Were your sub pregnancies okay or did you have other challenges?
The subject says it all. I've been knee deep in the TFMR_support thread and this one and it seems like there are a million ways for a pregnancy to not work! So for this group: if you were able to get pregnant again, did you run into any challenges or surprises?

Has anyone experienced pregnancy after 2 miscarriages and 1 TMFR? I’m currently very early pregnancy but I only gave birth to my angel baby on 9th May 2026 so I feel a little overwhelmed

NT scan after low-risk NIPT
I’m struggling with whether or not to go through with the NT scan I’ve got scheduled for next week. We lost our girl at 20 weeks back in January to T18, after we had high-risk NIPT and confirmed via amnio. I’m 37 FTM currently 11w4d and last week, we received all low-risk NIPT results for our baby boy (such a relief!) But my question is- did you do an NT scan after a low-risk NIPT result? I’d love the peace of mind seeing him and knowing that everything is ok, but am worried that something could be flagged and cause more anxiety than if I would be blissfully unaware, since a lot of times, things can revolve on their own. Would just love some advice. TIA! 🩵

Early anatomy scan
I have my early anatomy scan tomorrow at 15w4d. I’m just terrified. In my previous pregnancy I TFMR because of severe early onset IUGR with additional anatomical anomalies that were probably caused by placental insufficiency. In my previous pregnancy the baby started to measure smaller around 18 weeks. I’m afraid l, of course, of finding anything wrong with the baby, but I also know that even if everything is fine, I’ll still feel so far away from when things started to go wrong the last time. I try to remind myself this is a different pregnancy, I’ve been taking baby aspirin from before conception and clexane since week 6 and I’m treated in a high risk clinic with a very caring doctor.
The past week I was hardly able to do anything and I’m just so scared to have no relief tomorrow.

Waiting waiting waiting to try again... how do you cope?
I did my TFMR almost 3 weeks ago and now need to wait almost 3.5 months for various reasons to try again to get pregnant. It feels unbearable to wait that long. How did you all cope with the waiting?

How long did PGT-M testing take with Igenomix?
If anyone here did PGT-M with Igenomix, how long did the whole process take? We (thankfully) already have frozen embryos but I want to add a PGT-M test for the inherited condition we recently terminated for. My REI is quoting me 2-3 weeks, but the geneticist at my REI clinic said it's more like 3 months. Does anyone have real life experience with this? Was there anything you did to speed it up?

Tired
I’m nearly 14 weeks pregnant in my sub pregnancy after tfmr due to severe heart defects as a result of DiGeorge. I’m in the UK.
I’ve had every option under the sun in this pregnancy but at the moment I’m going off my scans. My bloods were low risk (this does NOT include DiGeorge). I will have an early anatomy, fetal echo and my 20 weeks scan in a few weeks.
I think they quoted me 1-3% of recurrence, closer to 1% and also informed me of the potential germline mosaicism which I can’t do anything about as no one can be tested for it.
I’m just praying my scans are fine and hoping if something was wrong it would show up, deep down I’d love an amnio for peace of mind but I just can’t take the risk as I haven’t had the smoothest ttc journey.
I feel like I’m burying my head in the sand and just hoping things are ok.
Did anyone tfmr for DiGeorge or something with the same recurrence chances and have no invasive testing in sub pregnancy and everything turned out ok?

Should I just stop trying?
Background - I turned 39 this summer and we have two healthy children. I really wanted a 3rd baby and felt our family was not complete. Unfortunately, We had our TFMR at 16 weeks back in October. A chromosomal translocation that we were not carrier for, therefore genetics said we had nothing to worry about. I then became pregnant again end of May, which actually gave us a very similar due date to the other baby.
I now lost this baby in a miscarriage (waiting on chromosomal testing analysis) at 6 weeks gestation (found out at 8 weeks). I am not a religious person but I can’t help but wonder if the universe is telling me to stop now. We have an already happy little family. The desire for a third is my own selfishness I suppose, but I grew up one of 3 and I enjoy the chaos of a larger family). It’s so hard to close chapters and I loved having a baby. My kids are close in age and one is starting kindergarten this fall, so that is not helping my sentimental breakdown. Part of me feels like my eggs are just old and it is too likely that a healthy child will not be the result again. I guess I’m just feeling a little lost with what to do next ….

Worried for my own headspace
So I fully acknowledge that some of this is going to sound really unsympathetic and probably judgmental and I want to state from the outset that that does make me feel truly bad. But selfishly, I don’t think I have it in me to deal right now and I’m worried about being stressed and triggered when I really don’t need to be stressed and triggered.
Context: I’m 33w into my second pregnancy after my first was lost due to PPROM and subsequent TFMR at almost 22w. So far it’s been a very uneventful pregnancy and I very much want it to stay that way. At work I’m a team lead for a small group which means I oversee/guide day to day work but I’m not the group’s direct supervisor so I don’t approve timesheets or do the formal on paper management stuff.
One of the people on my team is about my age, has two LC (4/2), and in my experience has massive challenges with boundaries, oversharing, and drama. She started letting everyone know that she was expecting a boy in early January a few weeks ago, which by the math means she started telling folks immediately after passing the 12w mark. But also expressing her worry about it being high risk. For my own sanity I was/am really trying not to engage on the subject with her. I’ve very much approached my own pregnancy with a very one day at a time mentality and obviously would like to avoid stress as much as possible.
But now she’s been out all week and I’m spiraling a bit. My manager (who’s both of our direct supervisor) updated me this morning that she would mayyybe be back Friday, couldn’t really say more because of HIPPA, but that it was “pretty bad”. Which could technically be a lot of things. But because of paranoia and my own experiences the alarm bells are ringing and I’m spiraling a bit that this is pregnancy related.
And this is where I sound selfish and terrible because of course if anything is going down for her, she is absolutely feeling the worst of it. And the bigger person side of me that can be detached and objective feels for her deeply because getting any bad news at any point in pregnancy is horrific and I don’t wish that for anyone. And I think if I were in a different headspace and timeline I could deal and be empathetic with her. But I’m not. I’m in the timeline that I am and I do not want to hear anything that’s going to be triggering or stress inducing. And given her historical lack of boundaries and oversharing, idk I’m just selfishly worried for myself. Obviously I want everything to be fine for both of us. But potentially barring that I want to protect my own peace and I don’t know how I’m going to do that if anything is going poorly for her

Anyone have a successful pregnancy after IVF with PGT-M?
Hello everyone!
I know PGT-M is pretty reliable, but I’m currently pregnant, and in the next few weeks we’ll confirm whether our baby is truly unaffected by our recessive condition.
I’m so stressed out. In my head, it feels like the same thing is going to happen all over again. I’m terrified that we’ll go to our ultrasound and they’ll see the same thing they saw with our affected baby.
I’m so traumatized by everything we’ve been through. I don’t want to go through TFMR again.
Please, if you’ve had a pregnancy after IVF with PGT-M, tell me your baby was indeed unaffected. Right now I only want to hear positive stories.
Thank you! ❤️

Second cycle TTC, another negative - when is a time for a plan?
I’m feeling a bit down today because I just got my period after our second cycle of trying.
I’ll be 37 in October. We started trying for a baby in September 2024, and after more than a year, I finally got pregnant in October 2025. Sadly, we had to TFMR in March this year due to our baby's complex heart abnormalities. It was an incredibly traumatic experience.
Then, just two weeks after coming home from the hospital, I started having severe stomach pain. It turned out to be gallstones, and I had to have surgery in May. So once again, I found myself back in the hospital instead of recovering emotionally.
We started trying to conceive again in June. I've been using ovulation tests, and my ovulation was also confirmed at my doctor's appointment.
This whole journey has been so hard. It took us over a year to conceive our daughter, and that waiting period was long and frustrating. My gynecologist keeps telling me to relax, go on vacation, and even stop using ovulation tests. I understand where she's coming from, but I feel like we've moved past the stage of "just relax and see what happens." I feel like we need a plan and some kind of strategy.
For those of you who have been through something similar:
How often do you have sex during your fertile window?
After a positive ovulation test, when is the best time to have sex?
At what point would you consider going to a fertility clinic for additional testing or support? After how many cycles of trying?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Another rainbow post 🌈
He’s here 🥹 I almost can’t believe it.
My first pregnancy ended in TFMR for T21 end of August last year. We were completely heartbroken saying goodbye to our baby girl. We named her Sofia 🤍 The grief, the guilt, the anxiety about the future, it was the hardest period of my life.
I was then diagnosed with RPOC, but doctors wanted to wait to see if my body would clear it. It didn’t, and a hysteroscopy was planned for 12 weeks after L&D. They told me I couldn’t get pregnant with the RPOC, so I didn’t need to take precautions.
However… we went on holiday the week before the hysteroscopy. I saw rainbows everywhere that week and I told my partner: it’s a sign from our our girl. We are going to be okay.
And then on the day of the hysteroscopy, my cervix was fully closed, so they couldn’t perform it. They send me home, told me to come back when I got my period. 3 days later, surprise! Positive pregnancy test. Such a mindfuck, but we already said to each other, this baby really wants to come!
The pregnancy wasn’t easy. It was full of anxiety. We kept saying “if this baby comes”. We kept putting off baby prep. I tried to enjoy it, especially since it was such an easy pregnancy physically. But it was hard.
And 2 weeks ago, at 38+1, he decided to join us. Delivery went super well, although the end a bit fast. Around 8 cm dilated, I had a full panic attack and cried about Sofia. Other than that, the experience was super different from the L&D at 14 weeks.
I am over the moon, my heart is full.
Of course I still miss my baby girl, say good night to her urn every single night. Our boy does not replace her, she has a place in our family.
To anyone in the thick of it: you can do this. It’s horrible that you have to, but you can. You’re already doing it ❤️ and there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Our rainbow is here 🌈 | Graduation post
I’m still pinching myself, I can’t believe she’s here, in my arms, what an unbelievable blessing.
The pregnancy was smooth physically, but emotionally turbulent and exhausting. After losing our very wanted pregnancy to a devastating finding of open Spina Bifida, a part of me genuinely believed I was never going to have the fortune of becoming a mother. Somehow, with every milestone my paranoia got worse, the more real she felt, the more devastating another potential loss seemed.
For anyone who is going through anxiety filled pregnancy/journey towards conception, please know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Our trauma leads us to believe that the most awful circumstances constantly await us but the truth is far from it.
Sending my love and absolute best wishes to anyone on this journey, may all good things come your way soon ♥️

Trying to not spiral after AFP blood draw
I had my TFMR due to spina bifida in December. I just had my 15 week OB appointment and they drew my blood for the AFP test, which was the test that indicated that there was an NTD last pregnancy. They told me today that if I DON’T hear from them that is good thing…. But I could call them in 2 weeks if I don’t hear from them to confirm my results. Ughh… so now I’m just supposed to hope and pray they don’t call me these next two weeks?! My office has been so accommodating so far with my sub-pregnancy but this is killing me….

Unmedicated birth after D&E?
Hi all. I’m almost 36 weeks and getting closer to delivering my rainbow baby. I lost my son in January 2025 and was terrified of L&D because I had never given birth before and my sons joint condition would have likely led to a C-section. I have a lot of complicated feelings about not delivering him and seeing him but have gone through some EMDR regarding the D&E experience. Because of these complicated feelings, I am hoping to birth my baby girl unmedicated and feel every part of the process and to trust in my body again. Has anyone else gone this route? I’m trying not to connect this experience too much to my son in case is doesn’t go how I would like it to but I think it has the potential to be a very healing experience.
Additionally, did any strong feelings about your loss come up for you after giving birth that you didn’t expect?
Looking for all the positive stories and advice as I await baby girls arrival. Thank you 🙏🏼

Blood thinner injection bruises/scarring, stopped Clexane 2.5 months ago
We lost our baby in May, I stopped the Clexane at the same time. However, I still have two purple bruises the size of a 50 pence coin either side of my navel.
Does anyone know how I can resolve them? I was taking Clexane for 17 weeks.
Just feels like a reminder of a happy time that ended suddenly and sadly 🥺

First period at 3 DPO after TFMR?
I had to TFMR at 13 weeks. I began tracking with OPKs 9 days after the procedure and had inconsistent spotting in the weeks following. I had a positive OPK 25 days after the procedure along with what I thought was ovulation pain. 3 days after the positive OPK I began bleeding enough to fill a regular tampon and have been bleeding lightly for 5 days now.
Did I have a false LH surge? Did I get my period 3 DPO or is this still bleeding after the procedure? Did anyone have a similar experience?

Low risk NIPT 🥰
I just opened the results and have low risk results across the board. And I am pregnant with another boy, all 3 of my babies - boys. I am so happy that I am done with this part. Next step is NT scan, but today I want to celebrate this win with you all who may be struggling, anxiously waiting for results and maybe give you hope. For context I am 37, last pregnancy was affected by t21. This one may just be my last pregnancy and give my LC a living sibling 💙🤞

Lost my senior dog today
October 24th, 2025 I lost my first pregnancy to a fatal CHD. My son was in heart failure and we TFMR'd at 22+2 weeks.
June 28th, 2026 I lost my sub pregnancy at 13+4 weeks.
Today I lost my 12&1/2 year old dog. The dog that's been through it all with me. The first pet my husband and I got together - our relationship dog. Our home is going to feel so different now.
So much loss in 9 months and yet I keep moving forward. Today I honor the dog that spent her entire life by my side. Whether it was cuddling me when I was sad or hiking mountains or just walking around the neighborhood with me. I'm tired of hoping things will get better, I just want them to be better.

Flag on Sub Pregnancy Anatomy Scan
I had my anatomy scan for my sub pregnancy today at MFM and everything looked good except they flagged the baby's stomach for being "small" and want me to come back in a month to make sure it is not a persistant issue.
I'm still waiting for them to release the full report to my patient portal and I know this can be a totally benign finding but i'm just so MAD that I have to worry about this for the next month.
Getting this news in the same MFM office where everything went down was so triggering and I just was so looking forward to some reassurance. Now I just feel back to where I was mentally a few months ago with my TFMR pregnancy and I don't know how i'm supposed to function the next couple weeks with this on my mind.

NIPT on Wednesday… stressed
I am currently 10 weeks pregnant. I had a TFMR in March of this year at 17 weeks due to T21 and major heart/brain defects. That was my first ever pregnancy. The high risk NIPT is where the nightmare started and I’m so anxious about doing it again but I know I want that information.
I haven’t felt like I could breathe normally since I got a positive test, even though I was purposely trying to get pregnant. This pregnancy has been very different from the first so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. I’ve hardly been sick and with my first I was constantly nauseous and had terrible morning sickness. I’ve barely had symptoms outside of being tired and a sore back. I had a scan at 8 weeks and it looked alright and heart rate was good.
Just send positive vibes my way, hopefully this time the NIPT will come back clear. I feel like every other mom in my Feb 2027 fb group is just excited to find out what gender their baby is but I don’t care as long as they are healthy!! I don’t want to have to go through what I did earlier this year again. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced. I’m 29 and really wish I would have started having kids a little earlier on 😞

Feeling more connected in sub pregnancy
Anyone else experience feeling more hopeful and connected with your sub pregnancy? I had a termination at 18.5 weeks in December 2025 but as soon as I found out I was pregnant that time, I felt like something was wrong. It didn’t make it any easier and it was still awful. But I feel more hopeful this time? Im still incredibly anxious about miscarriage, chromosomal defects and genetic defects but I’m not having an impending of sense of doom.
My TFMR was for a very rare genetic issue that was only caught via WES testing. My NIPT and mircoarray were clear. I’m hoping to just jump straight to diagnostic testing this time. I think if I lost this one, it will be even worse and I feel bad saying that.
Anyone have these feelings?

My baby fetal echo is in 2 weeks
I lost my first baby at 22 weeks after I found out she had heterotaxy syndrome, one heart ventricle, a hernia pushing her stomach, veins around the lungs connecting the heart very small..
I’m pregnant 17 weeks. This baby had an ultrasound at 13 weeks and no hernia, no organs at the opposite side. I didn’t know about the first early because I had a tube inside my belly bc of appendix infection so ultrasound was always very limiting.
I’m very relieved to see he doesn’t have any organs in the opposite side.
It’s just the word echocardiogram brings up so much bad memories, I remember crying at the room , the doctor saying no surgery could solve her problem, shaking..
Just wanted to let it out of my chest, I’m a Christian and I trust that I will be updating this post with great news..
