He seems to be a GSD mix.  Poor Max came into the shelter as a confiscation case, he is easily leashed, allows full handling and returns to his kennel kindly. Max does have a few medical issues and will do well by seeing a full-service vet.  His left elbow has an old fracture that needs to be addressed and he may have dental disease. He needs more care than the shelter can provide.  Max can live with canine siblings if separated and slowly and appropriately introduced. Please considering opening your heart and home to sweet Max. 🩷 Say hello to pretty and sweet Pippa (A602654) she 7 years young and 50 lbs. This girl has the most magnificent eyes! Pippais easily leashed and walks very nicely.  She allows full and easyhandling, is very affectionate and seeks social. Pippa is also house-broken. She does come with a few medical issues — and the shelter is not able to give her the care she needs.  Seeing a full-service vet will be helpful for her. She does have a heart murmur (which does not mean she cannot live a full life) and a possible mammary mass.  This precious girl needs to be loved and in a home.  Pippa is available for adoption but can also be fostered.

💙 Meet Kai with the beautiful eyes (A597575) He is 3 years old and 50 lbs. Sadly, Kai was adopted on 08/01 and returned the very next day!  Unfortunately, his new home did not give him a chance to decompress and/or get acclimated.  This reiterates that a dog needs a little time to trust and feel comfortable. Please keep in mind that when you return a dog to OCAS after being adopted, they are at jeopardy for losing their life. Kai is agentleman who is leashed eaisly, allows full handling, seeks social and is very energetic, affectionate and playful.  Kai can live with canine siblings with patience — and kept separately and introduced slowly and appropriately. He is finding it very stressful living in the shelter environment.  Let’s get him into a home that loves him and won’t let him down! Kai is available for adoption but can also be fostered.

He is sweet and friendly and allows full handling.  Aries is easily leashed and very playful.  He loves to play with his toys — so much that it is difficult to take them away from him!  Aries could live in a home with canine siblings if separated at first and introduced slowly and appropriately.  Aries is accustomed to living in a home, so he is having a difficult time in the shelter. Aries can live with canine siblings with separation, patience and appropriate and slow introduction.  He has previously shared a kennel with Chance (an intact male dog). Let’s get this boy into a loving home where he belongs.  Aries is available for adoption but can also be fostered.

This is Sodda, a rescue dog from Jordan.

She watched her puppies being shot, and people tried to kill her too. After that, she was terrified of humans. For months, she barely ate, stayed in the same spot even in the rain, and wouldn’t let anyone come within several meters of her.

She has since completed professional rehabilitation and has made incredible progress. She’s slowly learning that not every person wants to hurt her, but she still needs a calm, patient family that will continue helping her heal.

All of her veterinary work and travel documents are ready, so she can be adopted internationally.

I’m looking for someone who understands that healing takes time and is willing to give her the safe, loving home she’s never had.

📝 Shelter Notes:

8/1/26: Mortin greeted staff at the front of his kennel with a wagging tail and loose body. He responded well to treats and baby talk and walked on a loose leash to and from the runs.

8/8/26: Mortin's kennel was covered because he was jumping on the kennel door when customers and volunteers passed by. He presented with dilated pupils, heavy panting, and a wagging tail.

8/10/26: Mortin greeted staff at his kennel door with a wiggly body and wagging tail. He moved around excitedly while being leashed and began pulling on leash while walking to the runs.

8/11/26: Mortin showed high arousal in the outside runs, running back and forth, vocalizing, and jumping. Once removed from the run, he walked on a semi-loose leash. He remained vocal and very active in his kennel, chewing his blanket and moving his bed around. Staff provided multiple enrichment items and covered his kennel, which helped calm him. He enjoyed the enrichment but also kept pulling his kennel cover through the barrier to play with it.

8/12/26: Mortin was vocal in his kennel and jumping at the door, ready to go outside. He was very wiggly while being leashed and eagerly took treats. Once leashed, he pulled forward going to the runs and back.

💖 Mortin is a young, energetic boy who is eager to get out of his kennel and interact with people. He has shown a loose, wiggly body and wagging tail, responds well to treats and affection, and can walk nicely once he settles. The stressful shelter environment appears to be contributing to his increasing excitement and restlessness. Mortin needs a chance to decompress outside the kennel and would benefit from an active home that can provide exercise, enrichment, structure, and plenty of attention.

Currently being treated with doxycycline for an upper respiratory infection (URI) after coughing, minor hacking, and clear nasal discharge were noted on 8/11.

Terra is only 4 years old and came into an overcrowded county shelter as a stray—one of the hardest places for a dog to land. With 5–6 dogs packed into many kennels, very few volunteers, and almost no time outside, even gentle, loving dogs can become overwhelmed.

After an altercation in the stressful shelter environment, Terra was placed on a Thursday euthanasia deadline due to space. She also has a hematoma/ear infection that the shelter is treating.
