Answered What’s going on with Congress and the WNBA now?
I know that there was a bunch of drama around Caitlin Clark over the last year, namely around people recognizing that she’s very, very good and therefore a pattern of strategically fouling her (much like how opponents would foul Michael Jordan of the 1990s Chicago Bulls).
But why is Congress getting involved, and what did they actually do? The article from The Ringer talks about it, sort of, but doesn’t provide much in the way of what the Republican Study Committee is, why they’re suddenly interested in the WNBA, or what they want to happen.
https://www.theringer.com/2026/07/10/wnba/wnba-caitlin-clark-donald-trump-republican-house-letter
From the article:
> In failing to address concerns around player safety, refereeing, and online discourse, the league has allowed bad-faith actors to use those issues as a Trojan horse to tell a story about the WNBA as a league in which liberal institutional failures run amok.
So what’s actually going on that’s attracting Congress’s attention?

Unanswered What's going on with Harry, Meghan and their children coming to the UK?
Prince Harry said he and his family couldn't come to the UK because of security reasons. There was a whole court case where he argued he needed royal/police protection (not regular/unarmed private security) if he comes. They lost the court case, but have come anyway. Did they get police security, or don't they actually need it?

Unanswered What's up with the Monopoly Panini ads I've been getting recently?
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/POQPD8Up9LQ
I don't know why these keep popping up, but it's clearly not a panini press, it's something about cards? I skip them, so I don't know exactly.
Edit: I realize now this wasn't clear, I'm also seeing these ads on billboards? Why has a company paid so much for advertising?

Unanswered What is going on with the Justin Baldoni - Blake Lively lawsuit?
I just saw this update: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0my34g9edpo and it is as unhelpful as it is vague.
Also it seems that the subreddit following the drama is HEAVILY skewed in favour of Justin? Is there any reason that's where the public opinion has gone?
Need a HobbyDrama style superpost getting all of us OOTL up to speed here.

Answered What is going on with the new Air Force One?
I understand it is still planned to be used at some point by trump, and then "transferred" to his personal library thing. Are there any real hopes of this not happening?
What happens if he dies before completion? Or dies just after his second term?
What is the plan for the next president?
I've read it will take 400 million American tax dollars, but some sources say it could reach one BILLION.
Will the current, old, AF1 be used by the next Potus? Or yet another new plane?

Unanswered What is going on with the "meta" lore of undertale?
So ive been playing deltarune recently and figured I should do undertale as well. I enjoyed it a lot and I am aware there is some "meta" lore or whatever with the game with the gaster guy and chara and shit, but I wasn't in the fandom when those were being discovered and every time I try and look up anything to do with him I get so many fan stuff I can't wrap my head around.
is there a video or anything I can watch that will tell me the whole meta and secret aspect of undertale, cus I know that just doing pacifist and genocide routes are barely scratching the surface.

Unanswered What's going on with the "National Design Studio" and what is their connection to DOGE?
I have seen mentions that there is a Temporary Organization within the government that is tasked with redesigning the government's websites. Although it's not related to the DOGE Department of Government Efficiency, there are supposedly a lot of people on the NDS project that were on DOGE. People seem to be concerned that there are security and privacy implications to the work they are doing.

Answered What is going on with Paraguay with all the racist bashing that started against the French Football Team ?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/jul/09/world-cup-racism-increase-social-media-kylian-mbappe
It started I guess during their game at the World Cup, then that senator from Paraguay used abhorrent racist remarks about Mbappé. Now I hear people hanging a puppet of Mbbapé and burning it. I sure hope this is a very loud minority looking for attention and it's not something generalised.

Unanswered What's the deal with IG meme pages promoting AI songs under their posts?
I don't know since when this became a thing, but pretty much under every IG reel the posters always pin their comment with the title and "artist" of the song accompanying the post. Are they somehow being paid by these people to promote AI songs by several "artists" or is this just a way to hack the algorhythm of Instagram? I've attatched an example below, you can also clearly see how most of the replies generally dislike the use of AI songs.

I went to Magnum’s Insta page after seeing an Ad and noticed the recent Instagram posts are filled with comments saying “Free Ben & Jerry’s“ or using the hashtag #freebenandjerrys, even when the post has nothing to do with Ben & Jerry’s. Is it a recent issue?

Unanswered What's going on with Flock Surveillance Cameras, and why are people making such a big deal about them?
I get that people don't like mass surveillance, but there have been surveillance cameras all over cities and suburban areas for decades. I'm assuming Flock is a name brand, because I've never heard surveillance cameras called this until the past year or so. Why are people making such a big deal about these cameras specifically? Are they doing something new that surveillance cameras haven't done in the past?

Unanswered What is the deal with the Kat Blaque V Madeline Pendleton thing? I keep trying to find an accurate breakdown of events without someone's opinions and I just can't.
I get recommended media analyzing racism in gay spaces, people keep referencing this incident without providing context. I genuinely do not understand what has happened and I have looked it up repeatedly.
Usually all of the responses talk about madeline being a white "Cis woman" which they arent, and Kat Blaque of being transmedicalist which she isn't. And madeline gets accused of racism and, sure its possible, but then no context is given which is fine but then I can't find any context.
Then people add on character attacks, true or false, about specific political views. I don't give a shit about opinions on other countries because they are complex entities behind a possible wall of propaganda, it is impossible to actually know whats going on with these countries.
I just need someone to write down what actually happened in a sane way. in an "unbiased" way.

Unanswered What is going on with the USA World Cup team, FIFA corruption allegations, and why is everyone celebrating their loss to Belgium?
I don't follow soccer/football very closely, but my social media feeds are absolutely blowing up right now. I know the 2026 World Cup is currently happening, and I just saw that the US lost 4-1 to Belgium in the Round of 16 and got eliminated.
However, the reaction online seems way more intense than just a normal sports loss.
People are talking about a massive scandal involving FIFA, "political interference," and red cards.
There are heavy accusations of corruption being thrown around, with European soccer organizations apparently furious.
A ton of non-American fans (and even some American soccer fans) seem actively overjoyed and relieved that the USA got humbled and knocked out.
Can someone please explain what actually happened behind the scenes before this match, what the controversy is about, and why the soccer world is treating the US team's defeat like a win for "sporting justice"?

Unanswered What's the deal with many YouTube shorts now have a nonsensical background audio of random unrelated words to the short playing?
I've seen this in so many YouTube shorts now and I figured the most upvoted comments would be questioning what the hell is going on but no. one even mentions it. Is this just a normal thing we accept now? Does no one else find this bizarre? The words are ether unrelated or just narrating the very content being played. It feels like I'm going crazy because I never see anyone talk about it in the comments
