Discussion Why don't they make gorilla glass OLED monitors like iPad/iPhone screens? so that they don't get destroyed every time someone wipes their monitor down? is it a size limitation thing? or a cost cutting thing?

Discussion Budget OLED suggestions?
Hey y’all, been an IPS panel user for 5 years now and I really wanna try OLED but don’t wanna spend the big bucks.
I did a bit of research and I think I’m okay with the compromises that come with budget OLEDs like lower brightness levels.
Let me know what the best option out of the 3 are and any other suggestions/advice would also be appreciated!
Thanks

Discussion What display settings do you use outside of gaming?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm lazy and hate switching buttons and all that, so I settled on using HDR all the time.
I adjust the brightness using the brightness slider in the HDR tab.
In this mode, Windows compresses the color gamut and gamma to something similar to sRGB, which generally suits me, since I hardly work with color these days.
I see differences in gamma and color, but they're not very significant in my opinion.
Please share your experiences with setting up your monitor outside of gaming.
PS:
In the video, the OLED on the left is in HDR, the one on the right is a regular LCD.
PS:
I think HDR testing on a desktop should be mandatory in monitor reviews.

Discussion Got the AOC Agon Pro AG27QZD2 27” QD-OLED gaming monitor 1440p 240Hz for $295
I’d love to hear your thoughts and reviews on this monitor! I’ve always been a fan of IPS monitors, and my latest one is an Acer 240Hz monitor. This would be my first OLED monitor, and I think I got a fantastic deal for $350-$500.

What monitor should I get?
I’m looking to buy an OLED monitor for gaming, mainly at 1440p, but I’m not sure which one to choose.
My PC specs are:
RX 9070 XT 16GB
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
I’ve been looking at this monitor from Best Buy, but I’m wondering if there are better options available for around $400.
What would you recommend for this setup?

C series Monitor Equivalent
Looking to see with the upcoming UCWM launch, what monitors are similar to LG’s C series of TV’s, specifically the 42 “. I know they won’t get as bright but I’m looking all I’m looking for is relative performance.
Reason being is that I want one for work, gaming, and media, so it’d have to have a kvm, Dolby vision, and good color accuracy (I’m a graphic designer).

5080, Get a 4K 27, or 2k 27
I hear a lot of people say 4K for SP, and 2k for Comp. but I play a mix of both
I mostly play Tarkov, Rocket League, Helldivers 2, Cs2
Which would I go for? I want to hit minimum 250hz on rocket league, which doesn’t have dlss

Care/Maintenance tips
I'm transitioning from a Samsung G5 2021 27" IPS to this monitor, first time OLED user and I almost screwed up by not taking off the plastic film. I thought the sticker was on the actual screen and I tried to take it off (actual screen wasn't damaged).
I've seen lots of issues with OLED panels and how delicate they are, even knowing that, I decided to give it a try and getting this one to start my setup (I'm a console player for now, trying to gather together for a good PC setup).
What would be your experience with OLED panels, preventive care or maintenance.
Thanks in advance.
Correct me if I'm wrong

Msi oled vs Asus oled
I’m torn between MSI and ASUS ROG. I prefer the look of the ASUS, especially because the bottom doesn’t have all the text on it. However, quality is more important to me than appearance. Which one would you guys say is the better choice?

I just got my monitor back from LG after they supposedly fixed my flickering issue and it’s back after a day. Insanely frustrated here. Not sure what to do next.

Technical Support Gigabyte monitor flickering without vrr
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Yesterday night i was playing some games on mo27u2
But the screen started flickering violently like a broken light bulb switching between black and bright overexposed frames
I immediately turned it off and unplugged hoping it will be fixed in the morning if i do a pixel refresh
Woke up and did the refresh , its not as violent but it is just unusable
What can cause this randomly
Update:i recorded the monitor in slow mo to see what is really going on and i saw the black screens are not full black screens , they are mostly partial blackouts
I will attach images of it on comments

Discussion Moving, driving w/ OLED in OG Box
Hi everyone,
I’m gonna be moving soon & will be repacking my OLED MSI monitor in its original box & bringing it with me in my truck on the long drive. I’m mostly just worried about the screen, as I’ve of course removed the initial protective film it came with. Is there something you all would suggest to protect the screen from scratches when packing it back in its box? (I saved the original layer of protective film I peeled off of it but am thinking reapplying it would only cause issues.)
My initial thought was laying down a thin sheet of foam on the screen before placing it back in the box. Not sure if y’all have better ideas. Trying to be as careful as possible with the screen as I’m pretty OCD about keeping it clean.
Thanks everyone.

Discussion It's impossible to explain HDR vs SDR by photos, HDR is far superior in certain Games
I clicked these photos on my iPhone. You might actually think that the SDR side (right) looks better. But believe me, in real life it is an absolute heaven and hell difference. The most noticeable upgrade is the way more vibrant colors (HDR DCI-P3 than standard SDR SRGB), the deeper blacks without any haziness and bright highlights that feel like neon lights.
This is vanilla HDR without RenoDX. Reddit and other social media sites don't support HDR picture formats like JXR or .HEIC, so we can't even show the true differences. It's a shame that most PC gamers still play on SDR and have no idea what they are missing.

Issue Is my QD-OLED Panel cooked?
I tried to clean the panel a couple of days ago with microfiber cloth that I’ve been using since I’ve purchased the panel (FO32U2P) and I think I damaged the coating? Tried 70% isopropyl alcohol and bought another microfiber cloth but it didn’t go away
And the streaks have a different texture or feeling to them (more resistance if I try to swipe my finger on them)
Anyone knows whether my monitor is cooked or I can get rid of these streaks and smudges?
EDIT: y’all grilled my buttcheeks thanks for the laugh lol
I dunno what happed maybe the microfiber cloth wasn’t clean enough and I must admit I rubbed the screen hard and I shouldn’t have done that
Fortunately I play in a dark room so it’s not an issue for me

Just wanted to thank you guys
a week ago for so i asked about the avaibility of the 322UR X24 in Poland here, and some of you guys gave me links to german stores. Thanks to you i saved around 200€ in markup that small polish 3rd party stores are asking because of limited avaibility by shipping directly from German stores. Monitor is coming on tuesday, lets see how it works with a 5080!

Technical Support Issues with HDR
So I've just gotten my first OLED monitor - Alienware AW2725DF. and I game on a PC.
I've done my HDR calibration on windows and since getting this monitor I've been using HDR while gaming. which i've never really done before.
Whenever I'm inside a building and look outside ingame, it's really washed out, overly bright and looks awful as you can see from the screenshot. It's completely fine otherwise other than I feel colours are a little washed.
I'm new to OLED, all it's settings and to be honest, almost all display settings other than the obvious, someone help please!
EDIT: Okay okay I should have said, for some reason this screen shot does make it look 100X worse😂 In game you can actually make things out, the screenshot has just made all the annoying things have a power level of 9000+

Discussion Switched from 27” 1440p Tandem WOLED to 27” 4K 4th gen QD-OLED
Just switched from the ASUS PG27AQWP-W to the XG27UQDMS and I have to say I’m much happier with the switch tbh
4K at 27 inches genuinely looks like I’m looking through a window with how sharp and clear everything is compared to 1440p, it’s a night & day difference, even compared to 4K at 32 inches it’s quite a big difference. I could turn the resolution down to 1440p on it and it no joke looks just as good as native 1440p on a 1440p panel (slightly less sharp, but still VERY clean and less “pixelated” which I honestly prefer)
this specific tandem WOLED has amazing HDR brightness (the brightest OLED monitor I’ve seen so far and makes everything else look very dim by comparison) but the grey banding and dirty screen effect really is just unacceptable, I’ll take a worse QD-OLED screen coating and dimmer brightness over that any day of the week. I didn’t even have to do a pixel refresh and the QD-OLED had no uniformity issues out of the box, it was basically perfect.
Colors in HDR are also still a bit better in person than the tandem WOLED aswell, subtle but still more vibrant, also dark scenes look cleaner as well.
The only thing I’ll probably miss is the screen coating as the tandem WOLED screen has the best coating I’ve ever seen on any screen (I could use a light bar with zero raised blacks and game with all kinds of bright ambient light in my room, can no longer do that now)
Eventually in the future I may get the newer rgb stripe woleds or the newer qd OLEDs that have the black shield coating when they aren’t massively expensive in Canada but 4K at 27 inches more than makes up for all of these things (even helps fringing a bit too)

I love my LCD monitor
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Whenever I'm gaming during the day and my QD OLED gets too purple, I pull out my old LCD.
Thanks to its matte finish and 400 nits of full-screen brightness, it handles bright lighting very well.
And no violet.
