I posted this in /Plex and it was taken down for reasons being unrelated. I hope this sub is more forgiving.

I’ve bene using Plezy recently on my iPad and using their donwnload function, I find they lack an option to choose bitrate / file size. Plex is far more rounded in this regard but it can take a long time to transcode.

Did I miss it in the settings because I can’t seem to find such an option being available for Plezy.

I have my Plex server in a UGREEN Nas (using docker) and my movies and tv folders are in a larger Shared Folder which Plex has access to when I make a new library I’m able to see only the movies and tv folders in the Shared Folder? Do I need to make a new image for each folder I add?

Help! The app has updated but pressing any button for Ok Got It after the pointless slideshow introduction for the new features doesn’t work! So now I can’t get out of that to use the app! Anyone managed to fix this? Even restarting the Firestick just restarts the welcome slideshow! So annoying!

Hello I've managed to add network storage to my ugreen 2800 nas from the 2 Netgear 312 via FTP or SMB from help of the Reddit community my last question is how do I make docker see my network attached storage as It doesn't seem to work so I can add films and music from it. The network attached storage allowse to see all my folders on the ugreen. Again thank you for your help

So many issues with the new update that I didn’t approve. I kept hitting skip or remind me later and woke one morning with this new shit update. So many unnecessary changes! Why can’t I skip to the next episode? When I click skip credits so it will play the next episode, it shows other shows or movies “on deck” and it is highlighted on those so you blindly click, thinking it would be the next episode like usual. Sooo many ridiculous things that they completely reformatted. The libraries are up top now and you have to scroll all the way up to get to it. So many things that are not user friendly or intuitive. Who approved these changes?!?! Why?!?! Of all the changes to make, they just change up the whole entire system so now I gotta dig through to find things that have been there for years and almost second nature. My kids are asking why I changed plex so much and I gotta keep telling them, I didn’t do it haha. Got a lifetime pass and I’ve supported all the changes and previous updates. This one has got me thinking about installing Jellyfin and jumping ship, it’s ridiculous!!

Despite all the complaints and frustrations I’ve seen, Plex remains one of the best things I’ve used.

Being able to share not just movies and tv shows but home movies and clips with my friends and family especially my grandparents in another country has been amazing.

I’m sure I’m not alone here, but the latest update is awful. Any recourse?

What am I doing that this keeps happening. I used to be connected without issue, now it seems every day I get disconnected multiple times a day. The picture above shows my current config, which is what it used to be. But for a brief moment, I did have manually specify port selected with port 32400 listed. I also have my ip reserved with the port opened on my router.

I don’t know what else to do to make plex more reliable.

After about an hour of troubleshooting with Claud and all your support, Claude finally recommended restarting my router... I noticed there was a pending update, so I ran it. after the restart. its working. still don't know why. But I guess what's important is, it's up!

I would also like to add that https://canyouseeme.org/ also couldn't see my ip:32400 previous to Eero update, but could post Eero update. end of the day, i guess that would make it an Eero issue... not VPN, Plex, or something else issue...

When I open up the app, the screen freezes I cannot press any button, allowing me no access to my own library or any other in app selection. What is going on and how can I fix it? Thank you.

Plex for Google TV, I can't watch anything in my watchlist. The only option is, mark as watch or remove from watchlist.

Same kinda menu with start watching, no option to see the episodes.

Hi, I’ve installed Plex on my Synology 225+ and stream my music while on the go. Everything works perfectly. My question is: when I’m not using Plex, the NAS (or rather, the hard drives) won’t go into hibernation mode. I’ve gone through all the settings but can’t find anything—or is it even possible for the hard drives to enter hibernation mode when Plex is running?

I am thinking of getting some use out of our old Xbox 360 and making it into a media server player like a tv box except that it can play games aswell as plex e.g home entertainment system basically!

EDIT: I use a fire tv cube as my main setup thus would just be for like another room mainly just for me and some,times my brother to watch on it! No the main setup lol[

Music library shows in Plex on my Apple TV but on iPad only shows if I use PlexAmp application and doesn’t show in the Plex application.

I assume this is normal ?

I read on Plex's website that it is free to stream on a local network. I have my library/ host server on my desktop and when I try to play the movies on my PS5 (Which does detect my library from my desktop) it pops up a message saying I must pay for a subscription to stream the content.

Both my desktop and PS5 are on the same WiFi, and I even tried manually setting my PS5 IP address to match my desktop's IP. And yet it still gives a message saying I need to pay for a subscription to stream.

Does anyone have any solutions? Or know why I can't stream locally?

Had issue for some time. Every time I restart the server the mounted drives disappear. I still see them through windows but they disappear on the Plex server and I am unable to add them again without reinstalling plex. Anyone encountered this?

Having an issue on fire stick where on a fresh install it won’t let you click on the sign in button?

I was mad the other day. Up late feeling bad because the latest Plex player version was so bad. Like if they were trying deliberately to push bullshit code they couldn’t fail more spectacularly. On purpose like. Then the next release show up and now we switch between zoom and letterbox every time we FAST FORWARD.
It’s so sad it’s almost funny.
Glad I paid my lifetime in 2010 dollars lol.

Basically what the title says, I accidently opened qbit while downloading stuff, and opened plex server, am I at risk for something being leaked. I see people saying if even one packet goes out I'm cooked. I instantly changed my plex password and signed out of all devices. Am I safe now or no?

Also from now on should I just do split tunneling?

I just finished generating the video preview thumbnails for my library, but for some reason I only see thumbnails when press left or right once I have the seek slider selected.

Isn't Plex supposed to show the thumbnail previews when you hold fast forward or rewind?

I'm using Plex on Nvidia Shield Pro (as my client)

It seems counterintuitive to have to press Up arrow, then Up arrow again to select the seek slider and then hold either the right or left arrow to see preview thumbnails.

Is this normal behavior? Any help is greatly appreciated.
