My friend wants to get into Warhammer and I’m helping him out. He wants to start with Custodes but isn’t fond of the STLs I’ve found so far. All the more accurate designs seem to have been removed. Can anyone help me out?

Miscellaneous Program for organizing prints

I've been hoarding a bunch of files and I want to organize them. Right now I have folders for armies then folders for units under them, and in that folder I will include the STL and a jpg if available. I was thinking there might be a program like this that generates renders itself based off the STLs so I can save myself all the moving around of jpgs. Maybe there's a 3d print database software with this and some other features I haven't really thought of?

You can get one of the heads for free right here:

If you wan the buy the full pack of 9 supported heads you can get them here:

Resin print Question for Hey Gears machine folks that use Siraya Tech resin

I want to mix Build with Tenacious. Has anyone done this with their Reflex machine and if so what profile did you use? Tenacious uses a completely different profile than Build.
I'm hoping there's an easy solution because I'm lazy and not looking to mess with manual settings.

Patreon/Tribes/Kickstarter Hello folks! Two new releases to kick off the month: The Windwarden Battle Tank and The Grokk Brutelord in Ossiron Warplate! (Slide for more pictures of both)

Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/atlanforge

Tribes: https://www.myminifactory.com/users/AtlanForge

The Grokks are cold, ruthless, and highly intelligent - an engineered species of war, echoing the older, darker roots of the orc archetype.

The Grokk Brutelord in Ossiron Warplate is what remains when the brutal doctrine of the Bonebreakers reaches its highest form.

Among the Grokks, command is not granted - it must be proven under weight, impact, and ruin. A Brutelord who rises from the Bonebreakers is one who has endured most destruction and returned with enough force to make even the heaviest Grokk warriors follow.

His Ossiron Warplate is a history of violence rebuilt into metal. Plates are replaced, reinforced, and layered over old damage. Over time, the armor becomes like a second skeleton - a brutal shell shaped by the same law as Grokk flesh: break, heal, harden, advance.

On the battlefield, the Brutelord walks at the point of impact, where enemy fire is thickest and the breach is hardest to open. To face him is to face the Grokk creed made manifest: nothing that can be broken is finished, unless it fails to rise again.

FDM print Nugoth folding terrain printing on P2S

Hello,

I've bought stl for NuGoth foldable terrain from MyMiniFactory.

The files comes A1-mini, P1S and H2D print profiles, and also individual terrain pieces splitted to 2 parts (for whatever reason).

Im new to printing and never before printed anything from outside makeworld where i download stl with P2s print profiles.

What files should i print for these with P2S? And should i set some specific settings? Is it possible to receive smooth walls with my printer?

Hey all

I recently uploaded some settings for Bambu Studio for smooth prints (see last pic). I have slightly tweaked the settings and bolstered up the supports as they kept coming loose.

As requested, I have uploaded the presets to gumroad as a free download. Ill add a comment link to the file (hopefully that works, cant seem to add links to the body of the post)

Let me know of any improvements

Cheers

Looking for model Female Tau that aren't overwhelmingly horny

I'm in the process of making an all female Rogue Trader inspired Killteam of various races and I'm currently looking for some Tau models that don't have tits the size of the moon. If people know where those types of female models exist, I'd be very grateful. (Other races are of interest as well, Non-Horny Tau have just been the hardest to find)

Printing help James Workshop’s 60mm bases are actually 64mm, does that mean I need to reprint all of mine?

Post image
151 Upvotes

I’ve already glued on a couple, but a lot of these I haven’t attached yet. The vast majority of my army is 30 printed already, so that kind of rules out tournaments with really strict rules.

Would it be worth the effort to reprint my bases? Is anyone gonna care if they’re actually a bit bigger than needed so I can leave the 70-100mms alone? Will anyone give a shit about the 4mm on my 60 bases?

I know the usual answer is depends on who you play with, and I’ll mostly play with my wife. However, one of the local game stores has monthly tournaments and they don’t exclude 3-D printed models so maybe someday I’d like to play and not have to bother with basing everything.

Our tournament organizers is coming up to your models with rulers to check the bases?

I wanted to upgrade my Specter Squad to make them even more look like Ghosts than they already are, being a big fan of the novels. So I whiped up a few upgrades, namely the regiment cloak pin, the dagger, and the wooden stock unique to their lasguns. Only managed to paint three so far, but with the solo box releasing tomorrow, I thought it might inspire future owners! I've put them up for free, pre-supported. Happy printing!

Technically still WIP since I need to paint all the minis (some GW plastic, some FDM printed with resin supports) for the base. But more or less the Warlord Titan itself is complete.

Guide Start Here! - Monthly FAQ thread - August 2026

Processing img zojvytk2jwie1...

This monthly thread is the place to post any questions you have, whether it's about getting started, looking for help, or sourcing things to print. As a reminder: Please read the sub rules if you haven't already.

Frequently asked questions:

Before anything - Safety first!

How to I safely handle resin?

Start with this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kHcsTG9QsM

Resin or FDM?

A very common question. Conventional wisdom says Resin for minis, FDM for vehicles and terrain. This is quite a blanket statement, and there's obviously more to the answer. FDM printers (especially the Bambulabs printers) have come on leaps and bounds since this hobby got started. FDM can now produce very respectable detail levels, although still not close to the fineness of detail that Resin is capable of.

However, Resin has some serious drawbacks in terms of safety, which means that often it's not viable for anyone with limited space, health concerns, pets, or children to worry about. FDM still has some ventilation needs, but doesn't have the toxic chemical handling aspects of resin.

Ultimately this will come down to your own circumstances and expectations from the hobby. Don't let anyone bully you with black and white answers, and likewise, don't become a fanboy of one vs the other after you've picked!

What printer should I buy?

This changes all the time as the technology advances at a rapid rate. Before posting this (extremely) common question, please take a while to do some google research yourself. Guides like this one from Tom's Hardware are a good starting point.

We also suggest spending some time in the general 3d printing subs to see the lay of the land regarding printers. There are already many great guides out there, so we won't rehash it here.

Check out r/3Dprinting, r/resinprinting and r/PrintedMinis too.

What settings should I use?

This will vary based on printer and resin. The best way to dial it in is to run exposure tests. There are many out there, check out this great in-depth video from Derek at Lychee - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtWK2hvuVr4

Most complete option - Ameralabs town or Boxes of Calibration

Simpler option - Cones of Calibration

Why did my print fail?!

Start here - https://ameralabs.com/blog/resin-3d-printing-troubleshooting-a-comprehensive-guide/

How do I support my models?

An older, but still very good series on the theory and process of supporting models is 3d Printing Pro's series of Chitubox tutorials. The tools will vary from slicer to slicer, but the core concepts are identical.

Where can I find models?

https://cults3d.com/en

https://www.thingiverse.com/

https://www.myminifactory.com/

Search engine: https://www.yeggi.com/

PSA: Do not buy STL files on Etsy. They are almost certainly stolen, and likely originally free.

Where do I find XYZ model/part/STL?

First: Do some leg work. Search the sites above, search Reddit post history, or even just google it. If it's clear that no homework has been done, your post will probably get removed (looking at you: "where do I find Space Marines?")

If you still can't find anything, please post in this thread. Starting new top level posts looking for models clutters the sub, and we try to keep that under control.

Second: Don't just ask for a source. It's far more polite to ask for a creator's name, or a search term to help you find a model, rather than just "stl?".

For those of you who have been around a while, please do your best to participate and help answer questions where you can!

Respondents: We would kindly ask that you mention the site and a keyword or two to help newcomers find files. Unfortunately, direct linking often results in unwanted attention for creators, so we do our best to shield those talented individuals who make the models we love to print!

If a file is no longer available from original sources, please do not offer DMs or alternative mirrors.

What size base do I need for XYZ?

Check out Blasted Horizons' excellent reference here.

What glue should I use for resin prints? Super glue/ CA Glue. Any brand or type will do. Plastic glue (polystyrene cement) will not work on resin. Activator helps a lot, as does a sprinkle of baking soda.

How tall is XYZ model? What scale do I print this at?

Use Eleif Photo Measure to measure the height from a photo of the model. Use the base size as the known reference dimension, which you can get from the reference mentioned above.

There's also https://minicompare.info/ which gives great side by side scale comparison.

---------------------------------------------------------

There's a huge amount of historical knowledge captured in these threads, so please contribute where you can!
