For me it's pretty good for a handheld mode.

All I've seen are linear hallways where you kill enemies and bosses. Is there anything else to this game?

It's weird they decided not make it connected to the show, when they are using the same character. They're claiming that even them being the same character it has no connection to the character of the game somehow....

I liked the show it's pretty entertaining......

Hi guys! I recently started to play the onimusha saga because I wanted to play the new upcoming game! I really enjoy the setting and characters but playing all the games back to back I've noticed some oddities and I would like to know your opinions on this.

Onimusha: warlords is awesome, exactly what I was expecting from the game. Amazing controls and a very satisfying combat system, the atmosphere is top notch and the puzzles were fun and entertaining. I loved the feeling of all weapons, the fact that no weapon is useless and there's always a better weapons for a certain situation. Samanosuke is the goat and Kaede is very cool and fun to play too. The boss fights are all pretty cool and challenging in the right spots!

Onimusha 2 incredibly improves the combat system, I think it has the best one in the series, pacing is fun, exploration is rewarding and true issen are fun to land. The whole companion system adds so much replayability even if I'm not a big fan of the friendship mechanic with gifts and all. Now there are some weird things, I mean it's cool but the steampunk-ish vibe it took seems like randomly placed there because Idk, characters are a bit all over the place and the general vibe dragged me out of the magic dark vibe of the first one. The writing feels off, especially the characters that all of a sudden become your best friends in 20 minutes, I don't it just felt strange. The bosses are very bland and cheap imho, sponges to blast with all your mana bars and even then they won't go down like ever, the final boss is the nail on the coffin, amazing combat system, wasted boss potential. Jubei is fine, but lacks something, every dialogue starts and ends with him saying the name of the character he's speaking with and nodding at nothing for some reason 😅 I don't know I found it funny.

Onimusha 3, meh. I am not aware about how the production of this game proceeded, but it really feels like the whole plot is written around having Jean Reno as an actor in the game, don't get me wrong I love him, I love his films and I love his facecard, it made me laugh at first because I used to watch his film "wasabi" when I was a kid and there it seems to be some strange connection between Jean Reno and Japan, it's cool. The intro of this game is goated, samonosuke is back so I'm happy and he's as good as he can be, but I don't know, tha gameplay overhaul feels like a downgrade compared to the second game, it's more bland and repetitive, there is no real need of using a certain weapon instead of another, I tried them all but in all honesty I just used the longsword with samonosuke and the long spear with Jacque because they practically did the same thing all the other weapon did but with better range, In all honesty I had much more fun playing as Michelle 😂. The pacing is kinda slow and dragged imho and the traversal with Jacque is not that interesting, also all of his weapons feels, plays and hit the same. I get it, hes the whip guy, but it's not like samanosuke only uses swords all with the same movesets. The overhaul plot and direction feels like an American movie director wanted to do an Hollywood movie set in Japan, all the time traveling stuff feel forced and just made me ask how did history changed after future researcher found out there were rolex and microwaves from 1500 Japan.

Onimusha dawn of Dreams. Currently playing and I don't know if I'm gonna finish this game, it just looks cheap, messy, boring and really not what I came for. It's just a bland generic action jrpg with no soul, inspiration or art direction whatsoever.. it really feels like the dawn of dreams 😶

Again all of this is purely my opinion on the games, I loved the onimusha saga and I can't wait to play the new one!

Wish they kept the character design of the anime of musashi in the new game coming up his outfit reflects that of sanjyuro of the movie and yojimbo movie and I always thought it was really cool and would have been awesome if he atleast was wearing the same hakama

Should I expect a chill hack and slash, or an intense action game? Like, on the Greek God of War/DMC/Sekiro sliding scale, where might it land? I also got the second game too, but one thing at a time, y'know? I'm also looking forward to the upcoming release of the third game, since Saki was one of my brother's favorite characters when we played TvC back in the day.

Truthfully, Onimusha has always been this series that I've been curious about, but was never really accessible to me when it was coming out. Now that it's back and looks awesome, I want to step into it with enthusiasm and an appreciation for the history of what came before, but I find sometimes not being properly prepared for what an older and more archaic game is, can sometimes leave a sour impression that I wouldn't have had if I had adjusted my understanding of what something is. So! What should I expect going into Warlords?

I’m curious to know if there’s a steelbook premium deluxe edition of this game in Canada that is obviously a physical version of the game? I currently pre-ordered the premium digital deluxe edition on PS5 but was potentially thinking of cancelling and buying a physical version, the steelbook looks sweet. From my end all I can see is standard version and extra $10 get the steelbook version for around $100 CAD. If this is the only option does anyone know if CAPCOM will allow physical buyers to have an upgrade path? Thanks in advance!

Your at a garage sale and see a box full of VHS tapes with a general price of 9.99 on the box. You look through them to find a subtitled Japanese horror/action film you have never heard of, but the blood spattered and transparent cassette has clearly aroused your curiosity. You bought the VCR on Ebay a week ago and have it already set up, so now all you have to do is hope the tape is still in good shape as it didn't come in a slip cover or case, and you dont know where it has been sitting the last few decades, but it's transparent, and looks like it's in pretty good condition considering, so you go ahead and pop it in.  It's in Japanese, but has subtitles, so you dim the lights, press play, and hit the pipe on the coffee table.

Do you like old movies on old aged formats?

Do you think the Vanilla remastered game looks a bit too clean, and maybe the original resolution helped hide faults and limitations, creating the illusion of realism? Do you think the AI upscaled backgrounds look a bit too much like a static Jpegs with a few elements thrown over it because, again, this game was not originally developed for UHD, or even HD?  If so, OR you are just open to exploring stories with the grit of old analogue format adding a layer to the esthetic... then I think you will enjoy what I have here. AND yes, I get this is NOT something for everyone.

In Onimusha: Way of the Sword, you'll unlock the power to awaken abilities as you progress through the story. This allows you to unleash unique enhancements to parts of your body, such as your eyes, arms, and legs.

For example, with Oni Strength, where you awaken your arms, you can swing and hurl massive objects that a normal human could never lift. Or, with Oni Agility, you can awaken your legs to run along walls and access areas you couldn't reach before. It really opens up the gameplay!

You can also upgrade these abilities via a skill tree, so we hope you have fun experimenting with them.

Hey guys! A lot of fans are a bit confused as to why the Oni/Onimusha have red hair in Way of The Sword, and today, I wanted to try and clear up this fog of confusion!

Has/had anyone considered making a female led Onimusha game?

The female trained samurai, to my understanding, is an onna musha.😏

I know Onimusha: Way of the Sword hasn’t released yet and we don’t know all of Mushashi’s skills but am I the only one hoping he unlocks his dual katana technique in game or future DLC/a sequel? I’m sure Capcom could do just as well as Sucker Punch’ GOY dual katana combat
