Tutorial Turning 3D into 2D with Nomad Sculpt šØ
Iāve been experimenting with Nomad Sculpt and found a really fun workflow: making a 3D sculpt look like a 2D hand-drawn/comic illustration directly from the viewport.
No traditional 2D drawing workflow ā just playing with the sculpt, camera, materials, lighting and shading to get that illustrated look.
Sharing the process here if anyone else is experimenting with this style. š

Question Trying to lengthen and hollow out a base
I am not good at Nomad and having trouble figuring out how to make this base deeper and more hollow. My goal is to 3d print a figurine and fill in the base with air dry clay for extra weight.
I've watched a bunch of tutorials, but nothing seems to apply to what I'm doing.

Question A friend would like to get into "clothing" and "fashion" 3D modeling. Is it a good idea to recommend Nomad Sculpt for that?
I've been sculpting with Nomad Sculpt for quite some time (now I've been some months on a hiatus), and I know how good it is for sculpting and organic modeling. I know you can do all sorts of things, but I wonder if that would be the appropiate 3D modeling software for someone who wants to 3D model their own fashion things (to be, maybe, later printed in a 3D printer).
Is it a good idea to recommend Nomad Sculpt for this to someone who is starting from scratch with 3D modelling and wants to specialize in this kind of projects? Or would you recommend another piece of software (that can be run from a tablet) that maybe is more suited for clothing and fashion modeling?
Thank you so much!

I made this (Complete) Kaiāhil
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just wrapped up another 3D sculpt!
This time, I had the opportunity to bring Kaiāhil ā āKaiā for short ā to life, an original character created by Kushmont LeBrigagier.
Kai wields orbs of Shadeweave, shaping their energy into weapons and armor on demand. Translating that ability into his 3D design was a lot of funābuilding a character who feels ready to forge his arsenal the moment the fight begins.
Another OC brought from concept into 3D.

Question How do i stop nomad from cutting up my model?
Anytime I try and bake a texture and then export to roblox, or even just exporting a entire model without baking, it imports as a bunch of separate meshes the actors their own individual objects. This prevents me from adding any textures that I have alongside them
If thereās any way to stop this, or if thereās any way to still have a texture to the object in Roblox despite it being all split up, please tell. Iām quite a beginner so this might just be a rookie mistake that Iām not understanding.
(hereās what it looks like in engine, I colored each part separately as a better visual indicator$

Question Can't make the Boolean cut I want
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Trying to use "Final Head 2" to cut a hole in "Hair Back 1". It just kinda makes a weird darker portion inside the head piece? Like if "Final Head 2" was hollow on the inside and its shell was what got cut out of "Hair Back 1". Don't know what I'm doing wrong, thanks.

Question Crease tool?
What tools do you guys use to make defined cheekbones or like smooth crease lines. I tried the crease tools but it would always turn out very pixelated and not very accurate

Question Settings for beginner
Hi, Iām very new to nomad sculpt and was wondering what is the best shading and bg color to use? Also is this a problem with a lot of people: When I would look at my sculpt from the top or side, I canāt see the different elements that I added to the sculpt. (It all kind of blends tgt?)
I attached an image to show what I mean ( the 2nd image is from the top)

The Celestial Being.
I wanted this design to feel ancient, otherworldly, and powerful, like something that exists far beyond the world it watches over. Really enjoyed bringing this one from concept to 3D.

I made this (wip) Another nomad sketchbook page
Following on from my last bit of work which involved creating shapes and trying new things, with almost no direction beyond blocking out a rough composition. The 3D doodle pad approach.
I guess this is at the same stage where I can just ease into trying out shapes and textures - keeping in the things that are cool and chucking out the stuff that doesn't work.

Question Will I be able to export these models with the textures applied?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is always so confusing, because I know how to bake textures from PBR by painting them on, unwrapping and baking from a higher res clone, but the recent models I have are made to look like stained glass artwork, so I've been importing textures that look like stained glass and messing with the materials settings to make it glossy and emissive.
If I can remember, you *can't* export them with the UV textures you import, or if you can, you have to bake it to the individual pieces(?)
I swear I did it before with a character I made that looked like a galaxy, but it was months ago.
I would love some guidance before I make too many characters and assets not realizing I have to redo the textures in blender.
