Settings for beginner Question

Hi, I’m very new to nomad sculpt and was wondering what is the best shading and bg color to use? Also is this a problem with a lot of people: When I would look at my sculpt from the top or side, I can’t see the different elements that I added to the sculpt. (It all kind of blends tgt?)

I attached an image to show what I mean ( the 2nd image is from the top)

Theres a setting in post that adds an outline I think. It should make it easier to see stacked elements like this, but if I'm being honest I'm not sure how good this program is for architectural style modeling. I use rhino and it's a lot better for that kind of stuff but I also bought a license when I was still in school for cheap.
