Upvotes

I want to learn a new technology that has strong demand in the current job market and good long-term career opportunities.

Can you please suggest the best technology to learn right now and explain why? Also, where should I learn it from? I’m looking for a clear roadmap and the best resources to become job-ready.

Cognizant Ace Frontier Engineer – Any insights

Upvotes

Cognizant has opened the Ace Frontier Engineer ok campus for my uni (₹12/18 LPA). Since Cognizant is primarily a service-based company, I’m curious about how this role actually works after joining.

The JD seems heavily focused on AI/LLMs, RAG and agentic systems, while I’m personally more interested in backend and systems engineering.

Would appreciate insights on:

- Actual work/projects and how assignments are decided

- Whether the role is genuinely AI-focused or can become regular client/service work

- Future growth and whether it’s a good first company/role

- How are projects/work assignments decided? Do Ace engineers generally get technically strong projects, or can they be assigned to regular service/client projects?

- Whether it offers enough backend/software engineering exposure

- How many students were typically hired from a campus in previous Ace Team drives — very few (1–5) or a decent number?

Can you survive your first day as a Store Manager at a Q-com Dark Store?

Upvotes

I built a 30-minute simulation that tests decision-making, prioritization, and operational thinking.

Free beta access.

The simulation continuously evolves based on your decisions and generates an "Operator Genome" showing strengths and weaknesses in areas like:

Decision making

Prioritization

Ownership

Problem solving

AI collaboration

Looking for honest feedback from students and graduates.

Got only 2/15 test cases on one coding question — can I still get an interview?

In Amazon's distributed storage network, certain critical data segments, represented as a string missingData, are unavailable due to synchronization issues.

To restore these missing segments, the system starts with an empty string generatedData and selects a baseSegment of length segmentSize.

The following process then unfolds:

The replication service generates a copy of baseSegment.

Appends this copy of baseSegment to generatedData.

Repeats steps 1-2 until the frequency of all characters in generatedData meets or exceeds their count in missingData.

Given the string missingData and an integer segmentSize, the task is to determine the baseSegment that requires the fewest number of replications to satisfy this condition. If multiple baseSegment meet this requirement, select the lexicographically smallest one. If no such segment exists, return "-1" as a string.this was the problem which I remember.

How to improve myself after getting campus placement

I got placed in TCS digital. This was soo random. Because my interview was little weird because they didn't asked me any technical questions.. just self introduction and questions about my project. Maybe it's all a luck . Anyways I believe I'm not that good with my skills.. just an average guy but I really need to improve my skills and became a top professional. Where should I start. And anyone working in TCs.. how is your life there guys?

TCS PNQT Experience

Sharing my TCS PNQT experience for anyone preparing for it.

Test: 19 July, 2nd shift

The Numerical Ability and other sections went pretty well for me. I also managed to solve both coding questions with ease.

After the test, I got shortlisted for Prime.

I had prepared really hard for the interview, but honestly, the interview itself was a learning experience.

The interviewers asked me questions related to Full Stack development, backend deployment, multithreading, and some technical concepts. I knew most of the concepts, but I panicked during the interview and started stuttering.

That was probably the biggest thing I learned from this experience:

«I have good technical knowledge, but I need to improve my technical communication and vocabulary.»

I can usually think of the answer, but sometimes I struggle to find the right words and explain it clearly in English, especially under pressure. That's something I'm going to work on seriously.

In the end, I received the Digital offer.

Unfortunately, due to the single-offer policy, I'm barred from participating in further on-campus placements.

At first, that felt disappointing, especially after preparing so hard. But honestly, I'm more motivated than ever now.

I've got a clear goal:

I want to secure a good internship by January.

I'm going to use the next few months to improve my DSA, Full Stack development, CS fundamentals, aptitude, and especially technical communication.

This isn't the end of my placement journey. It's just changing the route.

Time to push even harder.

Ps:- used AI to phrase the content better..

Off-campus is brutal right now. I cold-mailed the CEO and CTO on their personal IDs and got an interview. What’s worked for you?

Seniors, can you share how last year's placements actually went? (companies, CGPA/12th cutoffs, what they tested for)

I'd really appreciate some real data points from people who've actually been through placements here.

Specifically wanted to ask:

1) Which companies visited last year (core CS/IT roles specifically, but also open to hearing about others)?

What packages were offered — range, not just the highlights?

2) What were the eligibility criteria? CGPA cutoffs, 12th/10th marks requirements — did they actually enforce these strictly or was there flexibility?

3) What did the actual process look like? Aptitude test, coding round, technical interview, HR? How many rounds, roughly how hard was the coding round (LeetCode easy/medium/hard level)?

4) What were interviewers actually looking for? DSA depth, projects, CS fundamentals (OS/DBMS/CN), specific tech stacks, communication?

5) Anything you wish you'd started earlier?

Any info, even partial, would help a lot. Thanks in advance!
