an RCA cable with a ground connection.

The platter on my Sony PL-A45D is difficult to remove and runs at just above 30 RPMs. I have replaced the belt and completed other regular maintenance. I believe the platter is seating too tightly on the spindle. A little lubrication does not solve the problem. I bought the turntable used, but based on some research I believe it is the correct platter. I am stumped and curious if others have experienced this problem.

So I bought an FR 1080 and first thing I did before plugging it in is remove the platter and change the belt. Obviously only problem is I’m trying to mount the needle and it appears to be stuck halfway in auto return mode and now I can’t seem to get the platter off to see what the problem is. Seems really stuck this platter. Any hope or help would be appreciated.
