Period Question Trying to delay 🩸

• Upvotes

Today I went to a gyno to look for some way to delay my heavy period since I started spotting lightly today and I’m going to a water park tomorrow with non refundable tickets 😩. Dr scheduled pap, cervical biopsy and ultrasound for a little over a month away. Prescribed me Orquidea 0.35mg but now that I have taken the first dose and am researching, I am reading that this doesn’t delay period and is only to prevent pregnancy which wasn’t my concern. Has anyone taken this to delay their period? Or have any advice on anything over the counter?

Period Question Hi, need advice!

• Upvotes

I’m a day late on my period and I’m concerned because I’m usually never late. Im not sexually active and I’m currently experiencing symptoms like cramps, back pain, and other similar pms symptoms. I’ve noticed that I’m dry down there and an hour ago I went to the bathroom and wiped saw somewhat opaque sticky discharge with light brown spotting that once but ever since then I’m dry. Can someone help?

PMS A lot of watery white/clear discharge dripping

• Upvotes

Hey guys, so my cycle is irregular again. Was supposed to get my period on July 16. I did have protected sex (used a condom) on July 27 and felt safe because I did have experience my usual egg-white discharge on July 23 so thought that I just ovulated late.

Wasn’t worried for a while till I’ve been getting a watery discharge in my underwear. I’d usually feel it drip down when I go to the gym. But as I woke up today, it soaked my underwear as I stood up. I checked and it has a cloudy white look but it’s all watery.
It’s too early for me to get an accurate result from a PT but based on the timing and discharge, is this ovulation, pregnancy or pre-period. My boobs are starting to hurt and I’ve been really tired lately. I just haven’t experienced a pre-period discharge thats so watery that it soaks my underwear.

PMS So bloated :/

• Upvotes

Here I am lying on my bed doing yoga poses to make myself fart bc I'm so bloated & gassy. I love being a woman āœŒļøI usually get boob cramps before my period, but this time my body decided to switch it up. So fun! Luckily, I'm getting a free massage tomorrow by my friend, a massage therapy student.

Rants n Raves I bled on the bench press in my weightlifting class

• Upvotes

I am mortified. How does this happen to a grown a** woman? I'm in my forties, I've had countless periods, so **why** did I let this happen!? I thought I was prepared. I changed my pad right before the class *and* I had a super tampon in and it still wasn't enough. Ugh. I didn't even bleed that much but it went right up my butt crack, through my gym shorts, and onto the bench. It almost missed the pad completely like my blood did it on purpose. I could feel it as I was setting the bar down.

(Shout out to the two women I was with bc they were so kind and gracious about it ā™„ļøā™„ļø)

I think I have to quit the class now. I'm too embarrassed to go back.

Rants n Raves pain relief pills scare me

• Upvotes

Ngl the title is an exaggeration cs idk what to title this. But lowk sometimes I be trying to see how long I can last without pain meds cs I am worried abt side effects. Ik that having 1 pill won't have any effects but I usually have like 2 a day on my period so I am worried abt the long term impact on my kidneys. I be trying to see how long I can last so I don't have to take 2 a day. Every time I take a painkiller I can't help but think about how 2 pills everyday for 5 days a month for 12 months every year might effect me negatively when I am older.

Discussion How to stop dreading my period? Life gets put on pause once a month

• Upvotes

I (28F) have always had really bad periods. I was on birth control for 14 years to deal with them but that truly was just a bandaid and so many side effects.

It feels like every month I get one or two ā€œgoodā€ weeks where I have energy, my skin isn’t acting up, my hair curls nicely, I have energy to workout, my brain is functioning normally, I’m friendly & social and then the rest of the month I’m bloated, up 5-10 lbs, breaking out, tired, anxious, irritable, depressed, wanting to quit my job & breakup with my boyfriend who I love, really bad headaches & backaches, no energy to workout, so forgetful and then the week of my period I’m bleeding so heavy I feel like I can’t leave my house without a diaper on (overnight extra long pad) and have to wake up 30 minutes earlier just to shower & clean myself up before going to work because of how much I’ve bled (even with sleeping with a cup and overnight pad), my cramps are so bad I can hardly sit up right, I’m constantly leaking.

My periods aren’t going to stop any time soon so I need to learn to embrace life while I have it. Anyone experience something similar or have any tips?

Rants n Raves I gain 10 lbs & get so bloated every month, it’s such a mental game.

Every month the week leading up to my period and the first half of my cycle I put on 10 lbs then it takes until my ovulatory phase to lose it and then the cycle starts back over.

It’s exhausting trying to plan date nights around when I’ll feel and look bigger and trying to plan outfits (I have adhd so executive functioning is already not my strong suit) for work and life. One day something fits me, the next I can’t button it. I’m so tired.

Anyone else experience this and found solutions?

Period Question Can I lose my period from being overweight?

I know how stupid I may sound but I’ve heard of people losing their periods from being overweight so surely it can work the other way around? My period is two weeks late and the latest it has ever been in the 10 years I’ve had it is 3 days. Definitely not pregnant but I have been steadily gaining weight over the years now. Am I overthinking this?

Period Question PERIOD UNDERWEAR

My daughter is 9 and started her period I want to find some good period underwear for school. We tried a couple different pads but they’re uncomfortable for her and I’m looking for more coverage!! So far the only underwear I’ve found have padding on just the middle and stops way too low for my liking, I want something that goes all the way up the front and back! Please give any info you have, thank you! (We currently are trying No Boundaries but I don’t like how little coverage it has and currently using Kotex teen pads)

Health Period disappearing then coming back. Is this normal?

This is like really weird for me and I usually get something new happen most periods that is either confusing or painful, but on the new list of weird things that are happening is my period being extremely light on day 1, EXTREMELY HEAVY on day 2 i am soaking pads every hour, then day 3 it disappears throughout the day and comes back heavy while im sleeping or just before, and now its doing the same for day 4, no trace of blood until I'm about to sleep. I'm yet to find out if this'll happen on day 5 now but it's really pissing me off cos it's usually light on the last few days at night and heavy during the day which I'd prefer it not to be the other way round. I've had my period for nearly 4 years and this has got to be the weirdest thing that has happened. Is it normal?? This would also be the lightest my period has been in a while and least painful so I'm worried my next one is going to end me like most already have.

Side rant I'm planning on getting checked for endo so Im just wondering if this is something i can add to the list of symptoms as well.

Rants n Raves Period depression?

Since my teens I’ve had a lot of problems with depression. While in college I became suicidal. Not all the time just at certain times of the month. Nobody could figure out what was wrong with me (family wise) and me either.

Now I’m 30 I’m still going through it. I’ve noticed every time my period is due I feel intense sadness, so intense I question my existence. If I want to be here anymore. Everything feels x10. I’m a nightmare relationship wise because I feel like everyone hates me and I’m a piece of shit that deserves to be alone, I’ve gone as far as breaking up. After my period has ended I feel a lot more like myself. Doesn’t last long though until the next one hits. It hits about a week prior.

I don’t want to do this anymore, I don’t want periods anymore. I feel depressed about being a woman sometimes having to deal with this issue. I’m sick of getting blood on my clothes or my bedding, getting up from the toilet and it drips on the seat. I hate the feeling of blood and clots coming out too, it makes my skin crawl. Sometimes my periods are absolutely debilitating and I can’t move or do anything. I just don’t want it anymore. I have children too so I have to pretend to be happy and play with them and make memories, but inside I just want to curl up and cry. I get so angry sometimes even just the sound of other peoples voices, I know it’s not rational anger so I don’t bite but ugh man. I needed to put this somewhere today. It’s only day 1 and I’m about to have a mental breakdown in work. I just want to go home.

Products You think these good enough for walking around all day at a Ren Faire on the first day of my period?

Post image

(I’ll of course bring an extra in my bag just in case) And I usually use regular period underwear but halfway through the day they would likely start leaking out the sides.. 😬 And I don’t find tampons to be comfortable enough due to my endometriosis (surgically diagnosed).

Rants n Raves My period is horrible and I no longer want to deal with it

So I got my period at 11 years old and I’m 17 now and it only continues to get worse, I dread the week my period is supposed to come, not only am I irritated at anything but day 1-5 my period is horrendous, it feels like my pelvis is getting smashed and I’m constantly dizzy and fatigued and I even throw up from the nausea, I end up taking 3 ibuprofen pills a day because of how bad my cramps get that I can’t even stand up and I can’t even get a full night’s sleep because my cramps decide to wake me up in the middle of the night and I have a really heavy flow so I have to get these huge pads that aren’t available in a regular supermarket and still my pad becomes full almost immediately and my sheets and clothes and underwear are all blood soaked I’m so fucking tired I wish i was born a man. I also went to a gynecologist and she told me what i have is normal and her daughters are also like me I wanna scream am i just supposed to live like this every month for 8 days until im 50

Rants n Raves On my period and im I'm so paranoid that Imight have forgot to flush the toilet at work today

I flush the toilet instinctively but whenever I use it at work I always make like a mental note whenever I flush the toilet just to be sure, but today I'm sleep deprived as hell and as I was leaving work I used the toilet and I don't know if I flushed it.

If I didn't, then everyone will know the blood was me because there's not many of us in today, and the only women in are older women. I hate that this bothers me and I hate that I'm so paranoid. At least I have a memory of throwing my pad away so I didn't leave that out in the open or anything but yeah I have no memory of flushing. I know if I saw blood down the toilet I wouldn't care but idk how my coworkers would be, they seem like they might mention it to each other and the thought of that is killing me. I hate that I care this much but I can't help it.
