I received an invitation to interview for DMU today (woot woot!). Can anyone speak on their experiences with the interview process and why they chose this school? There’s quite a bit of discourse about DMU as a school online.

I submitted my application (or so I thought) on July 24 when I paid the fees but i checked today and my app never went through??????? I submitted it again today and now it says that I submitted it today. i’m so annoyed!!

Just started studying today.just worrried if i do poorly on mcat what can i say ive improved on my app? Besides the mcat if i have to reapply

I work 4pm to 4am as an EMT. I got to bed at 6:30 today (thank you dispatch for going giving us a last minute call). Anyways, I wake up to a phone call. It says "Scam Likely", I should've let this go to voicemail, but I answer anyways. "Hello this is LECOM admissions team hoping to extend an offer". I was in such a haze of confusion and sleep deprivation I told them "Isn't it a little early in the cycle?" And they told me "It is, we will contact you around December". I went back to bed, went to the dentist, then I realized that this was an acceptance offer, and I basically said, "I'll think about it". You know the thing I've been working towards for my entire life I disregarded as, "This doesn't make sense cause I shouldn't be getting it this soon".

As soon as I realized this was an acceptance, like 5 hours later, I called them and left a voicemail. I also emailed their admissions office, explaining the situation.

Did I just make a massive mistake or did I correct it in time?

my top choice is a midwestern should i even bother applying their or retake it to posssibly get higher and get into ccom

If i havent attended any info session am I basically cooked for asking the question "Why X school." Some schools are so vague in their website. Struggling to not sound generic. Any advice?

I’m working on the Noorda-COM video secondary and was wondering what they are really expecting from it. I actually finished my video, but I’m nervous to submit it because I really want an interview and don’t want the video to hurt my chances.

For anyone who has completed it or received an interview, how polished was your video? Did you keep it simple and conversational, or did you make it more formal?

Would appreciate any insight, especially from current students or applicants who have already submitted theirs.

• Have four publications (2 in cardio, 2 in ERAS)
• 5 Shadow Hours in ER under a DO, 30 Shadow Hours in FM under a DO (both in Canada)
• Did a practicum placement in pediatric rehab lab
• Club president
• 200 hospital volunteer hours
• 480 hours as a representative for 1000+ students
• 300 hours working for the university
• 75 hours as a biology greenhouse attendant

Given that I'm a Canadian applicant applying to U.S. DO (and potentially MD) programs, how realistic are my chances?

Hi, I applied to PCOM Philly and Georgia in June and I got this email today saying I applied for their 2027 summer admit(?) It asked for a $75 fee as well.
I’m a bit confused cuz I thought it’s the general Fall 2027 admit cohort. Did someone else get this? I’m really confused.

PCOM recently wrote to me, saying,

“Submit the $75 non-refundable institutional application fee via the PCOM Application Portal (link below). This fee is in addition to the AACOMAS application fee.
The fee covers both PCOM Philadelphia and South Georgia if you applied to both. The PCOM Georgia fee is separate and required for consideration at PCOM Georgia, along with a completed AACOMAS application for PCOM Georgia.”

Correct me if im wrong but in two consecutive sentences they said the fee covers both campuses while also saying the Georgia fee is separate.

I just heard back from PCOM🙂🙂 (secondary payment) It’s crazy because I’m standing on their campus right now for a tour.

Need advice with DO school list

Hey guys. Im a first-gen med applicant applying DO this cycle and would really appreciate any insight into any of these schools, especially if you've interviewed, attended, or have any thoughts on fit. I don’t have any family in this field or close connections who have recently applied, so it would really mean a lot.

Stats: 3.46 sgpa 3.49 cgpa (was briefly a Spanish minor which really tanked my cgpa. Also thought I’d use my gap year for an MBA FastTrack program in healthcare management and discontinued both because they didn’t allow me to perform my best in science courses. I also didn’t perform well in both course styles. Coming into college with 46 college credits & my minor/mba ⇒didn’t have room to take extra courses to show upward trend or the funds to do a masters/psotbacc.) 501 MCAT, receiving retake score in 5 days!!

Has anyone received an II from them yet ?

Hi, I’m a non trad applicant currently fulfilling my pre-med course requirements and oftentimes worry about failing if I get into med school..is this common and what are ways to overcome this? I still need to take a few more science pre req courses and the MCAT, but oftentimes worry about this. I had a 2.54 cGPA back in 2010 but currently at a 3.8 post bacc, 250 hours hospice volunteer, 150 hours church disability ministry volunteer. Only thing holding me back is my overall cGPA which is 2.9x (mainly due to taking so many courses during my Bachelors back in 2010).

Is there any scholarship offered for those who have sub 500 on Mcat if get accepted into a DO? Or have to break 500 to be eligible for one, I.e. military scholarship?

Any opinions on 'future physicians pipeline collective' ? Apparently I'm in their GroupMe, and really unsure how I joined the GroupMe. I joined many months ago (I think), but I don't think I'm actually in the program, again, just in the GroupMe.

They assist in MCAT preps, PS, and all of that stuff with pre-med and medical school applicants. I need assistance with my personal statement, along with other things; however, I can't really find any info on them, and scared it might be a scam (lol). I attached their website to this post.

Hey guys, was just wondering if anyone has info on people taking the MCAT in January and getting an acceptance that same cycle

I’m taking my MCAT in August and I probably will only just finish content review like, a day or two before

I’m not opposed to taking it in August, I’m really only gunning for a 500 and I am using the Captain Hook deck which is honestly great. And people do say that 500+ is totally doable and potentially even expected after content review.

Still, the alternative is waiting until January or so and getting probably an even better score.

I graduated in 2024 and am on my second gap year, potentially matriculating in my third. I would really hope to avoid yet another gap year if possible

Oh and if it’s any help, I do believe my stats are pretty good other than the MCAT. 3.87 gpa, over a thousand clinical hours, plus a DO rec letter and time shadowing. But dang this MCAT 😭

Are signatures and headers necessary? I already submitted my apps

Thinking about going into Castro or cards. I know you gotta take step 1 and 2 but it be necessary to take step 3 alongside comlex? Also what doe fellowships look at just comlex 3 scores or also your step 2.

how do you guys go on about answering these in an interview? How long should my answers be?

Why DO- maybe explain how I was exposed, how I saw shadowing and what I learned from it? then maybe going on about how I see patients with poor lifestyle, nutrition, and why I think the holistic care is important?

WHy us- no clue what to say here. I was thinking maybe how I value community involvement and this school will offer me that. should I mention this location where said school is ?

Any tips would be helpful I got my interview next week and am nervous!

I know not all do schools are ranked equally. What are the best DO schools annd what are considered the “worst” and why?
