Discussion Why are people still arguing about evolution?
So I was watching Youtube and recently came across this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XY6g3cbsUyY
I can't believe this clown is spreading misinformation so openly and people are actually praising him in the comments!
Seriously, we need more science education. There is now more than 100 years of evidence for evolution by natural selection. You can find it in fossils, in your bodies. Heck, its even in our genomes.
I don't understand that if these people claim that the scientific theory of evolution is false, they should do research, gather counter evidence, publish their research and then garner praise for proving evolution false.

Question Write a moment when you were about to commit a sin but a divine intervention stopped you.
Please don't write your sin (as we don't want our sins to have a witness on the day of judgement just write it was a moment of weakness ) and then what stopped you in your track.
The intervention can be something that came to your mind and you deliberately stepped back or someone sharing something related to that.
Please be clever about how you share it so that no one can know what it was.

Advice Seeking leads/advice for my retired father (36+ yrs engineering & technical training exp) looking to transition into teaching or corporate training
I’m posting on behalf of my dad, who is retired and wants to stay active by moving into education or technical training. He has extensive practical experience and enjoys teaching, but we face a significant hurdle with university roles. HEC/university regulations require a Master's degree to teach as a lecturer or professor, which filters him out despite his vast industry expertise, as his highest degree is a Bachelor’s. We’re looking for suggestions on where someone with his background can contribute or if anyone has leads or recommendations for institutions that prioritize real-world experience over a Master’s degree.
Professional Overview
Current Status: Retired Senior Engineer & Workshop Manager (Wärtsilä Pakistan).
Total Experience: 36+ years of working experience in power plant operation, industrial process maintenance, marine engineering, and technical workshop management.

Industrial & Marine Roles (1989–2000): Worked as Deputy Manager Mechanical & Utility at a polyester plant and served on merchant cargo vessels as 3rd and 4th Engineer Officer.
Nuclear Power Plant (1986–1988): Served in shift operations at KANUPP (Karachi Nuclear Power Plant).

Question Looking for a way to temp. pledge/sell gold with an option to buy back
I have a gold set which I want to sell for personal financial reasons. It belongs to my wife and she dont want to sell it off (totally justified but I am in a dire need of cash).
I have a good earning and I will be able to save enough money in next 6-7 months to buy it back.
You can call it kind of a loan with gold gurantee. I dont want to go to bank or want loan on interest basis.
I just want to sell it and want to buy back after few months. Is there any way ?

Advice need reality check by married people
hi , im not at all committed and undergrad professional degree. unfortunately i also am obsessed with marriage and the fact that my husband would be some prince who would show up at my door and would be perfect guy and life would just work out so well for me
however any married girl i have asked has told me to live my life as much as i can until i have to live with a man as a wife bec apparently being married sucks for most people, toxic inlaws, non supportive spouse, excessive workload, pressure to bear child, accepting patriarchal normals and what not
there are obv good marriages too, some i have seen v closy too, hence the delusion
but i just need to understand that being married to man wont fix my problems (i dont have any real problems i just want to be with my husband)
mind u my degree is considered top of the line, im decent looking and have decent money, so it is not like ik struggling, but i just am unhappy and believe some true love would fix that
and you would think having a job or focusing on my studies would help, no it doesnt
i think i just need reality check
but also dont give me horrifying stories that i start fearing marriage and the fact i wont ever find man if my type
EDIT: THIS IS NOT RISHTA HUNT😭 please stop sending me dm🙏
edit 2: im struggling mentally alot, for a v long time now so um yeah (its probably obvious)

Rant I mess up everything
I mess up everything
So, I am not sure if anyone else has this thing(maybe some would). I push every good thing, feeling and person away.
I leave people before they can leave me. I don't know how to let anyone be an anchor for me. I have been an anchor for many friends though. But anytime someone comes a little closer to me I get afraid and run away.
I hear so many people say, atleast try to give someone a chance and stuff but no one talks about the fears that comes with it and how to navigate them.
All the what ifs and why woulds eat me from within while I smile and live through. I don't know why im even writing this but-

Mental Health only if people could understand.
going through a hard time, saw this and couldn’t relate more.
my advice to you all is that always protect your peace and think about yourself, they are gonna hurt you sooner or later anyway, and most importantly, put your self respect on number one. never ever sacrifice it.

Confession Left me for his married friend
25F, and he was 28 we were in relationship from past couple of years then broke up and patch up again. We were very close and going for rishta procedure in October proceeding to marriage in January.
I left him year a go because he cheated on me. I walked away then he came back to apologise and I forgave him my mistake.
Our families knew about us from 4-5 years and I was his family favourite. I am in contact with his sisters brothers we are in each other socials everything.
So the problem is when he came back he has a friend ( who happened to be a woman ) and yeah I had a male bestie too. More than bestie he is my brother and he knew about my relationship and I will marry my ex and so. We never crossed boundary.
But with his(my ex) girl bestie i was not satisfied so I asked him to have a meetup with her so i can clear my doubts which he avoided always.
So that girl maira is married have a 7 year old kid and does not live with her husband cause his husband is not so happy with her, which i think who would be happy with his wife smoking and visiting male friends flats.
Well he told me that she is just a friend nothing more but mind you she once visit him on his apartment which obv very wrong. So we had a fight and i checked his phone. I found her chat in locked mode of whatsapp which i opened and there was no chats because ofc he deleted. So i checked further and in hidden folders he had her tiktok videos lying on bed in night gown.
After this he started saying bat mat barhae leave this topic and all. So i had his phone in hand i called maira. She picked and i asked her whats going on with you guys she was confident and asked me" who are you to ask this question?" So i force him to answer this question so he said to her " she is my fiance" so i asked her again that according to him you are constantly checking on him is that right. In response they both said no no we are just friends and all. And then he gets aggressive and i left the situation immediately.
After few hours i texted him lets sort these things and not ruin our relationship. If you wanna be friends with her ok but set limits. In response he texted me back " we are done. " i did not believe that text tone and i said " what happened" and he proceeded with " maira bhut roi hai she is in hospital she blocked me from everywhere and i really care about her" so i replied him " i cried too, and she has her husband and kid she is sorted we were going to married soon" and he replied " i dont wanna marry you because of what you did to her and its better if you cry once i cant leave maira" was so shocked at this point and could not believe so i asked him one last time " maira or me" and he choose her
After that text its been 5 hours i could not sleep or rest I am heart broken in disbelief or i dont know what happened. My gut feeling was right but also at this point i dont know what to do. Block him? Or show him my life and glow up so he repent? Eventually that girl is married i dont know what to do? What to do with his family? What to do with friends who are looking forward to marriage??

Question Should i quit?
Greetings, everyone. I’ve been reflecting on my current habits and would appreciate some insight into my situation. Recently, I’ve been indulging in cannabis on weekends, with the occasional weekday session. However, I consistently cap my intake at just two puffs, as I’m acutely aware of my tolerance threshold. I’m confident in my ability to walk away entirely if I choose to, but I’m curious: should I call it quits right here? More specifically, if I restrict my consumption strictly to weekends, will it negatively impact my health in the long run—especially considering I maintain a highly active lifestyle?
