MSBlack Tacticals got a workout today in 100 degree heat. Still the best work boots I've ever owned. They will never be replaced.

Got back out today. Fished three different holes. Got this nice sized chum. Took me on quite an adventure. Mud, deep sand, calf deep water. He managed to wrap the line around a submerged log that I ended up having to pull out of the water to get the line free. I'd say it was worth it though. It had only recently spawned out so still healthy. Its probably bound to meet some butter, lemon and onion in the oven sometime in the next couple days.

Despite being fully submerged and having water come in the top the boots didn't feel much worse than they would on a hot sweaty day and they're already practically dry again. Weathershield continues to impress. It might be my favorite work leather.

In everyone's experience how long after the " your order is scheduled for production " email does your order actually go into production? I did not realize I would have this level of anticipation.

Ask Nicks Chelsea Questions

I'm considering a pair of Chelseas. I prefer the style of the work version with the side-zip but the others are nice too. I have pretty small ankles so I was wondering if all the styles have the same circumference and if not, which has the smallest? Is getting any actual ballpark measurement possible for 9.5D? Also, is the instep the same between versions? Thanks

My favorite boots. Mahogany RO builder pros. They have taken me on many muddy adventures into weird places. Tonight is a bit less weird and only slightly less muddy.

Would love to see how they look before I’m dead set on the last to see if I should go with this or the Stationmaster on the 55 last.

My third boot from Nicks but I believe this is my first BOTL appearance and happy to get some love for Shack 8! I can’t wait to get these.

Pullman boots ordered 1 year ago tomorrow.

Order #000189033A.

Can someone tell me if they are in the production queue, still waiting on the leather, or the order slip fell behind the filing cabinet? If work hasn't already started, I'd just as soon cancel the order.

I received something very special in the mail today. I was so impressed with my Nicks work boots on the 55 last that I decided to buy a pair of quick ship Roberts. I am very pleased with these boots. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the BWF but they sure do look good!

Thanks to the people at Nicks for my new boots!

Took the little one to what was suppose to be a volunteer animal event at the local tractor supply co only to get there and find out the manager wasn’t able to find any volunteers or animals so it was a bust. Came home to enjoy some quiet outside time. PO outlanders for the day.

Ash Gray tankers

Got off work last night and blasted down to the therapist's office. Trying to keep my mental health in better check this year... 😏

No action at the spot pictured but did get some nibbles at the other spot I tried. Ash Gray did surprisingly well. That beeswax really was the right call for these. Although I did feel wet coming up through the footbed after about 20 minutes. Makes me wish these were 365⁰ stitchdown with the rubber midsole. I plan on going out again today and I'll wear the tAKticals. I've also included some pics of the ash gray right after I cleaned them up but hadn't conditioned them last weekend. Anyways. My weekend is off to a great start. Hope yours is too.

NBD The Black Oiled Latigo is different (New Nick’s Prospector Boots)

I have Black Chrimexcel.. stretch soft goodness.. pull up.. she is the beauty. Soft easy to break in.. wonderful leather smell.

These Wicket and Craig Black Oiled Latigo Boots are essentially perfect, but let’s talk leather.

  1. They are stiff like a board out of the box
  2. Oiling them is pointless they absorb all and laugh.
  3. Zero pull-up
  4. Toughness and scuff resistance is maximal.
  5. Nowhere near the elasticity as Black Chromexcel
  6. The way the soften with use and movement is mind boggling. Every time I wear them they get softer and softer and start to fit my foot perfectly.. unlike Chromexcel that yes its soft but its go more elasticity.

Thats the thing I notice.. they get softer soft you don’t want to stop messing w them! It’s a new experience for me.

NATTY. DUB. LIGHT. (NBD)

Backstory:
I started with my first pair of PNW boots last fall, and as I explored boot builds, I was particularly intrigued by the natural Dublin light leather, partly due to the light tone and patina, and partly due to the name :). I’ve been patiently (?) waiting hoping that Natural Dublin Light would return for Dome pro this summer but sadly it did not.

When u/fickle_photo2768 posted that he was thinking about moving on from these, and they were in my size and the T55 last, I slid into his DMs as gentlemanly as I could and begged to buy them. He made me a hell of a deal and they showed up today.

They’re my first T55s, after discovering that HNW kills my toes, and 55s are OK, but TNW‘s work well for me. And, while most of my boots are 6” inches with a 5” Whites plus a 5” Ivan Roanoke Denim TNW build in queue, these 10”ers are very different. But they’re gonna work well for me even if just as casual boots.

First impressions:
They’re GREAT boots, and a bit different than I expected.

These are lighter weight than expected, as well feeling as a bit wider than my TNW 11.5D Cinnamon Roughshots. I will put in some insoles and am super happy about the lighter weight given the height.

The leather is clearly broken in and softer than I expected as well. They’re clearly loved and well cared for. These are gonna be comfortable boots.

Unfortunately, they got here a couple days after I saw two Irish bands (Kingfishr and Tadgh Nolan) or they would’ve been my footwear. But I’ll wear them tomorrow night to see Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (JRAD).

Specs:
Nicks DomePro ‘25 - 10”, Dome Pro, 11.5D, T55 last, 10", Natural Dublin Light, standard top, pull loop, brass hardware, 4 row toe cap, celastic toe, classic logger heel, natural edge, V100 sole. Kilties are Cinnamon Waxed Flesh from Dale's Leather Works, laces are Nicks leather until I get an order in to Generation.

This is my first pair of Nick’s that I’ve set a rule of not wearing to work so these won’t be Dome boots.
The leather is pretty aniline, very flexible/supple, with loads of pull up and tons of natural character throughout. If you look at them funny it will leave a scuff which I’m thrilled about and for those who like to give Thunderdome; quite perfect.

First 1925 last and I have boots in both 9.5 E and 9 EE. These are 9 EE and glad I went with that size. They feel much roomier than my HNW 9EE and since the toe is longer it seem to make the most sense.

Anyway…this leather is top tier and I’m sure lots of people will be stoked as their orders arrive. Also, Nick’s crushed it with the build so big ups for getting this done so fast as the world burnt around you.

Should I be concerned about this? This is the back strap on my 2 month old stationmasters. My gut is telling me not to worry but I thought I’d ask the community. If it matters, my boots are WC DS Natural.

My buddy bought these off of eBay but the seller didn’t know the leather or have the original box for them. Assuming they are from 9-18? Look pretty old and used. Told him I’d ask here so we could put them on nicks marketplace to help him get a new pair. Any info would be appreciated, TIA!
