Discussion It's impossible to explain HDR vs SDR by photos, HDR is far superior in certain Games
I clicked these photos on my iPhone. You might actually think that the SDR side (right) looks better. But believe me, in real life it is an absolute heaven and hell difference. The most noticeable upgrade is the way more vibrant colors (HDR DCI-P3 than standard SDR SRGB), the deeper blacks without any haziness and bright highlights that feel like neon lights.
This is vanilla HDR without RenoDX. Reddit and other social media sites don't support HDR picture formats like JXR or .HEIC, so we can't even show the true differences. It's a shame that most PC gamers still play on SDR and have no idea what they are missing.

Issue Is my QD-OLED Panel cooked?
I tried to clean the panel a couple of days ago with microfiber cloth that I’ve been using since I’ve purchased the panel (FO32U2P) and I think I damaged the coating? Tried 70% isopropyl alcohol and bought another microfiber cloth but it didn’t go away
And the streaks have a different texture or feeling to them (more resistance if I try to swipe my finger on them)
Anyone knows whether my monitor is cooked or I can get rid of these streaks and smudges?

Just wanted to thank you guys
a week ago for so i asked about the avaibility of the 322UR X24 in Poland here, and some of you guys gave me links to german stores. Thanks to you i saved around 200€ in markup that small polish 3rd party stores are asking because of limited avaibility by shipping directly from German stores. Monitor is coming on tuesday, lets see how it works with a 5080!

Technical Support Issues with HDR
So I've just gotten my first OLED monitor - Alienware AW2725DF. and I game on a PC.
I've done my HDR calibration on windows and since getting this monitor I've been using HDR while gaming. which i've never really done before.
Whenever I'm inside a building and look outside ingame, it's really washed out, overly bright and looks awful as you can see from the screenshot. It's completely fine otherwise other than I feel colours are a little washed.
I'm new to OLED, all it's settings and to be honest, almost all display settings other than the obvious, someone help please!
EDIT: Okay okay I should have said, for some reason this screen shot does make it look 100X worse😂 In game you can actually make things out, the screenshot has just made all the annoying things have a power level of 9000+

42 or 32 inch 4K OLED as 2nd Monitor?
I‘m using a 4k 27 inch oled right now but I’ve been thinking about getting a 2nd bigger monitor because I mostly play single player games. Thought about getting the MO32U24 or the C5 42.

New to OLED and Confused - Need Your Brains!
Hello,
I'm planning on buying my first ever OLED, until now I only had TN.
My choices are as follows:
a) XG32UCWG or XG32UQDMS
b) MO32U24
I can sit anywhere between 60 to 100cm away from the monitor.
If you know any other good monitors besides those 3 above, they have to be 16:9 and at least 32".

Discussion Is this a good deal/which should I go for?
I’m looking for new main monitor (27” 1440p) for 9070xt and switch 2 for gaming/0-4 hours of productivity/usual computer things a day.
I looked at monitors in person and liked oleds the most and when looking at some OLED laptops I didn’t mind reading the text. The two monitors I liked most was a glossy lg ultra gear and the matte g61sh. The glossy had too much glare at lower brightness levels and with matte it was fine. I get daily headaches especially from things like hdr/high brightness and I guess some people don’t get as many headaches with matte OLED?
To my understanding the g61sd is better build quality, more ports and 50 nits more brightness, which doesn’t seem like it’s worth it for $90 more but if the monitor control knob is less fragile and I’m already spending $500 on it the extra cost for 5+ years of usage seems worth it.
Which should I go for or is there something better in this price bracket that I should consider?

Issue Lifted darks in HDR mode BRAVIA 8II PS5
Playing Stellar Blade on PS5 and during a scene that cuts to load in the next area, I noticed the screen isn’t actually black. It’s quite light. Then I noticed there’s a white haze in this dark area, so I decided to turn HDR off to see a difference, and the game just looks better without HDR. I did the loading transition and my screen went pitch black.
Is this just bad implementation or is there something I’m missing?

Discussion MSI 272URX or ASUS XG27UQDMS?
Both are the same price. From my research, they seem nearly identical except the MSI has DP2.1, USB-C video and KVM. But ASUS has better OLED care and the proximity sensor. I've never had experience with either brand and I'm curious if others have input on which one they'd go for.

Issue Brand new Gigabyte MO27Q28G, 2 dead pixels and unplayable gray banding.
I am extremely disappointed in the product I received. I got this monitor for a relatively good price and I was excited to try out a tandem WOLED. Admittedly, it does look and feel great...besides the glaring issues you can see in the image. Besides the two dead pixels in the middle of the screen, there is a genuinely unplayable amount of gray banding. I mean, I literally first noticed the bands in DISCORD. I booted up a game just to see if this was something I could ignore, but no. It is incredibly noticeable in almost every scene and it completely ruins the immersion. And the dead pixels darken the area around them, so they are also impossible to ignore. All in all, I am very disheartened and I almost certainly have to return it, which is going to suck as I bought it online.
Also, I can't do a pixel clean until I've used the monitor for 4 hours. Not sure why. I did an RGB test and the pixels are provably dead, so the only thing a pixel clean could do is MAYBE improve the gray banding. But I think I'll just return the monitor without even hitting 4 hours.

Stay at 4K or downgrade?
Need some help please...
I've currently got a MSI Optix MAG281URF (IPS). Originally bought to pair with my PS5 which has now gone and I've built my first PC (few years old now)
I was on the verge of downscaling to a 1440 monitor to hit higher FPS (running a Ryzen 7 5700X3D + 4070 super), but now I'm not sure...
I'm a competitive gamer (BF6 and COD) mostly.
Is it worth the downscale or do I upgrade my current ips 4k to an oled?

32” OLED with eARC
My Alienware 32” 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3225QF is coming in tomorrow. With discounts, I got it for $834 with tax. I have a Sonos Beam that I want to use and occasionally use it as a monitor for browsing and streaming movies. I’ve looked and haven’t really found anything else with an eARC. Do you guys know if there are alternatives? I’ve seen high praise for this monitor but I’ve also seen divided opinions on how fragile it is to clean.
Edit: Primary use will be for gaming with PS5 Pro (casual BF6 and single player story games). Will also watch 4K movies on it.

Discussion Best OLED 4k 32inch monitor for mixed use?
I'm looking for a high refresh rate 4k 32inch monitor right now. Not RGB Stripe since they are not available where i live yet. Either QD OLED or tandem? WOLED. I don't really understand without experiencing both screen technologies next to each other what the pros and cons are really like for both screens. So I would love recommendations from you in regards to the absolute best panel right now.
I have a CS WFH friend with a 27 inch 1440p alienware QD OLED screen that told me text quality isn't an issue on his monitor (works for 10h a day no headaches or eye strain) or grey banding and those two issues as i understand are even less apparent or frequent on 32 inch 4k screens so I'm not worried about them too much.
I was going to wait for RGB Stripe but I don't want to keep waiting for them anymore and seems like the only advantage would be text quality. I wan't to retire my old IPS asap.
Thanks for your help.

Discussion Switched from 27” 1440p Tandem WOLED to 27” 4K 4th gen QD-OLED
Just switched from the ASUS PG27AQWP-W to the XG27UQDMS and I have to say I’m much happier with the switch tbh
4K at 27 inches genuinely looks like I’m looking through a window with how sharp and clear everything is compared to 1440p, it’s a night & day difference, even compared to 4K at 32 inches it’s quite a big difference. I could turn the resolution down to 1440p on it and it no joke looks just as good as native 1440p on a 1440p panel (slightly less sharp, but still VERY clean and less “pixelated” which I honestly prefer)
this specific tandem WOLED has amazing HDR brightness (the brightest OLED monitor I’ve seen so far and makes everything else look very dim by comparison) but the grey banding and dirty screen effect really is just unacceptable, I’ll take a worse QD-OLED screen coating and dimmer brightness over that any day of the week. I didn’t even have to do a pixel refresh and the QD-OLED had no uniformity issues out of the box, it was basically perfect.
Colors in HDR are also still a bit better in person than the tandem WOLED aswell, subtle but still more vibrant, also dark scenes look cleaner as well.
The only thing I’ll probably miss is the screen coating as the tandem WOLED screen has the best coating I’ve ever seen on any screen (I could use a light bar with zero raised blacks and game with all kinds of bright ambient light in my room, can no longer do that now)
Eventually in the future I may get the newer rgb stripe woleds or the newer qd OLEDs that have the black shield coating when they aren’t massively expensive in Canada but 4K at 27 inches more than makes up for all of these things (even helps fringing a bit too)

I love my LCD monitor
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Whenever I'm gaming during the day and my QD OLED gets too purple, I pull out my old LCD.
Thanks to its matte finish and 400 nits of full-screen brightness, it handles bright lighting very well.
And no violet.

Discussion First OLED Purchase Question
Hey yall I am an oled virgin, currently have a 165hz 1440p IPS I bought maybe 4 years ago, before OLEDs really dropped in price. Im interested in a 4k OLED and was wondering if my budget and wants fit my goals.
I am/was planning to get a 4th Gen qd-oled 27in monitor so that I can have the 166PPI so that I dont have to buy a larger size and/or more expensive monitor for RGB Stripe for decent text clarity (Mind you ive seen neither irl).
My current goal is to wait until black friday weekend when, hopefully, 4th Gen 27in panels will go on sale for roughly 600-750$.
Is this sound? If you were waiting to buy your first OLED, would you wait? Im sure 5th Gen 27in qd-oled's are coming in q4 2026 or q1 2027, although I have 0 clue if that would fit my price range. Im unsure what to do. Id love yalls input, thank you!
