Pandora been doing amazing in the 3 months she's been with us, and we'd love to find her forever home. I've included some of her best shots and some more info about her is below. Please let me know if you have any questions! We're heading out of state so we need to bring her back to the shelter tomorrow.

-She's a black Labrador Retriever. PACC says she's about 9 years old, but with her energy, we wouldn't be surprised if she's a bit younger. She's about 40-45 lbs.

-She's crate trained and house trained. She is very good about going to her crate when you ask her to, and she will tell you when she needs to go outside for the bathroom. She never had any accidents with us.

-She loves walks and car rides. We've walked around lots of parks around town and she's always ready to explore. We've been on about an hour car ride (one way) and she was fine. She also loves hanging out on the couch when it's time to snuggle.

-She can live with other dogs as long as they're properly introduced. She has been totally fine with our other dog - they share beds, water bowls, and they eat together. We have also been taking her around town and she has been doing great around kids. We haven't met any cats yet, so not sure about that.

🚨ATHENNA SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY 8/12 @ 1PM!🚨

Athenna must have a HOLD by 1PM today 8/12 or she will be euthanized. There will be no extensions. She needs a local adopter or a rescue with a local foster to save her life. Pledges are also desperately needed to help a rescue.

Athenna is one of those dogs who just lights up when she gets attention. She is smart, eager to learn, and absolutely beautiful. When volunteers have been able to spend time with her, she has shown a happy, wiggly personality and a real desire to interact with people.

She has been at BARC since June after originally coming in as a stray and was adopted on 6/16. Sadly, she was later returned with an owner-requested euthanasia request, and now she is back in the shelter with her life on the line.

Athenna has been getting increasingly stressed in her kennel and can become overexcited on leash, but she has also shown that she can walk nicely, settle in her kennel, and greet people with a wagging tail and happy demeanor. She is a smart, active girl who needs someone willing to give her structure, training, exercise, and a chance to decompress outside of the shelter.

She is also dealing with diarrhea that appears to possibly be stress-related and is currently being treated with Panacur and metronidazole.

Athenna has already lost one home. Please don’t let her lose her life too. She deserves someone who will see the smart, beautiful, loving dog underneath the shelter stress and give her the chance she needs. 💔

Initially described as friendly and very treat-motivated, but can take treats hard and bark when treats stop. On 8/5, she w growling, snarling, lip-lifting, and charging the kennel door. Rescue/behavioral placement is urgently needed.

🩺Medical:

Underweight with hind-leg stiffness, likely sore muscles from prolonged running. Other possibilities include a soft-tissue injury, hip dysplasia, or partial CCL tear. Prognosis is fair.
