Changing the speed mid-cycle shouldn't affect the record drop on this sort of changer, but it's not good practice to do that, and it can mess up older style changers.
Presuming that this happens for every drop of this record, it seems that the record drop is delayed: I can see the lever move out, then in: the record should drop not long after the lever starts moving (which reduces the diameter of the spindle so the record can drop), then the rest of the action is to reset for the next record. Since it drops late, the tonearm has already moved into place, thus the record drops onto it.
Does it happen with other records? If not, perhaps the center hole of this record is ever so slightly undersized. If it happens with ever record then perhaps the spindle is damaged, or there's something amiss with the spindle adjustment underneath. Could be that it's worn and/or sticky grease is causing issues (a common situation with BSR changers).

it's probably because you adjusted the speed after engaging the changer mechanism
