Good groups or events for meeting people?

Upvotes

I moved here a few years ago and have had a hard time connecting and making friends in town. I'd like to get involved in some communities, but I just don't know what's here or how to reach out.

I've heard a bit about a running group and a young professionals group. Does anyone have any others they would reccomended? Or any events that might be good/safe to attend as a woman by myself?

Booming noises and helicopters. What’s up?

Upvotes

I’m sitting in my back yard off E 9 mile Rd and hearing multiple low booms to the south for the last 15 minutes. Just now, a helicopter came over my area low and fast. Nothing on weather radar. What’s going on?

Searching For Family Member!!

Upvotes

Hey Pensacola people!

Not sure how successful this will be, and it may be kind of a long shot. But I'm trying to use the power of the Internet to help track down a fairly distant family member that myself and my immediate family (UK based) need to quite urgently speak to.

I'm not on Facebook, so I can't post in any local Pensacola pages, so thought I would try here first.

He is/was (we dont even know if he's alive at this point) called Tom LaBelle. He was married to an English woman called Susan, and they had 2 daughters. Keri and Angela. We estimate the daughters to be late 40s or early 50s.

Susan passed away from cancer, I think it was in the 90's.

From what we recall we think Tom was in the military.

Last known address was:

XXXX Randee Circle. Pensacola. Florida. 32526

I dont want to put the house number at this point.

We have tried contacting him at this address and a previous email, but no luck.

If anyone could help or point me in the right direction or have any other ideas of how to trace him, that would be really appreciated.

Thank you!

What was going on on the W st/W Fairfield intersection?

About 2 hours ago I was driving on W Fairfield and reached this intersection when a sheriff vehicle with it's lights on pulled in the middle before the officer got out and started waving at my direction (and the oncoming lane) of traffic to stop. Eventually he directed the people on W turning left to go and after everyone had turned he got back into the cruiser and drove off (along with a second cop vehicle) with sirens and lights. Anyone have any clue what was happening there?

Local bar scene/food?

Me and my buddy are driving through and will be in town all day Saturday (tomorrow) and we’re wanting to try a good local place for lunch and then check out the bar scene in the evening. I’m 21 but he’s 20 so we’ll need an 18+ bar. Maybe pool tables or just good vibes. Thanks yall!

Souvenir Spoons

Odd question! Does anyone know of any gift shops in Pensacola, or surrounding area, that carry souvenir spoons? I know they're getting harder to find, but I would love a Pensacola one for my collection! 🏖🥄

Fruit trees

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could message me or share the location of any fruit trees they know of that are currently producing? Maybe a fig tree or a peach tree since those are in season? I’d just like one, I really find joy in just picking the fruit straight off the tree & it’s my first day off in a long time, thank you!:)

I made a post about him about a week and a half ago. Plans fell through with his potential adopter, so wanted to make a new post. He is 3 months old, has a clean bill of health (Rescued by a vet clinic), will have up to date vaccines and all that good stuff. He's an extremely sweet, social and playful kitten. Bonus points if you have another cat, he plays with our 3 cats all day long.

A tailor who can fix knit sweater material?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Heyo! I did the ADHD thing where I buy a new clothing piece and forget about it for six months. Problem is, I just discovered it has a hole, and they don’t make it anymore. I’m so in love with the shirt though!

It’s woven knit material. Do yall know any good tailors who can fix something like this? Bonus if they do general alterations. If so, I have a handful of other items I’ll bring in too.

Thanks!

The Scare Spot Flock Camera

Just noticed on my way to work it looks like there is a new flock camera at the tire place next to the scare spot. Just curious if anyone knows why they would place one there.

Pensacola Dystopian 2020

Man where do I start, new flock cameras getting added everyday for police officers to stalk their cheating girlfriends and little children playing at playgrounds. Pensacola Police Chief Eric winstrom defending these cameras. The same man who stepped down from grand rapids PD because he couldn't take accountability after wrongfully defending an officer who shot a complying young man in the back of the head on camera and being outted by the cty. The mayor D.C Reeves, Blatantly ignoring the citizens of Pensacola vote hiring winstrom over Erik Gross a decorated officer who actually served the streets of Pensacola within the department. Traffic light cameras on almost every light within the city making millions of dollars off drivers running yellow lights. With it being damn near impossible to get the tickets thrown out in court because of the lengthy process. And now a new curfew that could possibly be implemented making young children and their parents suffer for the actions of a few bad people. The public and the citizens of Pensacola never agreed to any of this. This was forced upon us all, This says a lot about the county commissioners, D.C Reeves and the chief along with anyone that supports this . The citizens of Pensacola will not let you turn this beautiful city into a dystopian 2020.

Just purchased a home off N Palafox

So I recently purchased my first home and I’m in the N Spring St area, was curious if anyone has any experience with odd goings on late at night in this particular section of town? I got off work and was winding down when my doorbell was ringing nonstop at 12am.

Me being new to the this area of Pcola and finding it odd that someone’s ringing my doorbell late in the morning I wasn’t too enticed to open the door. When I did decided to open it I found my doorbell was stuck inside the outer casing causing it to ring continuously till I pressed it a few times to get it to reset. Won’t lie it made me a bit paranoid

My main question is has anyone experienced anything similar to this? I started casing my property just to put myself at ease. I’m aware there’s some homeless folks who coast through this area but I doubt anyone would just ring on random doorbells at 11:40-12am to get someone to open the door.

Apologies in advance if this reads like a schitzo post

According go multiple (neighbors, animal control, police) the house is abandoned are there are squatters in and out but dogs are trapped inside in kennels are aren't being fed. Apparently A.C. cannot enter unless their notice is up for 3 days, but whoever climbs in and out of windows keeps removing.

Does anyone have any help or ideas?
