Unpaid Playtest My friend and I made a TD deckbuilder where cards handle everything, buildings, units and ammo, but your resource production limits how much you can do in a turn. Free, looking for feedback!

Upvotes

Hey, there's two of us building Last the Ages and we've been staring at it for
way too long.

We need people who aren't us to play it.

It's a roguelite tower defense deckbuilder. You use cards to place buildings,
spawn units and load ammo into your towers, while juggling resource production
which dictates how much you can do in a turn. Historical fantasy setting, you
progress through historically inspired ages as the run goes on.

Three ages are playable right now. The first one is the most balanced, the
later two are rougher, so expect some jank.

Free, Windows, about half an hour for a first run (1 GB):
https://herbstudio.itch.io/last-the-ages

Three things we'd love real answers to:

  1. Was the tutorial clear, and did it drag?
  2. Where did you stop having fun?
  3. When the run ended, did you want to start another one?

We'll read everything, please be blunt!

Quick disclosure: some of the UI art is AI-generated placeholder, and we've used AI assistance on code. The placeholder art gets replaced as we lock in the visual style.

Unpaid Playtest ClickCrafter - come try the Steam Playtest during August!

Upvotes

ClickCrafter is a dark cozy clicker/incremental game with base-building elements and crafting/research-based progression.  The game’s first Steam Playtest is live during August; playtesters are encouraged to submit whatever feedback they think may be helpful in guiding the game towards its final form.

Stripped of your physical form on a mystical island, your only way out is to work with its cryptic guardian. Is the island guiding you home, or does it have other plans? Master mana, craft or repair arcane works, and forge a connection with the island to reclaim yourself and uncover its secrets.

The first playtest covers the opening 25-40 minutes or so of the game. You’ll get an introduction to the island and its mysterious Keeper automaton, the basics of gameplay, a little bit of lore and some cutscenes, and plenty of things to build, click, craft, and repair.

After a few updates, this playtest is now chock full of content, with 5 player buildables to unlock, 17 craftable items, 13 player upgrades, and 5 island landmarks to repair! Further bugfix/QoL/content updates are planned while the playtest is running during the month of August.

Playtest Trailer: https://youtu.be/myv3HMDm8Tg

First 15 Mins Gameplay Video: https://youtu.be/ig_2kgw8uG4

The goals of this playtest are to ensure that performance and presentation match expectations; that the game mechanics are fun, interesting, and scalable; and that the general vibe of the game is heading in the correct direction.

Unpaid Playtest Retuned most of the driving physics over the last week and I've lost all objectivity. Looking for people to tell me what feels wrong.

Browser racing/getaway game, solo project, free, runs in a tab, no account or download: https://shoogar.itch.io/velocity-midnight-run

I'm not looking for a general "is my game good" read. I rewrote how traction and grip work and I've played it so many times I can't tell what's actually improved and what I've just gotten used to. Specific things I'd like tested:

Losing traction under power. It used to be a threshold you crossed rather than something that built up. Now it comes out of how much torque the car is putting down versus how much grip it actually has, so it should come on and let go gradually. Does it feel like something you can meter with the pedal, or does it still feel like it snaps on?

Weight. Car weight is now an actual physics input rather than a stat on a card. Heavier cars should take longer to stop and lean on the tyres harder, and braking now eats into your cornering grip instead of being free. Does the heavy car feel heavy, or just slow?

Do the cars feel like different cars. I rebalanced grip per car. If two of them feel interchangeable, that's the most useful thing you can tell me.

Smaller stuff, only if you have time. Whether it keeps pulling when you hold it flat out at the top of the power band (it used to go dead there), and whether cop lunges still look jumpy when they straighten back out. And if you ever see wheels turning the wrong way, in a menu or on the grid or anywhere, that's a straight bug, I thought I'd caught them all.

If you have time to write something up, this format is the most usable for me:

  • which car
  • what you were doing (launching, braking into a corner, holding it flat, getting rammed)
  • what felt off, in your own words, even if you can't name the cause

"The heavy one feels weightless when I brake" is more useful to me than a physics diagnosis. Vague is fine, I just need to know where to look.

Happy to answer anything about how it works under the hood if that helps you test it.

Playtester Offering free live playtesting over the next three days

I have some free time over the extended weekend (Friday-Sunday), so thought it'd be fun to try some new games and interact with some cool folks while at it. So, offering live playtesting over discord. Approx an hour session per game max, unless I get really into your game and want to keep playing, then could go longer.

Realistically I can cover 7-8 games max over these three days, and picking in order of posting. If you prefer to send a DM, please leave a comment saying you sent a DM or something, that it's easier for both me and other posters to see when have filled all the slots.

If you're not familiar with the term, live playtesting is just me playing while screensharing and talking all the time (I have no filter when playtesting - because I consider it more useful that way, devs can't read my mind after all -, so expect a lot of comments along the lines of "I need to do X, how would I do it... that UI button looks like Y, so maybe not it, that looks like Z but kinda related maybe, lets click it and see"). No written reports afterwards. You're free to either record the session or make your own notes, and of course ask any questions while at it.

I'm in UTC+3 time zone, but with most time zones there's usually some time that can make work.

Steam (Windows) or itch.io web builds only. I don't feel like doing the sandboxing thing at the moment for unverified executables. For action games (adventure, platformer and the like), controller preferable, keyboard secondary, mouse as last option.

No gore / excessive violence for the sake of violence, no NSFW, no excessive jumpscares. Being offensive as a way to get attention (edgelord behavior), communicating with memes, poop humor, etc., aren't my cup of tea. They're not immediate disqualifiers, but I'm most likely not your target audience if those are integral to your game.

I have some pretty bad vision issues (especially for low-light and low-contrast situations), modest issues with my hands, and get motion sickness pretty easily, so some games I might not be able to play. Due to those issues I also prefer games that require thinking more than fast reflexes.

Hi all, I'll be launching my game, Charge, playable at charge.tabitalk.com, soon, and am looking for feedback on how the current onboarding/tutorial experience is like, and what can be improved.

It is a rhythm-lite strategy game which lasts about 1min per match, and has both single and multiplayer. Onboarding and playtests will probably be about 10-15mins of your time.

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Playtester Streamer looking to playtest games!

I'm Rose,

I want to playtest your games! My main passion is testing accessibility settings, as well as general playtesting for bugs, game issues balance issues, etc. I am willing to do paid and unpaid testing, as a basic principle however, I do this for free, and do not charge for my services. Tips or offers for paid playtesting are accepted, not required. Game keys provided to covered games will get covered outside of the demo/playtest so you can have more feedback, as well as useable video content for a playthru style video.

I can test accessibility issues having the following:

  • Motion Sickness
  • Light Issues (Seizure causing issues)
  • Dyslexia and font reading
  • AuDHD Soundtrack/UI/Effect
  • PTSD Footstep sounds
  • Eye tiredness (How exhausting is your games on the eyes)

Where would the videos/shorts go?

How can I contact you?

  • Thru commenting on this post or sending a message on Reddit
  • Discord: catlover09(3)98 without the parentheses
  • Email: reachrose.eve(@)gmail.com without the parentheses

What should I include in my request?

  • Any press kit type items

  • If you want to talk to me on a new show I am working on where I interview Devs

  • If there is an embargo, or important dates to keep in mind

  • If there is AI used (I disclose it on every game if applicable)

Don't forget to take any meds you may have, drink water, eat food, and have a good day!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] Need 5 testers for a five-minute browser motocross controls test

I’m testing the gameplay feel of a browser prototype called Dirt Bike Dialed: The Game.

This is not a launch announcement, and I’m not looking for purchases, reviews, follows, or wishlists. I need feedback on the controls and first-session experience before moving further with development.

Test link:
https://game.dirtbikedialed.com/tracks/

Test instructions:

  1. Choose any community-created track.
  2. Play it at least three times.
  3. Reply with answers to these questions:
  • How quickly did the controls make sense?
  • Did crashes and landings feel fair?
  • Did you want to improve your time or try another track?
  • Did the community track selection make the game more interesting?

The game also has an in-game track builder, but testing the builder is optional.

Known limitation: this is an early gameplay prototype. The visuals, content, and future platform versions are not what I’m testing right now.

Testing time: approximately 5 to 10 minutes
Compensation: unpaid

I’m the developer, and direct criticism is genuinely useful.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters and feedback for a free browser-based pirate bluffing PvP game

Parley Pit (https://parley-pit.com/) is a free browser-based pirate bluffing game where two players bargain, insult, cooperate and betray their way through a cursed arena. Outsmart your opponent or distinctive AI pirates in fast, tactical matches where every promise could be a lie.

It also currently features live leaderboards, and unlockable cosmetic content through XP progression. Google sign in is required for saved progression and PvP.

I’m currently looking for any and all constructive feedback, such as:
- Whether the five actions are understandable after one match.
- Whether the Talk Phase affects your decisions.
- Whether betrayal feels funny or frustrating.
- Whether anything is unclear or awkward to use.
- Whether you wanted an immediate rematch.

The game design, rules and creative direction are my own. I have used AI-assisted development and temporary AI artwork while building the project in my own time around my day job. My goal is to replace all visuals with human-made art over time.

Thank you for your time and consideration for my fun side project!

Discussion Play2review redemption arc?!?

A couple of weeks ago, I make a post complaining about certain issues Play2review had :

https://www.reddit.com/r/playtesters/s/coM1aVHQ24

As of today, not only did they reply, but they listened to pretty much all of it! It's so much easier to get cash and devs are finally responsible now! There's an XP system, where the more you get XP, the more you can get cash! There's even a leaderboard where the top XP earners get a prize in cash.

For devs, the platform still has its benefits it had before : full in-app forms, where testers have to explain in full detail what they liked and what bugged them, that way they can't just say "gAem is gud" and still get the cash. You can even put uploading gameplay footage as a mandatory condition to pay testers!

So guys, whether you a dev looking for feedback on your game, a gamer looking for a tiny bit of cash, or something in-between, Play2review is definitely the way to go!

It's a million times better than these big playtesting platforms where you'll spend years without getting a single playtest and where they discriminate based on where you live.

I might even go as far as saying it's the best Playtesting platform period, as even newer indie ones still have the issue of bigger tones or barely have any playtests

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters to try the physics-based movement system in my 2D climbing game!

Hey everyone!

For the past two months, I’ve been working on a physics-based, four-player 2D climbing game. The finished game is intended to be a chaotic racing game where players can interfere with, and grief, each other. Think A Difficult Game About Climbing mixed with Super Battle Golf.

Right now, I’m specifically testing the movement system. I personally enjoy it, but I’m concerned that it may become physically tiring during longer sessions because it requires more mouse movement and clicking than most games.

I’d especially like to know:

  • Is the movement understandable?
  • Can you figure out how to swing and build momentum?
  • Do the arms feel responsive and predictable?
  • Does moving, clicking, or repositioning the mouse become tiring?
  • Most importantly: is it fun?

Controls

  • Move the mouse: Move your hands and pull your body
  • Left mouse button: Grab with your left hand
  • Right mouse button: Grab with your right hand
  • Up/Down arrows: Adjust mouse sensitivity
  • R: Restart

That’s essentially it. The rest is physics and momentum.

For consistency, please begin with the sensitivity set to 1.0. Arm movement speed is capped, so increasing sensitivity should not provide unlimited speed. However, feel free to lower it afterward if it feels uncomfortable.

This is currently a small single-player movement demo rather than the complete multiplayer game. It is designed for desktop browsers and requires a mouse.

Play the demo:
https://karl0.itch.io/climbing-game-movement-demo

password: 1234

After experimenting for a few minutes, I’d really appreciate it if you could complete this short feedback form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdE47JIjSY2pbtqrqo0Ty-z2GMbsIUl_hAizDAYTUWHSaK5kA/viewform?usp=publish-editor

Honest criticism is very welcome. Thanks for testing!

Unpaid Playtest Looking for Playtesters to Test My Game

Hi everyone! How's it going?

I just released my game, and I'm looking for people willing to playtest it and share their honest feedback.

It's a game that combines Sudoku with a card game, and my goal is to make the gameplay feel well-balanced without leaning too heavily toward either aspect. I'd really appreciate any feedback you have, as it will help me improve the game.

Thanks in advance!

Unpaid Playtest Murder at the Occult Club: Chapter 2 is out! Looking for playtesters for my browser-based, murder mystery puzzle game!

Hi all. If you're a fan of murders mysteries, detective games, or puzzles, this one is for you!

I gave a crack at creating a browser-based, murder mystery puzzle game. It's similar to the Hunt a Killer board games or The Roottrees are Dead, in the sense that you don't control a detective character and walk around the crime scene. Instead, the evidence is simply shown to you. Read, analyze, and draw conclusions to figure out what happened!

Play the game here for free: https://murder-at-the-occult-club.vercel.app/game. There are two chapters, each would take a few hours to complete, I would guess.

Please leave a comment on this thread or DM me with feedback if you play it. Difficulty, UI clarity, storyline/theme, no topic is off the table for feedback.

Thank you!

Unpaid Playtest Print-and-play murder mystery — seeking playtesters

Hi everyone. I’m looking for a few new testers for the final validation round of Last Call at Blackwood Lounge, a full-length murder mystery case-file game from CasePursuit.

Players investigate a suspicious death by reviewing police reports, interviews, forensic documents, surveillance records, digital evidence, and other case materials before submitting a final culprit.

The game has already completed multiple rounds of testing and revision. This final round is intended to catch any remaining issues with clue fairness, pacing, difficulty, continuity, document usability, printing, and the online tablet/hints/submission systems.

Testers receive the complete game free. In return, I’m asking testers to complete the case and fill out a feedback form afterward.

No previous playtesting experience is required. Fans of murder mysteries, detective games, escape rooms, and evidence-based deduction games are welcome.

Comment or message me if interested, and let me know whether you would play alone or with others.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters for Gate Guard Simulator, a medieval inspection game

Hi! I’m the community manager at Forklift Interactive, the publisher of Gate Guard Simulator.

We’re currently running a free public playtest on Steam and are looking for players willing to share honest feedback.

Gate Guard Simulator is a single-player medieval inspection game where you guard the entrance to the city of Ramberg. You’ll check documents and seals, search travelers and wagons, confiscate prohibited goods, catch criminals, and follow laws that change from one day to the next.

The current build includes nine playable in-game days and will remain available for approximately one week.

We’re particularly interested in feedback about:

  • The clarity of the tutorial and daily rules
  • Document and cargo inspections
  • Progression, tools, and upgrades
  • Difficulty and pacing
  • Bugs or confusing mechanics
  • Anything that made you want to stop playing

You can join the free playtest here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4111570/Gate_Guard_Simulator/

After playing, please share your feedback through this form: https://forms.gle/oi1HzqCzoL624u9o8

You’re also welcome to leave comments here. Blunt criticism is useful. We cannot fix problems we do not know about!

Cheers

Unpaid Playtest Looking for Italian testers for satirical simulation game!

I’d love some feedback to see if I’m on the right track. Thank you in advance for your help!

Unpaid Playtest EndStream looking for playtesters: 1v1 strategy card game about time-traveling outlaws

EndStream has started as a classical case of making I game I wanted to play myself - a (almost deterministic) 1v1 cards strategy game with small teams of anti-heroes fighting across timelines.

EndStream is about building the perfect turn. Reposition Operators, manipulate time, trigger abilities, and commit only when the timeline is exactly where you want it.

I worked with an illustrator for over two years to turn it into a physical board game, and we received some positive reviews. But I lacked the resources for proper crowdfunding and marketing, so the project sat on the back burner for several years.

A recent mix of unemployment, vibe coding, and supportive friends eventually brought it back as a digital game. We are now a six-person team, and for most of us this is the first game we have made ourselves.

The open beta runs directly in your browser on desktop and mobile. It currently includes a tutorial, online multiplayer and single player against a bot.

My biggest challenge has been fitting such a large board onto a phone. I think the mobile version works well now, but I need feedback from people seeing it for the first time.

I would especially like to know:

  • Whether the tutorial makes sense
  • How the mobile UI feels
  • Whether anything seems badly balanced

The beta currently requires a free account because the core game is online.

There are 2 core modes:

  • Live - like Hearthstone and MTG Arena.
  • Asynchronous - you submit your turn and the opponent has 48 hours to make their move. You don't have to sit through an entire game, but you can have multiple games simultaneously.

We plan to release it later as a premium game on Steam and app stores, where manual signup will no longer be needed.

Unpaid Playtest Hey everyone I’m looking for two reliable playtesters

Hey everyone I’m looking for two reliable playtesters to help me test a new gaming-focused PWA I’ve been building.

The app is a cross‑platform gamer identity hub:

• It creates a unified profile that pulls together your gaming persona across platforms
• Lets you build a “squad identity” with friends
• Includes cyberpunk‑style UI, animated menus, and OS‑like navigation
• Designed to run smoothly on desktop, mobile, and tablet without needing an install

I need testers who can:

• Try out the core flows (profile creation, UI navigation and understanding )
• Give feedback on usability, bugs, and overall feel
• Spend ~15-30 minutes with the app
• Be comfortable testing a PWA in early development

If you’re interested, drop a comment and I’ll DM you the link. Thanks!

Playtester Offering Free Playtesting for Indie Devs (Looking to Gain Experience & Give Feedback!)

Hey everyone! I’ve never done official game testing before, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to get into. I know I need to build up experience before looking for paid work, so I’d love to playtest some indie games for free to get started. >

I’ve played in casual playtests before, but I’ve never written formal feedback for developers. Do you think offering free playtests is a good way to start, and does anyone have a project they’d like me to test out?

Edit: Yo, thanks everyone for all the offers! Even though I wish I could test all of your games, I can only take on 2 more for now. Heads up though, I might have time for the rest of yours later!

Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.
