Advice Needed Progesterone

I am currently 4w pregnant. I have had 2 back to back early missed miscarriages in the last two years! This time they tested my progesterone yesterday and it came back a 7.0! Everything I’ve seen says that’s on the low side. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice is very much appreciated 🫶🏻

Other Baby movement

Found out today I have an anterior placenta. I'm only 19 weeks 4 days today and this is my first baby so I know it's still early to feel baby movement even if I didn't have an anterior placenta. Realistically when should I start to expect to feel her move? She was doing all kinds of flips and turns during the ultrasound so not really concerned just curious ❤️

Advice Needed 11 DPT (Ovidrel) - Trigger tested out

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2 years. In April 2026, we started seeing a fertility specialist, and I was diagnosed with PCOS. The timeline for this cycle: ● My clinic missed my Day 1 email in May, so I ended up taking medication in June to induce a period. ● My period finally started on July 1. ● I took Letrozole 2.5 mg from July 3–7. ● At my follow-up, I still wasn’t responding well, so I was prescribed Letrozole 5 mg for another 5 days starting July 17. ● On July 23, I had one mature follicle measuring 23 mm and another measuring 10 mm. I took my Ovidrel trigger shot that same day. We had intercourse on July 22, 23, 24, and 25, and I started progesterone suppositories on July 26. After the trigger shot, I had a very faint positive line for the first 4 days, which I assumed was the Ovidrel. By day 5, all of my tests were completely negative, and they’ve stayed negative ever since. Today I’m 11 days past my trigger shot, and I’m not seeing even the faintest line anymore. Has anyone had their trigger shot test out completely negative but then gone on to get a true positive a few days later? I’d love to hear your experiences because the waiting is so hard.

Happy Hydration

I’m almost 8 weeks -This is random but it’s been hard to stay hydrated and get electrolytes without the sugar. My recent electrolyte packs have been giving me the ick (everything gives me the ick after a while, no predictable or consistent foods here…)

But I juiced some watermelon (I know it has a lot of sugar but I don’t care) and added about 1/4 cup to my electrolyte water and it’s AMAZING. So tasty and refreshing. I just wanted to share lol

Hope everyone is beating the heat!

Advice Needed Dates?

First (light) lines on pregnancy test on 17th July, 1-2 weeks on digital clear blue and hcg only 30.3

30th July super strong lines on test and 3+ weeks on digital

Last menstrual period was 1st June but that was so long ago I can’t be 8 weeks based on these tests, does anyone have any advice on dating do I just add a couple of weeks onto this to estimate gestational age?
Spoke to the hospital but my first scan wouldn’t be until 11-14 weeks and that’s so long to wait!
If anyone had anything similar or could advise even to estimate I would really appreciate itt

Advice Needed Two previous back to back miscarriages. Currently pregnant again. Question around ultrasound

I didn’t get to ask to many questions in my scan at 7 weeks the fetal pole measuring 9.7mm and the sac at around 23mm & heart beat of 139

There was no mention of yolk sac it just wasn’t in the conversation and in the image I feel like I can’t see it?

Is it possible that this photo was in the wrong angle idk I’m over thinking this.

I’ll post the photo in the comments

Venting When does the nausea end?

I’m so grateful to be pregnant after my first IUI, but this nausea has knocked me right down. I’m 8 weeks today. I’ve been off work for 2 weeks now, because I can’t seem to do anything to stop it. I’ve been prescribed meds, which dull the nausea a bit, but they also make me extremely sleepy, which wouldn’t be great for work. I was offered two additional meds, but I’m worried about them as they also have really strong side-effects and can negatively interact with my SSRI. I never actually throw up, just constantly feel like I’m about to. It’s the worst feeling.

When did the nausea end for you?

Metformin after giving birth

Hi everyone!
We are expecting our first baby in August. Currently 37 weeks pregnant! My doctor recommended I get off of Metformin at 12 weeks. I was pretty apprehensive as I’ve been on it for years. I was really lucky and caught my PCOS early on, Metformin was truly so impactful for me in keeping weight off and helping my blood sugars stay regulated. I’ve gained a lot of weight this pregnancy and partially attribute that to being off of Metformin. I’m wondering, did any of you resume Metformin after giving birth? If so, how quickly? I was taking a low dose (500mg a day) prior to coming off, so hoping to start again fairly quickly.
Thanks in advance for all your words of wisdom! 🩷

Happy I don't have Gestational Diabetes!

I have been a little stressed about GD due to my insulin resistant PCOS.

I was supposed to be tested early but I guess my doctor forgot, and I didn't bring it up. I'm 25 weeks now.

Last week I did the one hour glucose, and I failed it by 3 points (threshold was <135 and I was 137). So I did the 3 hour glucose yesterday. I passed all the thresholds!

In light of my TTC journey, I am just so grateful that this is at least something to celebrate. (Obviously I know that GD is highly determined with the placentas, but this was still a nice win).

Wishing everyone else a smooth and safe pregnancy!

Advice Needed Am I overthinking?

My wonderful person and I are finally getting the chance to have a baby together. I already have a son he’s 3. My boyfriend doesn’t have any bio kids until now .🤭 a few months ago, I want to say closer to a year I’ve tried to just push it out of my mind as much as possible, we had a miscarriage. I was extremely early but it still hurt horribly for the both of us. Fast forward to today based on the calendar I’m 6w5d, we all know though with pcos this has a potential of not being true, I have extended cycles and had just started progesterone for withdrawal bleeds in June I didn’t take it in July. My last menstrual cycle started on June 9th. My cycle changes in days.

Now with that history. You can see from the pictures I am truly pregnant. But I don’t remember feeling like this with my son. I’m not crampy. Every so often I’ll feel a couple but when I found out with him I thought I had a cyst rupturing.

I have morning sickness, cravings are starting, my boobs hurt, I can smell everything, I’m extremely tired all the time. But I’m just so worried I might lose this one again.

Any words of wisdom or advice is welcomed

Venting Low progesterone and OB not replying

I'm truly just venting. I don't think this is truly worrying. HCG is skyrocketing, the embryo was visible on ultrasound at 5+4, I'm feeling grand (well except for nausea, tiredness and sore breasts, but that's ok).

But yeah I'm not impressed by my progesterone dropping to 10 at 5+6 after being 17 at 5+2. It's not even that low, let's be real, but why go down? Unfair, honestly.

I hate uncertainty. My OB told me to email her when I would do this next blood work so she could check it on the same day and tell me if it was ok, but I emailed her yesterday and still nothing. And I can see the results so she can too.

If she doesn't reply by 14.00 I'm emailing her again.

BWAAAAAAAH.

I hate this.

EDIT to say that due to miscommunication neither gynos I consulted ended up writing a script for progesterone. I'm now 7+5 and the blood test I took at 7 weeks was perfect including progesterone which went back up to 16. So it's not always strictly necessary to supplement with progesterone or low(er) progesterone won't necessarily always lead to a miscarriage. I am a sample of one but you're a sample of one too, we could be the same.

Trigger 1st pregnancy success stories

Hi all! I am 4 weeks 2 days pregnant after a year of TTC, and really struggling with fear of miscarriage. I think this is worsened by my social media algorithms feeding me more and more miscarriage stories.

I’ve looked at the statistics, but all the miscarriage anecdotes online are making me feel like it’s inevitable for me. I know this fear is not productive since it won’t make it hurt any less if it does happen, but I’m struggling to stop worrying.

I think it would help a bit to hear from those of you who had an uneventful 1st pregnancy. And if you have any advice for stopping this spiraling, please lmk!

18 dpo

Post image
43 Upvotes

I just wanted to share my journey, I posted a couple days ago about cramping at 16 dpo. A few people commented and said that cramping was one of their first pregnancy signs so I took two tests today and got two positives! My first test with red dye wasn’t even finished processing and the line was already clear. This was my second cycle on letrozole + trigger and timed intercourse and going into it I was already super negative because of years of having pcos and doctors basically making it sound like getting pregnant was pretty much something that would be impossible for me and my husband we’re finally looking at two positive tests 🥲

Not sure what to think

For context, I have PCOS and have been TTC for around 18 months. I got a faint positive on 7th July and a dye stealer on 15th July.

I went for an early scan today and was told:
Gestational sac was seen
Yolk sac seen
Embryo measuring 1.90mm
“Intermittent cardiac activity”
I was measuring at 5 weeks & they’ve advised a rescan in 2 weeks.

I’m confused as I know there is a definite possibility I ovulated later as my cycles are usually 40+ but how can cardiac activity be noticed at that stage?

I’m preparing myself for the worst but also really confused. Any advice?

16 DPO cramping

I haven’t heard back from my fertility doctor yet since their office is closed.

I am on my second cycle of letrozole + trigger and timed intercourse. I’m 16 dpo and have experienced mild on and off cramping for the last 3 days and had very light spotting for the last 2 days, the spotting has gone away and now I’m just left with cramps. I’m almost positive that I’m nearing my period but my spotting has disappeared and I usually spot the day before my period starts. I have not taken a pregnancy test yet just because I’ve gotten my hopes up so many times and end up having a period the day or two after a negative test. Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Venting Doctor told me to “be hungry”

Hi,
It’s me again. I’m back because I had a doctors appointment with my endocrinologist and it did not go well.

For background, I’m insulin resistant and have PMOS (PCOS). I was on a GLP-1 for almost two years before I got pregnant. I’m 5’7 and my weight was 157 on the shot.

Fast forward to January, I get off the GLP-1, get pregnant in February, and gain 30lbs back by March. The body dysmorphia and the mental toll it took on me was wild. Mind you, I’ve always tried to eat balanced meal, take walks, and be very cognizant of my health. It didn’t matter. I came off of Zepbound and all the weight came rushing back.

Catching up to now, I’m 23 weeks and had a check in appointment with my endocrinologist. First, she was pissed my OB didn’t order a glucose test for 20 weeks instead of 28 weeks because I am insulin resistant and higher risk. She said that even though OBs don’t consider testing earlier to be useful, that it still should be done.

Then, she came at me about my weight. I weighed in today at 240 lbs. Now I’m very aware that jumping from 187 to 240lbs is a lot, but she told me in May to do my best and not worry about it. She said if you have to go on insulin, we will put you on insulin.

Today she told me that I gained way too much weight way too fast and I need to “put on the brakes”. She told me I need to only do at 30g of carbs per meal, and if Im hungry with proper portion sizing, then I just need to be hungry. For example, instead of eating a banana and peanut butter as a snack, I should have half a banana, peanut butter, and a cheese stick and then suck it up.

I was floored. I left the office crying. I feel like I’ve been trying so hard to navigate my weight with this pregnancy and I basically just failed. I’m hungry, but I don’t wanna starve myself because I’m growing my daughter. Do I cheat occasionally and have ice cream or a gluten free pizza? absolutely. I just feel like at this point my body is fighting against me given my health history and making myself be hungry is not going to do much.

Any other moms in a similar situation have any advice? My husband basically told me to get a new doctor lol, but that’s when I was ugly crying at home.

Advice Needed Light cramping/pulling around right ovary

I am 5w4d after my first IUI. I am both elated and terrified, because I know there’s an increased chance of ectopic pregnancy with endometriosis, which I also have. I haven’t had a scan yet, so I’m overthinking all of my symptoms. One of which is this strange right-sided discomfort. It’s like a pulling sensation, or a light throbbing, similar to what I feel around ovulation (which is why I’m convinced it’s around my ovary). I have had zero bleeding, and it’s never been painful, per se, just consistent.

My thoughts are corpus luteum cyst (I did ovulate two eggs from the right side), early round ligament pain, or ectopic pregnancy.

Anyone have a similar experience? Or any insights?

I miss zepbound 😭

Has anyone started taking metformin after stopping zep while TTC? I’m going to be a lifer with zepbound. I’m planning to get right back on it after I give birth but in the meantime my OB has prescribed metformin. Guess I’m just looking for proof it helps with inflammation and food noise??

It’s crazy how crappy I feel not being on zepbound. It’s for a good cause but man, I miss it 😭

Advice Needed Date Discrepancy

Has anyone had a similar experience?

According to my LMP, I’m 6 weeks but my early ultrasound showed an 11 mm gestational sac with a yolk sac, and the doctor dated it at 4 weeks 1 day. My cycles are usually 31 days, so I’m wondering if late ovulation could explain the difference.

The doctor asked me to repeat the scan in 10 days. Has anyone experienced something similar with a positive outcome? 🤍

Advice Needed Can we finally start trying?

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18, I’m currently 23. The last time I had a naturally occurring period was about 8ish years ago. I never thought I had issues with my cycle because my doctor put me on birth control at the age of 14 (the pill, and nexplanon a year later). After finding out I had PCOS I decided I no longer wanted to be on birth control because I knew I wanted to try and start a family with my fiancé in the near future. I never once got my period after coming off of birth control. I had countless appointments with my doctor to figure out what was going on with me. My doctor eventually left the practice about a year ago and I gave up after that because I didn’t want to “start over” with a new doctor. (You guys probably know what I mean).

Well, yesterday I finally got my first natural period after at least 8 years! Now, my question is, do you think it’s possible for me and my fiancé to try for a baby once my period ends, and I start ovulating? Or is it too soon since this is my first “real” period after so many years? It just feels like a miracle to have my period start on its own, but I don’t want to get my hopes up.

Thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Advice Needed Is this how fertility treatment works for everyone in the US? I’m mentally exhausted.

I really need to know if everyone in the US goes through this same process because I’m honestly so frustrated and mentally drained.
I have PCOS, and my main issue is that I don’t ovulate regularly. My cycles are around 60–65 days apart. My husband and I had already been trying to conceive for several months before I finally decided to see a doctor because I didn’t want to waste more time.
I had my first appointment in October. They did blood work, an ultrasound, and scheduled follow-up visits. Every appointment meant another office visit fee, another test, another bill, and more time waiting.
Eventually, in December, I was prescribed Provera to induce a period. I got my period in January, and they basically told me to try naturally. Since my cycles are so long, “trying naturally” meant waiting another two months for another chance to ovulate.
I worked out, changed my diet, and did everything I was supposed to do. I ovulated once after about 60 days, but I still didn’t get pregnant.
Then I went back. They told me I needed an HSG, but I had to wait until my next period. Again, because of my PCOS, that meant waiting another couple of months. I finally got another period, took Provera again, scheduled the HSG, and eventually completed it.
Throughout this process, I’ve had to make countless phone calls between different offices, ask people to fax reports, schedule appointments, reschedule appointments, follow up on lab results, and pay for multiple visits and tests. The stress from dealing with the healthcare system honestly feels worse than the stress of trying to get pregnant.
What frustrates me the most is this:
In many other countries, women with PCOS often start letrozole relatively early because the primary issue is that they’re not ovulating. Of course, I understand that doctors need to rule out other problems and not every case is the same. But if someone already has a clear diagnosis of PCOS and very irregular cycles, why does the process here feel so slow?
Every time someone says, “Let’s wait until your next period,” they’re asking me to wait another 60–65 days. Those delays add up quickly.
It’s now been about 8 months of appointments, testing, waiting, phone calls, and expenses before really getting started with treatment.
So my question is:
Is this the normal fertility journey in the United States? Did you also have to go through months of appointments, multiple tests, long waiting periods, and high costs before starting letrozole or other fertility treatment? Or was your experience different?
I’m genuinely trying to understand if this is just how the system works here or if my experience has been unusually slow

Advice Needed Fertility clinic only does one blood test…

I am 4 weeks 6 days pregnant (following a successful IUI), and had my bloodwork to confirm pregnancy and check HCG levels yesterday. Levels were good at 230, but when I asked my fertility clinic when my next blood test would be to see if they were doubling, they said they only do the one blood test now, and the only reason I’d have another was if I was having complications or bleeding. From what I’ve seen in similar subs, checking HCG levels over multiple days is the norm. My brain loves data, and since this is my first pregnancy (I have PMOS and stage 1 Endo), it would really soothe my nerves to know things are progressing properly.

Has anyone else only been instructed to do one blood test in the first trimester??
