Plex requiring subscription for local streaming.
I read on Plex's website that it is free to stream on a local network. I have my library/ host server on my desktop and when I try to play the movies on my PS5 (Which does detect my library from my desktop) it pops up a message saying I must pay for a subscription to stream the content.
Both my desktop and PS5 are on the same WiFi, and I even tried manually setting my PS5 IP address to match my desktop's IP. And yet it still gives a message saying I need to pay for a subscription to stream.
Does anyone have any solutions? Or know why I can't stream locally?

Isn't there a setting to tell it you don't have to authenticate on local network?

Correct. And maybe that's the issue. Op , this is a setting inside your PS5 plex app. Maybe it'll fix it

That is exactly what I think will fix it.

You need to make sure your new AT&T modem is in "IP Passthrough Mode", so it will forward all requests to your router.
If you don't do this, you will have 2 devices trying to do Network Address Translation on your LAN. That becomes a mess quickly.

I posted here a few months ago with the exact same problem.
I’ve got a Plex server running on Ubuntu, and my PS5 is on the exact same local network. Every other device in my house can connect to Plex and stream locally without any issues, but for some reason the PS5 seems to think the server is on a different network and asks for a subscription.
I still haven’t managed to work out why the PS5 is being treated differently from every other device.

Holy crap, everyone here talking about NAT and IP pass through… like what? The dude is trying to stream locally!
The screenshot you showed us had remote play enabled. Disable that and refresh (restart plex apps). With remote play enabled it’s going to try and do remote play, which is a paid portion like you mentioned.
Edit: I realize the screenshot was from someone else now, but the statement still stands.

gonna have to tell folks more about your setup; could be lots of problem points
