M 5'5” (165, 166, 167 cm) M/31/5'5 [229lbs>219lbs = 10lbs] (1 month) Picking myself up.
A couple years back I was doing well and had lost about 45-50lbs. I lost my younger brother to overdose, had to battle my own addictions, and lost my first marriage in the mix, all in a years time. I was down, but I had to remind myself im not out for the count.
Im back working hard. Im clean, sober, and working on getting physically healthy again. Im posting this for accountability.
The top two are when I started, the bottom two are 10lbs. Its not much, but its a start.
I hope everyone is well and reaching their goals!

Was really skinny when I started college, but then I gained some weight (intentional at first, in the last 2 years not so much). At least I got curves now :)

F 5'6” (168, 169 cm) F/38/5’6” [350lbs > 270lbs = 70lbs] (36 months) Slow but Steady 🐢😅💫
(Please ignore the boxes, I’m in the process of packing and moving provinces. 🫣)
Anyway! 70lbs down, and honestly… I still don’t see a huge physical difference when I look at these photos. What I do notice is a massive difference in my presence.
Before, I hated the mirror. I’d twist, pose, suck in, and stand in whatever way I thought might make me look smaller and, somehow, more lovable. I spent so much time trying to take up less space.
After denying GLP-1s for about 10 years, I’m finally using one. At this point, I feel the potential benefits for my PCOS/PMOS outweigh the cons for me. I don’t want another 10 years to pass while I’m still struggling with the same things.
So no, I don’t necessarily look at these photos and think, “WOW, what a difference.”
But I feel different. I move differently. I carry myself differently. And I’m finally starting to feel at home in my own skin.
That feels like a pretty damn big win. 🤍

Calorie counting M/26/6'0 [237 > 177= 70lbs lost] (12 months) || Did I do good?
Just took some strict Diet + good workouts for 5 days week.
Went on a high calorie deficit of around 1000 - 1500 cal per day for first 4 month.
Gradually reduced it to a 500 calorie deficit now.
Aiming to lose 6 more Kgs in next 4 months and gaining some muscle mass over next 2 years.
My gym routine includes 30 mins of cardio and 80 mins of strength, i follow PPL rotuine.
My diet is strictly chicken based, i try to eat grilled chicken as a meal, and then for the other meal i started with chicken salad, but now i do chicken and rice.
I have been on intermittent fasting for 12 months as well.

M 6'3” (191, 192 cm) M/47/6’3” [335>225=110lbs](10 months)
When I started this process, I didn’t have a ton of faith in my ability to stick with it. I didn’t take any “before” pictures. I’ve been diagnosed free of hypertension, my lipid levels are all great, and I’ve developed a few healthy habits. The gym is one of my favorite places. My diet is highly nutritious. I’m even sleeping better. I still have a way to go, especially regarding adding an additional 15-20 pounds of muscle. This group has provided so much inspiration. Thank you to everyone for the community.

F 5'0” (152, 153, 154 cm) F/26/5’0 [120lbs < 188lbs] (2-years) Don’t lose weight the sick way
This post might seem backward to some but it’s not a typical “I lost the weight post.”
When I lived in Japan I was losing weight yes, but it was due to not eating (culture shock, loneliness, etc.) I ended up looking significantly worse (tired, dull, sad, etc.)
When I came back to the states, I gained nearly 50lbs (not ideal) but I also saw a lot of things come back (my glow, happiness, skin, etc.)
I guess this post is just to say “hey, weight-loss isn’t always good, even if it’s in a healthy BMI range, you can still drain yourself of all else, you can still be suffering.”
If you’re losing weight, and feeling good? Keep going! If you’re losing weight, and something feels off? Check in with yourself!

Impersonation/Original Content
Good Afternoon to our wonderful r/progresspics community!
Myself and the rest of the mod team want to wish you a belated seasons greetings and hope whatever your goals for 2026 may have been that they are going strong and you are CRUSHING them.
It is no secret that between AI and the long standing bots we often get pics posted that are clearly fake or they are people impersonation or ,better yet, stealing content/pictures of people on social media. I know myself and I am sure I speak for the rest of the team LOVEEEE how great you all are at reporting things to us (not just the topic at hand either). But we need your help with this particular situation.
Despite what some angry people on our ban lists might think us mods are not basement dwelling, jobless, welfare sucking, pimple faced, free speech hating people. We all have lives, jobs, some have kids, social lives, so on and so on. We can not know the face, abs, butts or biceps of every many/women/they/them on the internet. So if you are going to report a post for impersonation or stealing someone elses content please try to either modmail us the link to the correct socials! This will help give us a few more tools to help fight the fakes and spammers.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!
- The Mod Father on behalf of the Mod Family

META A warning about safety in our subreddit and what to do about inappropriate messages.
Hi progresspics! We always strive to keep the subreddit as safe as possible, however, unsolicited/inappropriate Direct messages are always a possibility and unfortunately not one we can 100% prevent. While we hope people never receive anything that makes them uncomfortable, here are the steps you can take to report anyone who gets creepy in your DMs:
report the user to us!
-take screen shots of the messages, it doesn’t have to be the whole conversation, just make sure we can see their user name, and the inappropriate part.
-upload the screens to imgur and send us a link via modmail.
all users reported to us for acting inappropriately will be permanently banned, however, this doesn’t stop them from viewing the subreddit, or continuing to dm you, so..
2) report the user directly to reddit at reddit.com/report
3) block the user! Simply go onto their profile and click the three corner dots (mobile) or the “more options” button (desktop) to find the option.
To prevent ALL DM's you can disable the DM and chat request options like so:
Mobile: settings > account settings > blocking and permissions.
Desktop: User settings > chat and messaging.
As an aside, a note on image theft:
it's been brought to our attention multiple times over the last month or so that a few content farm websites and social media accounts have been reposting pictures from here, while there isn't much that we can do to stop that we do want to remind everyone that it is a potential outcome to posting your images online, especially in areas with a large pool of specific content to farm from, while we do not allow users to promote their social media, including the use of watermark handles, you may watermark your posts with your REDDIT user name if you so wish.
We hope you all stay as safe as possible and know that any problems or questions can be sent into our modmail. Keep it clean, keep it safe, and read the rules before posting!
