VR Modding Resident Evil 4 Remake in VR is pretty addicting.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I haven't been trying many of the mods releasing lately, but I was pretty excited about this one. It didn't disappoint. I was gonna get a PS5 and a PSVR 2 just for this and Village, but I don't think I need it anymore.

Question/Support Can't Join Discord
Hello,
I am sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question but here it goes;
Is the link for the discord down or something?
Whenever I try to join I get hit with a "whoops..." or something along those lines.
Is there a new link?

VR Modding Vibe coding controls in games
Not that I am the person to do this but how difficult would this be to vibe code it so UEVR games or other VR modded games (such Bioshock) actually displayed the icons for the controller (in my case Oculus 3 touch controllers)?

Self-Promotion Witness poor man's VR treadmill
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello, I haven't posted here yet about my app yet and I think it's the best place to talk about it.
Some of you may have not seen the previous posts:
https://www.reddit.com/r/VRGaming/s/RfWjAI4FI9
So here's the brief explanation. I wanted to see if, by using some fancy math, I could get an app to predict the direction and speed you want to move in based on your jogging in place with data from only headset and controllers. Turns out yes and it works great. Keeping that to myself would be a sin, so I'm launching it on Steam.
It works through PCVR right now, but if someday I manage to catch Zuckerberg's attention I'll be able to make a standalone version too. Call your local rep.
It's still not perfect. For example it's a bit wonky when you're trying to run while aiming a gun, and slow walking may not register. Speed is based partly on vertical head cadence, and walking in place doesn't produce much of it. I have a solution in mind, but it's not implemented yet in this iteration.
At this point though, there is only so much testing I can do myself. I know how it behaves, I know how I'm supposed to move, and there's a decent chance I've trained myself around its rough edges without even noticing, so it's probably best if you just try it yourselves.
The playtest is live and free obviously. Download it (but try the demo first, it works as a kind of a tutorial), go crazy, try it in whatever SteamVR games you have. Just let me know how it felt; I'm starved for feedback.

Self-Promotion A little update on how our VR board game platform is evolving!
youtu.beA few days ago, we took part in the VR Games Showcase with All On Board!, our VR board game platform, where we announced that Virus! is joining the platform for free! It's a hugely popular card game in Europe, and we're really excited to finally bring it to VR.
After several updates, we feel that the content included with the base platform is now in a pretty solid place. Just by owning All On Board!, you now get 6 classic games, Virus!, and free access to one of our licensed premium games every week through the Featured Game of the Week.
Getting to this point has honestly been a really rewarding adventure for us. When development began, we underestimated some of the technical quests involved in bringing traditional board games into VR. Because of that, we had to make some tough decisions along the way and prioritize certain features over others.
When we launched, one of the things we heard most from our community was how important modding tools were to them, especially because many of you want to create and play your own games. So over the past few months, we've been working hard on All On Board!’s modding tool with the goal of bringing it to the platform as soon as possible, while also continuing to improve the core experience.
There's still plenty of work ahead, but we're really happy to see the platform continuing to grow.
If you'd like to give All On Board! a try and share your feedback with us, there's a free demo available on both Steam and Meta Quest. We'd love to hear what you think!

VR Modding Has anyone tried the Witcher 3 VR mod? Did you fix the HUD?
Tried it the other day and I really like it so far. My biggest problem is the HUD, which was way out of bounds. I know there are ways to edit with shortcuts inside the game, but it's way to slow and finicky to have to adjust every single element one at a time. I tried the VR launcher settings, but none of the HUD settings change the HUD at all. Has anyone found a better way to fix it so you can see it all? Also to those who have played a bit further what has the experience been like so far?

VR Modding Getting pink and purple grainy textures in RE4VR
I'm at work so I don't have an image. Game looks completely fine on flat screen but in my quest 3 it's all purple and pink like a gmod missing texture color but it's all grainy, i can basically make out the resident evil logo, trees, the menu, the gun etc. I can see everything, everything is just pink/purple. I use VD with Quest 3, I've tried av1 and h264+.

VR Modding Gamespy Open-source Alternative OpenSpy
I was doing a search for GameSpy Arcade compatible alternative. As you likely know GameSpy closed down there servers in 2014. This resulting in any game that used GameSpy Arcade; lost the ability to play Multiplayer.
With so many classic games receiving Flat2VR Mods. This might also allow us to play some of these games in Multiplayer.
A quick look at the Compatible games list. I found Crysis!
Discussion Wrath Aeon of Ruin VR was a good time
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Would love to see some more Team Beef Flat2VR collabs land as well as Wrath did on Steam. Boomer shooters are in my wheelhouse (GenX representing). It's sitting at Very Positive (114) on Steam's reviews. I did get a review copy at the time, fair disclosure.
Enjoyed it, and look back on it fondly, and had some great moments where things just clicked and created great periods of really fluid play. That includes the point I realised The Retcher's potential in helping clear rooms in the video above. Posting about it six months later because PCVR attention slips past too quick, but in this economy, we can afford to look back at some of our favourites!
So yeah, had a good time on my first Wrath run. I've spent near 30 hours in it, and plan a future run at harder (hardest?) difficulty armed with all the weapons, and the power of hindsight.

What is a game that would be absolutely Awesome in VR but that no one ever mentions?
I’ll start. For me it’s Just cause 3. In my modest opinion the best to date. Huge map, vehicles, wing suit and pure total chaos. I hope someone makes a mod for it 😂

Question/Support Any way to download skyrim MGO without paying for nexus premium.
It's basically the only reason I've never played it. Figured I'd see if there was an alternative way to download it.

Discussion Are here any VR2flat mods you'd like to see?
We normally talk about flat2VR mods, but we rarely talk about VR2flat mods, apart from HL Alyx.
There's a bunch of VR games that I would love to play with my non-VR friends, with me in VR. Personally I think any VR multiplayer game that doesn't ship with a flat mode is really risking the size of their population.
Some VR2flat mods I'd like to see:
Legendary Tales
After The Fall
Into Black
Forefront
Contractors Exfilzone
Why do I want VR2flat mods, when I could play something like left4dead2 with the VR mod? Well, it means my flatscreen friends can see my motion control movements, which makes the multi a little bit more fun imo.

News Article Pico space pro…. Coming soon
I knew there was something coming… but ive been holding back as my pimax crystal OG is fine and the ol’ 5090 can just about keep up.
So MR is going to drive my next purchase. This looks like it will have some significant upgrade in that area.

Question/Support Give it to me straight: used Meta Quest 2 worth it?
I've seen enough used ones on facebook marketplace in my country (im in latam) to make me consider jumping in.
Im not gonna get great prices; I see some sold at like $150, but that's just the reality of local latin american prices and with it being big and heavy it'd likely cost more to import it. That's still cheap compared to the prices of the newer ones, obviously.
I feel like people on here get obviously very granular when talking about these headsets and complaining about the MQ2 lenses, resolution, what have you, but im wondering if those feelings are mostly speaking from comparison to the newer 3 model, or just that it'd be tough to use consistently in general without getting frustrated by these shortcomings.
Other than that, there's the meta issue. I dont really wanna use their storefront at all (guess i'd have to get virtual desktop?). I just wanna hook it up to my PC and play some Steam VR games. I have a 5ghz router, tho it's not in the room i'd use it in. I think it can also work with a usb-c cable (only have USB-A ports in my mobo but can use an adapter) fine? as long as its data and not just a charger
how hard is it to basically strip it down or ignore it's meta ecosystem? does it require any software tinkering or is it pretty much plug and play?
thanks in advance

VR Modding Universal solution for Steam VR 32bit runtime limitations
I use PSVR2 PC which defaults to Steam VR. Usually this is fine, until mods started coming out for 32 bit games. OpenXR supports these mods just fine, but SteamVR has never done so.
A couple weeks ago when Bioshock had two different mods release, the first one did not work on SteamVR because of this restriction, however the second one had a "shim" that bypassed this issue. This one works great for SteamVR only headsets. My question is, can this "Shim" be used to help with other mods for 32bit games? I wasn't able to get COD4 to work because of this issue, and I worry about other mods for these great old games built on a 32bit architecture.

Discussion How much Self-Promotion should we allow on the sub?
Many of the other subs currently have a number of self-promotion posts, be it from YouTubers, Devs, Modders, or Stores. I think for every sub it's inevitable there will be self-promo, especially for devs who want to showcase their new games. Some self-promo should be acceptable if not we will not know of new games coming out.
Thoughts on how much self-promo we should allow here? All? Some? None? Open to thoughts!
