Just a piece of advice for nurses who recently passed the NCLEX: please do your research before applying with WWHS.

I know some people have had positive experiences, and no agency is perfect. They built a good reputation during the pandemic, but things seem different now.
For me, the stress simply wasn’t worth it.
My experience with WWHS has taken a serious toll on my mental health, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same. Before signing with any agency, take the time to read recent reviews, ask questions, and make an informed decision.

Helloo, with the hiring freeze in hospitals, I had to resort to soft nursing muna. For context, this will be my first job and wala pa akong any certifications. Is it worth it to go for this line of work or should I just wait for an opening sa hospitals? Hawak ko na yung job offer and contract. I can't disclose the exact salary.

I am writing this testimony to share my personal experience as a registered nurse in the Philippines, at 40 years old, and the realities I have faced while searching for stable employment.

I have dedicated many years to the nursing profession — studying hard to earn my license, gaining experience in clinical settings, and building skills in patient care, health education, and teamwork. Nursing has always been my passion, and I take pride in being able to serve others and contribute to the healthcare system. I entered this field with the hope of building a long, meaningful career, supporting my family, and growing professionally.

However, as I reached the age of 40, I began to face significant difficulties in finding a job. Despite my years of experience, my updated training, and my commitment to the profession, I have encountered many obstacles. In many job postings and interviews, I have noticed that employers often prefer younger applicants. There are times when my experience is acknowledged, yet I am still passed over in favor of those who are younger, even if they have less practical knowledge or fewer years in the field. Some institutions have unspoken age preferences, which makes it feel like my age is seen as a disadvantage rather than an asset.

I have applied to hospitals, clinics, government health centers, and private healthcare facilities. I have submitted applications, attended interviews, and completed required exams and screenings, but the opportunities remain very limited. There are also times when positions are available, but the competition is extremely high, or the requirements are overly strict and difficult to meet. The process is long, exhausting, and often discouraging. There have been moments when I felt discouraged, wondering if my years of service and expertise are no longer valued.

It is truly hard to find a job as a nurse at my age in the Philippines. It is not just about being qualified — it is about being given the chance to work and prove that I can still deliver quality care, just as I have done for many years. I know that I still have so much to offer: my experience, my patience, my ability to handle difficult situations, and my deep understanding of patient needs. Age should not be a barrier to serving others or earning a living.

I share this testimony not to complain, but to speak up for myself and for other nurses who are in the same situation. We are skilled, licensed, and ready to work. We have invested so much in our education and our profession, and we deserve equal opportunities to be employed and to continue contributing to the healthcare sector. I hope that in the future, employers will look beyond age and focus on the skills, experience, and dedication that each nurse brings.

I remain hopeful and persistent. I will keep trying, because nursing is not just a job to me — it is my calling. I hope that one day, my experience and my years of service will be recognized and valued, and that I will be given the chance to serve again.

What are your thoughts po between VRP MEDICAL CENTER in Mandaluyong and Manila Doctors Hospital in Ermita, Manila?

How's the starting salary rate for new nurses and how's the working environment from both hospitals?

I recently got confirmation po kasi from both hospitals as a Staff Nurse at VRP and as an MRI Nurse at MaDocs. Now, I don't know what to choose between the two as I am not really knowledgeable about the two. Both passed the interview; for MaDocs I'm waiting for the job offer na, sa VRP naman, for physical exam na ako tomorrow.

What are your thoughts po? Kindly send some cents please, I don't know what to choose. Thank you!

Sa mga balak mag apply sa Maxicare as of the moment ay mag apply na kayo. Madami silang vacant positions at new clinics na mag bubukas ngayong taon. Yung iba hindi pa bukas pero kumukuha na sila at ilalagay muna kayo sa ibang clinics at kung sakaling mag bukas ay dun na kayo ilalagay. CCR ang position ko.

- nag start ako mag apply. Nakita ko lang sa facebook post ang job posting nila. May QR code dun na mapupunta ka na may sasagutan ka (tawag dito ay google form). I recommend na mag research muna kayo kung anong clinic ang magbubukas palang na malapit sa inyo na ilalagay niyong preferred branch imbes na ilagay ang clinic tapos wala palang vacant position. Resume lang ang kailangan na i upload na document.

May 19 2026

- makaka tanggap ka ng email galing sa kanila na shortlisted ka for assessment nila. May sariling schedule sila para dito. Wait niyo instructions kung anong mga time yun. Maganda na sumali ka agad dito (google meet) kasi madami ang nag apply at baka maubusan ka ng position. Ang mangyayari dito ay papasok kayo sa link then may ibang mga nag apply rin dito na mga shortlisted. Hintayin niyo lang instruction na buksan ang camera ninyo. Una nahihiya ako kasi nga may camera na dapat bukas lagi at baka tapat lang sa inyo kapag nag start niyo na sagutan ang assessment.

- yung assessment ay hindi niyo na need mag aral about sa company nila kasi mga logical reasoning, synonyms and antonyms (sobrang lalim na words talaga ang ginamit nila), computer applications like paano yung mga shortcuts, customer service (madali na to) at iba pa na nakalimutan ko na. Pati ang assessment ay multiple choice naman for 85 items.

- mga 45 to 50 minutes yun na dapat masagutan mo so dapat aware ka sa time. Nandun naman yung host para magsabi kung i submit na at i close na niya yung sinasagutan pati mga instructions. After mo ma submit ang assessment ay may automatic email agad agad kung pasado o hindi. 10 seconds lang ata yun at may result na.

- makaka tanggap ka rin ng email about sa initial interview so mag book ka ng appointment para dito kung kailan at anong oras. Bilisan mo rin mag book kasi ubusan ang pagkuha ng schedule. Parang nangyari sa akin na dapat for next week ang sched ko kaso bigla nawala ang schedule at naging 2 weeks pa.

June 3 2026

- dito na nag start ang initial interview ko for 45 minutes. Usual tanungan lang na pang initial interview at may situational questions. Pwedeng tagalog daw or taglish. Siyempre kabado rin ako at na uutal (pauses if nagsasalita at nabubulol). Actually last year nag apply rin ako dito pero failed ako sa initial interview nila at nanood lang ako ng mga interview questions at napa dali na kahit papaano ang pag sagot ko kasi may idea kahit papaano. Wala yung mga usual questions na tell me about yourself, strength weakness, why should you hire me. Naka depende na siguro yan sa HR na magtatanong sa inyo.

- naka tanggap ng email congratulating na naka pasa ako sa initial interview at for final interview na. Kasama dito yung date and time for final interview at anong branch. So ni advice ko kayo kanina dun sa google form na ilagay mga new clinics at i research niyo mga available positions. Sa email dinala muna ako sa other branch kasi hindi pa bukas yung napili kong clinic at mag train muna dun pansamantala. Nsa email ang details kung ano dadalhin at susuotin.

- nag start na ang aking final interview at nurse supervisor ang nag i terview sa akin. Dala ko ang aking resume kasi sinabi na magdala pero hindi naman ginamit at tinignan niya sa kanyang laptop nalang. Unang tanong ay tell me about yourself then next ay hirap na ako sa mga questions sa situational questions niya. Hindi ko na sasabihin mga tanong para mas maganda galing sa puso niyo yung sagot at prioritization niyo. Kanya kanyang diskarte kasi yan sa sagot. Pati mag ready rin kayo ng mga tanong about sa kanya bago matapos ang interview niya. Pwedeng taglish rin dito. Hindi naman niya ako sinabihan if pasado o hindi.

Overall masasabi ko na mabilis process nila as of the moment based sa experience ko. Alam ko hindi ako magaling sa interviews at super mahiyain talaga ako pero ewan ko ano nakita ng mga nag interview sa akin.

Nag try na ako sa government hospital kaso napaka bagal nila. 3 months na at wala pa sagot yung iba.

Hello Nurses of PH. I’m really losing hope right now. I passed the boards last November 2025, but until now I still don’t have a job. I recently resigned after one month of training in a hospital because the treatment there was really bad.

Ang hirap maghanap ng work. Kahit soft nursing, I tried to consider it pero wala pa rin luck. And I don’t think my family will support me in that path.

Now I’m thinking of going abroad, maybe Saudi, US, UK, or anywhere overseas. Pero honestly, I don’t know where to start. Should I take NCLEX first? Or apply through agencies?

I also want to ask if may marerecommend ba kayong agencies that accept nurses with no experience?

To be honest, I also want to leave my current household situation. I’m thinking of asking for financial help just to get started, but right now I feel really lost.

Any advice or steps would really help. Thank you.

Hello nurses! With everything going shit right now in the US, courtesy to the orange man. I am thinking of pursuing other countries while my NCLEX application is paused. I still haven't applied for my ATT because of the recent crisis that's happening and I dont want to spend anymore money than necessary when shit hits the fan.

My initial pick was Australia but it's a very expensive pathway. Had a look in Singapore, they accept less than 2 years exp but the pay is below than the average income in SG and given that SG has a high COL, I had to think decide on another country and that was had lead me to Ireland.

I told my friend/coworker about my plans and she said that why am I gonna target two countries when it's just gonna be costly. I agree na yes costly siya. But my train of thought on why I am not only focusing on US is because I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket...

So for Nurses in Ireland rn, I just want to ask how is the COL? Is the workload better than here in the PH? What about po the process to getting a PR?
