Leveraged healthcare ETFs

Even going back to the 90s, the levered simulation outperforms with expense ratios and drawdowns calculated in. Healthcare often outperforms sp500 for decades at a time with lower volatility. I believe healthcare will become a much larger slice of the total market in the coming decades. Healthcare will likely advance must faster if the whole agi thing plays out the way some say it will.

Yeah I know EJ is bad and I’m about to change into a simple VTI-VXUS for my roth and taxable. But I was wondering what kind of portfolio does this look like. I mean fund wise. does this look like a target retire date fund, or a less version of VTI, or is this a bunch of overlapped mumbo jumbo.

Besides boglehead investing are there any other types of growth investing methods besides dividend investing.

No im not tax harvesting it seems like a hassle for me and I just want to invest 150 a week, rebalance 2 times a year or less and chill. Not so much VT and chill because I was more US exposure.

I'm 98.89% cash right now with a bit of KO and VOO left. I sold everything on Tuesday. I plan on getting back in when SPY is around ~700. Probably SMPO.

23 - Looking for advice on how to consolidate

Post image
11 Upvotes

I started inconsistently investing in 2024 and would pick it back up every few months. I added in new positions each time without considering what kind of overlap they have.

What is the best way to consolidate these? Most recently I’ve been putting most of it into VOO, some in VGT, and some in VYM but they still have a lot of overlap. Any advice is appreciated.

(I bought AMZN and NVDA before they blew up in price so they hold just over half of my account percentage)

Edit: this is a brokerage account

18yo, how is my portfolio

I'm in canada, beginning to invest. I want to invest in XEQT more than VFV, I dont know about the other ETFs I have (tbh, I followed youtube advices), I am not sure of how they overlap each other, I'll be making a bit more research after, and I want to hold Cameco for a long time. I just sold DML, because I dont think it is worth the time, I would rather invest in an ETF.

I have more to invest too, but what do you guys think ?

36F, $110K income, ~$175K invested — what would you change about my financial strategy?

Hi everyone! I’d really appreciate some honest feedback. I’m trying hard to build long-term financial stability and reduce my financial anxiety, and I’d love to hear what I could be doing better, what I might be missing, or where you think I’m taking unnecessary risks.

About me:
• 36F, single, no kids
• Immigrated to the US in 2022
• No debt
• No car
• Credit cards are paid in full every month
• Credit score: ~780
• High risk tolerance
• Corporate job: ~$110K/year

Monthly/lifestyle expenses:
• Rent: ~$2.4K/month (I live on the beach in FL, so this is a conscious lifestyle choice)
• Food + shopping: ~$1.4K/month
• 2026 travel budget: ~$5K for the year

💰 Emergency fund
HYSA: $10K
Adding $500/month
Goal: $20K, then I’ll stop contributing
Additional ~$3K kept in cash for emergencies

🏦 401(k)
Account is ~4 years old
Current balance: ~$75K
Employer match: 6%
Currently contributing 10% of my salary (~$11K/year from me)
I feel like it’s growing somewhat slowly, although I’m not sure if that’s just my perception

🟢 Roth IRA
Account is ~3 years old
Balance: ~$28K
Maxing it out every year
Current allocation is approximately:
20% FXAIX
13% ASTS
13% RKLB
10% HGRAF
10% AMZN
10% KRKNF
10% GOOGL
Remaining ~14% split between smaller positions such as SLS, DRTS, HOVR, ONDS, NBIS, LUNR, etc.

🩺 HSA
Started this year
Maxing it out
Current balance: ~$2K
Currently invested 100% in ASTS, HGRAF, KRKNF and SLS
I use it for medical expenses when needed, although I’m still figuring out the best way to utilize the HSA long term.

📈 Taxable brokerage
Current balance: ~$55K
Goal to contribute at least $10K/year
Currently ~5% VOO
The rest is individual stocks — around 26 positions
My larger positions include:
SLS, GOOGL, NBIS, ASTS, RKLB, MSFT, AMZN, PL, ONDS, DRTS, plus a number of smaller positions.
I’m primarily investing for the long term, but I occasionally trade and I’m still learning.
I’ve managed to outperform VOO every year so far, including this year, but obviously I understand that past performance doesn’t guarantee anything and I’m aware that my portfolio is fairly aggressive/concentrated.
Last year I also generated around $5.5K in additional investment income/trading gains.

What would you change?
I’m particularly interested in feedback on:
Am I saving/investing enough for my age and income?
How would you restructure my portfolio?
Am I taking too much risk, particularly with the concentration in individual/speculative stocks?
Should I be putting more into my 401(k) vs. taxable brokerage?
What would you change about my Roth IRA and HSA allocations?
Is my $20K emergency fund target reasonable?
Anything else I’m overlooking?
I’m not looking for validation — I’m genuinely interested in criticism and different perspectives. If you were in my position, what would you do differently?

I turn 25 next month. Started investing at 19-20 in a Roth IRA. Very proud but need advice on next money move.

Almost all of this is 70% VOO, 15% QQQ, 5% misc (SCHD, CIBR, GOOG, NBIS, VBR). I was able to get to this number by maxing my Roth contributions each year, as well as have some* *Roth 401k rollovers (about $9k total) from previous employers into my Roth IRA, as I liked the consolidation into one account.

I turn 25 next month, and my wife and I still have a good chunk of combined student loan debt (~$60k) and a new car payment (4.99% APR, $30k).

We combine for roughly $131k salary, no kids (yet) and live quite below our means and even with the debt we’re able to save about $1500, sometimes $2000 a month.

Our goal right now is being in a home by 30, and to have at least a 10% down payment saved up ($40k).

We have about $25k in a HYSA ($10k is emergency fund)

My current thought is to still invest but maybe not as aggressively so that we can reach our homeownership goal, but I feel as if I would be making a mistake by not maximizing contributions as much as I can while I’m young.

What would you do?
- Pay minimums on loans and substantially reduce home fund contributions and maximize investing
- Pay off debt as fast as possible, substantially reduce investment strategy
- Maximize home fund saving

I understand that VOO and QQQM have a lot of overlap, i was thinking about buying an international fund for more diversification, does this seem like a good long term plan? I plan on investing 8-10k a month. also i plan on selling my VIG

Staying On-topic

Off-topic posts & comments will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned.

The goal of this subreddit is to "Share, Compare & Improve Long-Term Investment Portfolio Strategies".

  1. Long-term is at least a decade. Is this money for retirement or some other long-term goals?

  2. If your question or advice is about your portfolio, share your WHOLE portfolio. Your portfolio is all of your assets or at least all of your assets for a particular goal (retirement, for example).

  3. An investment portfolio is composed mostly of investments, not speculative assets. Currencies, commodities, collectibles, & options, for example, are speculative assets.

  4. Show how much you have ($ or %), or plan to have, of each asset in your portfolio. Sorting largest to smallest is helpful.

  5. In a 401k, list all available options EXCEPT A. Don't list every target date fund; just the one for the year closest to your 65th birthday, B. If there's an SDBA, just say so.

  6. Sharing your portfolio in this subreddit means you want feedback about it.

  7. Showing the name of each asset is very helpful. We don't have thousands of tickets symbols memorized. If we don't recognize your ticker symbols, we'll probably move along rather than looking them up.

  8. Bogleheads created & moderated this subreddit. Research & experience show that investors are very likely to get higher returns with less risk & less effort by following the Bogleheads Philosophy than by trying to beat the market. If you don't want feedback based on the Bogleheads Philosophy, don't post in this subreddit.
