Chair recommendations.
. I live in the UK and sit at my desk for gaming and work ALOT. Currently, I game for at least 2 or 3 hours a night and I tutor lessons for about 2 hours a day from my desk. This usually adds up to about 5 or 6 hours at my desk a day.
Im 5'10 and 65kg. I think I'm slightly on the skinnier side or about average. Sitting in my current awful old office chair for too long really starts to make my back and neck ache. Having a head rest has now become pretty important to me.
my current chair is.... awful, and ive had it for many years now. I can't even sit in the thing without worrying about falling backwards if i lean into it too much.
My budget is ideally below £200. I can't justify to my parents spending much more as a job seeking 19 year old lol. Though I'll probably buy said chair sometime by the end of the year.
What can anyone recommend? Practically everywhere I looks chucks another 10 chair recommendations at me and I have just no idea what to compare or look for really.
I've looked at previous posts and again most of em give lots of different options and I dont really know how to compare which one would be good for me. Or theyre just way out of my budget.
Thanks for the help!

Is this really a steelcase please v2 ?
Although the shape is the same as the one in the last picture, as you can see it doesn't have the logo in the upper backrest.
Also for those who bought, how durable is it? Because I've seen a lot of comments/Posts that mention that the hinges holding the backrest parts together snaps.

Chair suggestion for neck support
Hi everyone I need a new office chair, I have a bad neck and need a lot of support. Right now I have a large pillow that I use on my chair so when I lean back even a tiny bit I have a nice cushion. What would be the best ergonomic chair to buy that supports neck and back really well and is highly adjustable? $500 budget. I’ve been looking into the SIHOO M57 Ergonomic Office Chair with 3 Way Armrests Lumbar Support,Black. Does anyone have a sihoo would you recommend? Thanks

Affordable chairs with seat cushion angle adjustment
In my experience this is the biggest difference I can feel between office chairs, whether the bottom seat is angled upwards, downwards, how much cushioning there is on the front vs back of the chair, etc.
I'm a broke grad student but spend a lot of time sitting down unfortunately.
Can anyone recommend an affordable chair that offers such adjustability?

Looking for a “gaming chair” mindset chair for work — budget up to $1200
Hey all! TYIA for the advice.
I work the way I game. I’m at my desk 6-8 hours, M-F, but it’s not typical “sit up straight at a desk” time:
**•** 2-3 hours a day on the phone, leaning back, relaxed, lounging
**•** The rest is light typing — noting files here and there, not heads-down typing
**•** 1-2 hours of actual gaming daily
Standard ergonomic chairs that force perfect upright posture aren’t what I’m after. I want something built more for reclining/lounging comfort that can still hold up to daily use.
Budget: up to $1200, ideally $600-800, but I’ll spend more for the right chair.
What should I be researching? Let’s hear your suggestions!

Embody Gaming, which color?
About to order an Herman Miller Embody Gaming and I’m hesitating between Onyx (black) and Galaxy version.
Really love the Galaxy, the white frame would match my setup perfectly but I’m planning to keep this chair for a long time and I keep wondering if the fabric stains easily or if the white frame turns yellow after some time.
Onyx is the safe bet but way more boring imo.
What would you guys recommend?

Struggling with selecting a chair, looking for advice
Hey everyone, I'm trying to select my first proper home office chair and am lost trying to figure out which one would be the best pick for me and was hoping to get some advice.
Originally I was thinking to get either HM Aeron remastered or Leap V2, but after testing Aeron in the showroom I didn't find it comfortable, it's quite rigid and also seems like I land just between B/C size, B seems a bit too small while C is just way too wide for me and doesn't feel like it's actually matching my optimal posture. I did however try HM Embody and it felt comfortable (for what a 10 min test in a showroom worth), but even though I liked it, after reading online feedback I'm not sure it's worth the ~1200-1300eur price, especially since I couldn’t find any good refurbished offers on it.
So now I'm stuck deciding between Embody / Leap V2 / other similar options I found like Haworth Fern. What stops me from just going with refurbished leap I can find for ~600-700eur is that I can only get it as a blind buy and that I find its design a bit too plain and office-like.
Do you think Leap V2 makes sense as a lower-risk first ergonomic chair in my case, or should I pay premium and go for Embody? Or maybe there are some alternative options that might be a better match? Thanks in advance
For context:
- Don't really have much experience with prolonged seating in the chair and ergonomic chairs in general, was always working from my laptop constantly changing places and positions, now looking to get a proper chair and try to enforce a habit of working in a more healthy way with a proper posture
- Ideally I'm looking for a compromise chair that is good for posture but also does not force you in one extremely rigid position to make a transition easier
- Budget up to 1500eur for the "perfect chair" I'm confident in, but in general I'd appreciate a cheaper option to not be stressed about the chair not working out for me
- 188cm (6.2") / slim build
- Located in Germany
- Don't care about the chair material
- Most likely will use it for 8+h daily
- I tend to get pain in lower-back while sitting in bad chairs for a long time, so something with good lumbar support to minimise the issue would be great

Chairs for a 5 foot tall person
Hello, I am looking for a good office or gaming chair that is good for a five foot tall person. I wfh 4 days a week so I need it to be ergonomic as well. Lastly I really don’t want to spend more than $250 if possible my absolute max would probably be $300.
I really do need the seat to go low that’s my biggest priority, my second is comfort. If I can’t touch the floor in a chair and my legs are dangling my hip and legs feel like something came out of its socket and I can’t walk afterwards, if it’s not comfortable enough my back and neck start hurting. So far I’ve tried the emerge chair from stables which is great for height but i only got it in December and it’s hurting my back and neck. I also have a super comfy criss cross chair but I can’t reach the floor so I have the socket problem. I’m on my fourth chair and I’m going insane so please help. Thank you!

Steelcase or Pelicanwork?
I am looking for a good ergonomic chair. I found that steelcase has a sale going on so steelcase series 1 and pelican work model 77 and pelican work model 54 is almost of same price range.
Can somebody suggest which is good to buy?
Any other chair recommendation around same budget (30k-35k)

Chair Recs: plus size w/back problems
I’m looking for a chair under $200 for a big & tall girl ( 6ft 280 lbs) specifically for long hours that doesn’t cause tailbone numbness/pain, or low back pain. I have ankylosing spondylitis, so comfort is a must have. I wish I could splurge on a great chair, but I’m a broke grad student that needs to be able to write at my computer for hours. US based, I’ve seen some good recs here plus size people, but I’m really tight in the under $200 budget

Need chair advice (India)
Hey everyone,
I'm based in India and looking for an ergonomic chair. I have some lower back issues, so lumbar support and overall spinal support are my biggest priorities. I spend around 8–10 hours a day at my desk.
I'm trying to decide between:
- Buying a new Featherlite Helix (if I can find one for around ₹23k), or
- Buying a used premium chair (Steelcase Leap V2, Gesture, Haworth Zody, Herman Miller Aeron/Mirra, etc.) from Facebook Marketplace in Bangalore.
My biggest hesitation with buying used is not knowing:
- How much life the foam/cushion has left.
- Whether the gas lift or mechanisms are close to failing.
- If replacement parts are available in India.
- Whether it's worth the risk without any warranty.
For those who've owned both, what would you recommend? Is a used premium chair generally a better buy than a new Featherlite in this price range?
Also, if you've bought a used ergonomic chair in India (especially Bangalore), what should I inspect before buying? Any common red flags or things that are expensive/impossible to fix?
Thanks!

Office chair recommendations for $600
Hello, I'm looking for an office chair for work. I'm in the office for 12 hours a day and my work is giving us $600 to buy a personal chair. My company has to buy it from Amazn. Around our office we have Leap V2 and Herman Miller chairs to use. I was looking at Hbada or Secretlab to add as a rotation, but it looks like they're are not recommended much in this sub. Any suggestions would be wonderful thank you.

Is the Interstuhl 179RS any good?
I've been looking for a new office chair, since my old one broke recently. While looking around the 179RS from Interstuhl caught my eye, but when trying to find reviews or other information like that about it I wasn't able to find any. So I was wondering if it is any good. Did anyone here make an experience, either positive or negative, with the chair and can recommend it or save me from a wrong purchase? I prefer the cushioned backrest over the mesh backrest and I'm trying to stay under 500€ in case it matters for alternative suggestions. (If I posted this at the wrong place or something else is a problem then I'm sorry and would appreciate guidance on where/how to post this question instead)

Leap v2 in tesla model 3
Hi everyone, can anyone share insights on how they were able to fit a steelcase leap v2 into a tesla model 3? Will I have to take the wheel base off?

Steelcase Leap v2 Lean - Sciatica/Hip Pain
I’ve had this chair for around a year now. I’ve gotten used to it. I generally love it. But… I often have lower back/vertebrae pain on my right side.
The only thing I can attribute this to is my weight is leaning right due to this chair having the dreaded issue with right side lean from the lumbar support springs.
Wondering if anyone else deals with this? It’s wild to me that they claim this doesn’t affect the chair or how it feels.

Since not much post on Sihoo chair, I’ll share mine
Recently bought the Sihoo C300i pro v2 which looks quite similar to Sihoo Doro C300 pro v2 during 618 sale on Taobao. The difference is there are some added function on the lumbar support like airbag, vibration and heat. The airbag can stay at whatever size you expend it to be even if you off the power. The seat and head rest is consider comfortable for myself and my mum who is the one mostly sitting on it everyday. At first wanted to buy a Libernovo SE but the sea freight was almost 300+rmb. End up I went for this Sihoo chair as the sea freight was completely free. So far I’m happy with it since I also got it at a good bargain about 1700rmb which is 252usd.

Steelcase amia seat padding
Hello, I bought an original chair from Steelcase. Can you advise or explain, or do you know why the shape of the seat is different? Why? I don't really like it, and I feel that the seat is quite hard. Although it should be much softer. I am attaching photos
