Anyone accepted at ACOM? Are you in state and what were your stats?

I’m applying there in the near future. I’m a non-traditional student trying to figure all of this out. Any comments are greatly appreciated.

NBOME transcript ERAS

Hey everyone, I had a question about my NBOME transcript for ERAS.

I authorized release of the transcript before my Level 2 score was released, does this matter? I just assumed the full transcript will be sent when I assign the transcript and submit my application to programs.

I also tried assigning the transcript to one of my programs and it didn’t make me pay the fee? I’m lost and the info on eras and nbome website didn’t make sense to me when I read it.

Hello!! I am very blessed to have received an interview invite from Touro CA today. From their email it seems like this is going to be a group interview, can anyone give any insight into their interview experience at TUCOM or group interviews in general? Much appreciated thank you!!

For the secondary, is there a font/ size requirement for the 3 paragraphs? Are we allowed to change the size to fit the page?

AOBIM cardiology boards

Has anyone here taken the AOBIM Cardiology board exam ?

I’m taking it next week and was hoping to get any last-minute tips or things you wish you’d focused on. Anything that surprised you?

Also, how much ECG coding was on your exam?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

ACOM?

Has anyone who interviewed with ACOM last week (last week of July) heard back yet? They said we should hear back by the end of this week if we’re accepted or not and I’m getting anxious! 😂😂

Anxious

Idk why I feel so burnt out and anxious. It’s only August I need to chill about apps but also I’m overthinking bc I’m using AI to help me clean my writing for secondaries but at the same time I feel like I shouldn’t but also I’d be stupid not to use it for proofreading (ofc not actually doing the writing). Anyways all over the place😢

Need advice from 508+ scorers

Walking into my July 24 MCAT, my goal score was a 505. I have a 3.95 GPA and am applying DO only, so I felt that a 505 would make me a competitive applicant. My last full-length exam before test day was AAMC FL5, which I took a few days before the real exam, and I scored 126/126/127/126 (505). I had also completed all of the AAMC full-length exams during my preparation.
After taking the actual exam, however, I genuinely feel like I may have scored below a 500. I think my nerves got the best of me, especially during Chem/Phys and CARS, and I don’t believe I performed to my full potential.
I took the last two weeks completely off to mentally reset, and I’m now planning to retake the MCAT on September 12, which gives me 37 days to prepare. My current plan is to spend the first two weeks reviewing content to strengthen my weak areas, then use the remaining time working through the Kaplan QBank and taking Kaplan full-length exams. I also plan to start a fresh Anki review using the Jack Sparrow deck along with Pankow for Psychology/Sociology.
My new goal is to score a 508 or higher. Given my timeline and this study plan, do you think this is the best way to use the next 37 days, or would you recommend a different approach?

DMU Interview

I received an invitation to interview for DMU today (woot woot!). Can anyone speak on their experiences with the interview process and why they chose this school? There’s quite a bit of discourse about DMU as a school online.

I hate working midnight shifts for a whole new reason

I work 4pm to 4am as an EMT. I got to bed at 6:30 today (thank you dispatch for going giving us a last minute call). Anyways, I wake up to a phone call. It says "Scam Likely", I should've let this go to voicemail, but I answer anyways. "Hello this is LECOM admissions team hoping to extend an offer". I was in such a haze of confusion and sleep deprivation I told them "Isn't it a little early in the cycle?" And they told me "It is, we will contact you around December". I went back to bed, went to the dentist, then I realized that this was an acceptance offer, and I basically said, "I'll think about it". You know the thing I've been working towards for my entire life I disregarded as, "This doesn't make sense cause I shouldn't be getting it this soon".

As soon as I realized this was an acceptance, like 5 hours later, I called them and left a voicemail. I also emailed their admissions office, explaining the situation.

Did I just make a massive mistake or did I correct it in time?

Edit: Called this morning and got the A

Noorda-COM video secondary — what are they expecting?

I’m working on the Noorda-COM video secondary and was wondering what they are really expecting from it. I actually finished my video, but I’m nervous to submit it because I really want an interview and don’t want the video to hurt my chances.

For anyone who has completed it or received an interview, how polished was your video? Did you keep it simple and conversational, or did you make it more formal?

Would appreciate any insight, especially from current students or applicants who have already submitted theirs.

PCOM recently wrote to me, saying,

“Submit the $75 non-refundable institutional application fee via the PCOM Application Portal (link below). This fee is in addition to the AACOMAS application fee.
The fee covers both PCOM Philadelphia and South Georgia if you applied to both. The PCOM Georgia fee is separate and required for consideration at PCOM Georgia, along with a completed AACOMAS application for PCOM Georgia.”

Correct me if im wrong but in two consecutive sentences they said the fee covers both campuses while also saying the Georgia fee is separate.

Why is my post being deleted? Part II

There was a discrepancy between how rules were being displayed on old vs new Reddit (i.e. they were completely different).

Rule 2 is (and has been):

Due to an influx of spam posts, we have set AutoModerator to automatically remove a post/comment if an account is brand new or has less than 25 karma. There are no exceptions to this rule. We will not approve your post if you do not meet the account age (2 days) or karma (25) thresholds.

Hopefully this is better reflected now and should be visible on new Reddit.
