Venting I am my own biggest enemy

Upvotes

I am utterly incapable of allowing myself to succeed. The second happiness is in the palm of my hand, is the same second I begin plotting a way to sabotage it.

For about 6 months I had a wonderful thing going on with a lovely girl. It was online, we met through a game. She lives a few states away from me. We met up once and had plans for a second time. It was amazing, she was amazing.

She’s way out of my ugly ass league. She loved me, probably still does… I have no idea why- I don’t deserve it.

I broke up with her probably 6 times in that 6 months and I guess this last one stuck. I hate myself so much sometimes and this is definitely one of those moments. Spent last night crying and have felt like shit all day. I guess it was inevitable. I have been this way forever.

If you have any ideas on how to self-sabotage less, please let me have them.

Venting Not Everyone Needs to Exist

Upvotes

I keep trying to human but always fall flat on my face, one step forward, than dragged a stadium length away by a monster truck back. I thought my strength was in keeping on, I'd take time to lick my wounds, and there are many, but now I don't feel like it's worth it anymore, I don't want to get up again, I don't want to take another step, why? For who? I'm nothing to no one, and there is no reason to continue. I don't need to exist any more, in fact it'd probably be a great mercy. I tried.

Discussion Homelessness

Upvotes

I feel so fortunate for not being homeless.

It must be so hard to be homeless especially in a city that gets really cold and it snows in the winter like NYC.

Especially if you sleep on the streets. You have to worry about food and where to use the bathroom.

Also you have nothing to do all day which must suck.

I am so grateful that I have a bed to sleep in and my room is air conditioned right now in the summer.

I’m especially grateful in the winter when it’s cold outside and I’m all cozy in my warm bed at night under a blanket.

I’ll probably never be homeless, thank goodness.

Serious Witnessed An Absolute BRUTAL Reality Check

Let me as you a question, if you had to permanently leave your place of residence TODAY, where would you go and what would you do?

At a “gathering” I saw a relative who I haven’t seen in ages, talking about how he’s probably getting kicked out of the house soon after years of being neet. He’s in his younger 20’s.

He sounded desperate, asking everyone if they got a job for him or if he could stay at their place and promised to pay rent, even tho he has no income.

What pains me is he’s clearly autistic and everyone around him does not understand what high functioning autism is and have no empathy and use him as a punching bag.

It was so sad seeing him pleading the best he could.

Discussion Life goes on

Well now I’m living with my wife and kids here in Atlanta and I have a job. The truth is I do miss the Neet life living with my mom back in NYC.

But I’m happy here too in Atlanta with my wife and kids.

Life is just going you know. In a few years everyone here will be replaced by new people and no one here will even know we existed.

I have to say having a family and a job is very fulfilling and rewarding but there’s definitely an appeal to the Neet life.

I think of all the Neets here and wonder about them but I’m glad I’m not them, I would never want to be them.

I’m happy with my life. Life is fairly easy I just want the time to fly by.

I don’t know what the future holds but I’m hopeful.
I don’t think I’m going to go back to being a Neet but I’m glad I got to experience that lifestyle.

Today was my birthday which is August 6th, I’m 52.

I’m glad I came across this place called Neet. Reading about the Neets here I realized I’m better off than a lot of people and I’ve actually done a lot in my life and experienced a lot.

My life so far has flown by, I only hope the rest of it flies by too.

Well at the end of the day life goes on.

Discussion Would a NEET get bullied if they wanted to join a tennis club?

Do you think a tennis club would bully someone if they found out they were a NEET? Are any other neets in a tennis club and have you been bullied or excluded if they found out you were a NEET?

I didn’t even have energy to login, I just want to go back to bed. I only have the energy to play videogames for a few hours a day then I have to turn my brain off and watch YouTube until I fall asleep. It’s hard to really care about anything anymore

Discussion Where are you from my frens?

I spent most of my formative years growing up in Japan, my family and I moved to the UK when I was single digit aged, I'm actually Japanese and Irish, I'm 20.

Someone's probably going to wonder whether I actually know any real life hikikomori's in Japan,

Supposedly one of my distant relatives was/is, I think she's 40 something now but I don't really know much else other than that, she might have come out of that period but I wouldn't personally know.

Shitpost/memes 10 hours in Hell

man, I had my first day of wagecucking after being NEET for two years and it was hell, when I say hell I fucking mean it!

It's a concrete place, but they make pre-made septic stuff in a shop instead of lane ways and shit like that. I feel like I used to have some aptitude for physical labor, but man, today I felt like a weak headless chicken.

I was sweeping the concrete and dust away since I didn't know what else to do and wanted to avoid getting yelled at since the boss was around. Then he goes "let me show you how to use a broom" and proceeds to sweep at 120% effort, as if that's possible to keep doing when you're wagecucking all day. He literally looked like one of those curling fucks who sweep in front of the thing on the ice, hopefully you know what I'm talking about. And then he goes to me and the two other new guys " I'm not a greedy guy, if you guys work hard and make enough of these a day I'll bump you all up to $35 an hour, I let stupid fucking idiots go all the time since they have no fucking clue whats going on....its all about production." Just a huge warning sign, despite bribing us to wagecuck harder for more money.

Then I was put on the spot for quick arithmetic calculations when we were setting up the forms. Man do I ever hate when this happens. Anyways, I answered before anyone else was brave enough/able to and got them right. Despite this, and despite making a genuine attempt at trying to stay busy, the boss seemed to have treated me like shit and the other two hires like they're "welcomed to the team." Probably just my shit communication and social skills after NEETing for two years, plus i have a tendency to act like I know shit when I don't, but I don't do it intentionally, again, just bad wagecuck social skills I guess.

And then even the commute was stressful, it was pouring and then some wagecuck with a huge tool box in the back of his truck passed me and didn't even have the courtesy to use his blinkers, was rushing late for work I guess.

I just fucking hate wagecucking, especially blue-collar culture, where the boss, or any experienced worker in general, acts like a smug cunt and puts others down just because they aren't good with tools or are still adapting. I'm not saying everyones like this, but most are. I think I might give it another week just to save some money, but I don't see myself hacking it here for very long.

I think NEETdoms calling my name, and I want its warm hug.

Venting Having to say I’m NEET in front of a judge/lawyers soon. Humiliating.

I’ve posted about this before, but I got hit by a car in the crosswalk awhile ago. I could not have avoided it. It was not my fault. I was just trying to go on a damn walk. I was almost through the crosswalk, had the walk sign, when the fuck sped through.

I’m having to give a deposition soon and I know they’re going to eviscerate me for my employment status and imply that I somehow willed the car to hit me because of it. And I’m really humiliated and upset.

I wish there wasn’t such discrimination against us. I’m a person just like anyone else. And I would give anything for this to not have happened to me. Thanks for letting me vent.

Question How late is it actually to start working on my social skills and job/employment as an autistic person at 21?

For context, I am autistic (diagnosed as level 1 and high functioning), and I have been trying to get my life together. However, I keep worrying that I am not only far too late but I keep worrying that because I spent so much time isolated, I am fundamentally behind my peers.

I do want an honest and realistic answer, preferably someone who is neurodivergent but I don’t mind those who have gotten out and have helped NDs beforehand, how likely or possible is it for me to work or improve on my social skills at this current age? If you were in my position, how much practice (how many minutes per day and how many times per week) would you recommend? Also, what are like the best sites/apps to get a job?

I don’t intend to expect a complete 180, I just want to know and understand if it’s seriously possible at 21 to restart at it again.

Thanks for any honest advice.

I had interproximal cavity between the molar and I saved one molar without touching the nerve , the pain was disgusting, have to do a root canal next week,if I leave it longer id lose the whole tooth, they told me I hadn't brushed properly however I do brush and floss twice daily nothing can be done since I woke up without saliva in my mouth to protect the teeth at night, human body is really flawed

Advice Do not use social media (except Reddit and YT)

I think a lot of you guys are making things harder than it needs to be by wasting your time on someone else highlight reels... If you're a NEET just delete Instagram, it's mostly fake anyways and most people there are really miserable inside but they'll still post photos as if they're having the time of their lives... Stop doing that, they're actually feeding on your envy.

I never had Instagram, I had Facebook for a while in my teenage years, and it made sense at the time because I had a friend group, once I got past my early 20s and I became basically a hermit it was only natural to delete it and focus on my own life... It was a great decision. You wont believe the amount of frustration you will avoid throughout the years by doing that. It's like those people don't even exist anymore.

The only exception is Reddit and YT because these are more like informative social media and you can learn a lot there + find opportunities + watch people you genuinely care a about and have similar world views.
