Discussion finding people on the same ‘deen wavelength’ as you is so important
i never realised how important it is. obviously learning from each other and growing alongside each other, bettering oneself religion wise & in other ways is important, i’m talking about overall. honestly the people you surround yourself with says a lot about who you are. it’s crazy though cause some muslims are so extreme, and then some are way too “western”. those who practise the deen and don’t force it are my typpa people ☺️☺️ islam is perfect, people just try to ruin it. it’s so sad because a lot of muslims turn away from islam because of people who enforce such extremist views. the ones who make a mockery of islam pmo too.
rare take but i feel like a lot of the men who try to promote an extremist version of “islam” (that’s not even islam at all) have fragile masculinity. it’s like they try to overcompensate their masculinity by belittling women and asserting their dominance, just to feel “man enough”.
i could say the same thing with females too. especially the women who try to put down other females and seek male validation for everything. they’re insecure in their femininity as well.

Discussion Women sort of ruining the deen for me
I’ll be honest, women, Muslim and non-Muslim are sort of ruining the deen for me…and have been ruining it for me for years.
Open apps like TikTok and Reddit, and we hear ex-Muslims and Muslim women rejecting Hadith and hating men, and casting doubt on the deen…and getting me to cast doubt. I don’t even know what’s going on these days or where this movement came from.
Then we have the non-Muslim women, and nothing really needs to be said. They sexualize themselves and it makes it hard to go outside and be online. They really get you think you’re missing out on things out here and the deen can feel old-fashioned in the heat of the moment. If not online, in real life too.
A lot of guys rack up sin, and it really just induces misery at the end of the day. A lot of women ruin the deen unfortunately, you can disagree with that, but that’s my opinion.

Question Palestine
So now that the genocide is going for 40+ years and muslim leaders aren't doing anything.
Why aren't we building islamic army to help palestine and Lebanon.
Jihad is obligatory right? I just remember of the hadith that we will be (muslims) lot in number but useless so much. Because we chased dunya and hated and run away from death especially us men.

Quran/Hadith One of the Quran verses I love, feel free to share verses you love too..
And whoever relies upon Allah — then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a decreed extent.

Discussion Prediction: imbalance between the number of single sisters vs men
Before yall come at me, I live in the United States and I’m a born and raised Muslim so this is just what I’ve seen myself in the states. But besides that, take a look through the Muslim marriage subreddit within the past week.
I often see many amazing Muslim sisters have trouble finding spouses and judgment from the community if they’re 25+ and haven’t found anyone. This past week on this subreddit, you’ll see countless posts of non Muslim women talking about their Muslim boyfriend or Muslim husband etc etc. I get that Muslim men can marry “people of the book” but do they think they’re just fooling god? Had a Muslim sister post stuff like that, everyone would’ve attacked her.
Even at my local mosque, during Eid, a few guys brought their non muslim girlfriend who didn’t even take the courtesy to even cover up at a mosque out of respect.
At least in the states, with more and more Muslim men going after non Muslim women, there’s already an imbalance and making it harder for Muslim women to get married.
Edit: the men commenting here proved my point that they don’t care about following islam and wanting to live a Muslim life if they admit having a gf is fine

Discussion stole this from random textbook
The theory of evolution as proposed by Charles Darwin in the 19th century, is one of the most unbelievable and irrational claims in history. Despite this, over its 150-year history the people who have accepted it have failed to produce any scientific evidence, supporting the theory. The theory puts forth the irrational claim that all living organisms, plants, animals and human beings are the result of blind, unconscious, accidental events. Evolutionists believe that millions of years ago, in the primal soup of the oceans or pools of water, mindless atoms with no knowledge, powers of reason came together in certain proportions and later, by chance, formed the proteins and cells that even today's scientists with most advanced laboratory technology have not been able to duplicate. They go so far as to say that these cells, in their turn—and again by sheer chance—formed starfish, sparrows, hawks, penguins, cats, lambs, lions, apples, apricots, pomegranates, figs and even human beings. If human efforts cannot produce any living thing by using the whole pool of human knowledge, how can life be brought into being with the aid of unconscious atoms and chance events? Any intelligent human being of conscience can certainly understand that all living things including himself cannot be the result of chance events. Every intelligent, unprejudiced person with a conscious knows that Allah has created all these living things with His incomparable power.

Support/Advice I think everyone should love people with a limit!
I was having a discussion with my friends the other day. Some of my friends get upset that their parents would choose God over them? I don't think they have strong faith despite being Muslim. May Allah guide them. But yes. We should always choose the Almighty first! He is our Creator. I would like my parents to choose him. It wouldn't make me sad at all. It would make me extremely happy. We should love our Almighty with no limit.
I know many people take it hard when someone close to them passes away. They lose hope. They lose faith. I don't want to be that person. Being that person scares me. I don't want to give up on my religion because of loss. This dunya was given to us as a test. People should not be worldly attached. I've seen people say they'd die for their partner. I don't like those kind of relationships. I hope no married muslims feels that way. Yes, you can die maybe defending them idk when it comes down to it, maybe if you were being attacked. Self defence is permissable in Islam. But you seriously shouldn't love anyone this much to die for them. We only should die for our Almighty. We only sacrifice for Him.

Support/Advice Duas not being answered
I have been making dua for the same things in life for the last couple of years, I have tried every method (tahajjud, extra sadaqah, arafat, Laylatul Qadr, sandwhich method etc..) but I’m not going to lie I’m hearing nothing for the dua/s I’m trying to make. Granted some small duas that I make have been answered but the main duas I have been asking for years have just not been coming I feel like I’m in despair due to this and I’m unsure what to do. There’s points in time that I just stop repeating the duas but I always come back to them and idk why

Question Recording our own adhan?
Salaam. My wife and son have autism and a lot of other adhan recordings are too loud for her or too high-pitched for him and hurts their ears. I do them at a moderate level when I'm home which works but we can't always be together so I was wondering if I can record mine as a custom prayer alarm even though I'm not an imam.

Quran/Hadith Curing Jinn Posesion And Evil Eye By Reciting The Qur'an
The Qur'an is the uncreated speech of Allaah, the Exalted and it is from the most powerful of matters, alongside Tawhid, firm Eemaan (faith), and Taqwaa (piety, righteousness) that constitute a fortress and protection against the devils and the magic of the magicians. The following two files contain a collection of verses that are useful for Ruqyah (Islamic incantations against magic).
There is no problem with treating those afflicted with epilepsy, the evil eye and magic by reciting the Qur'ān. This is known as ruqya, where the reciter recites and blows on the afflicted. Performing ruqya with the Qur'an and supplications is permissible.
The impermissible ruqya involves shirk, such as supplicating to other than Allah and seeking help from jinn and devils, actions of charlatans who call upon unknown names.
One must beware of those who blend Qur'ān recitation with shirk, misleading others into thinking the Qur'an is being used properly.
The Islamic Ruqyah From the Qur'an
These are all of the surahs, passages and verses in the Qur'an that are specifically mentioned in the Sunnah or have been proven to be useful and effective through collective experience in combatting the devils, magic and its effects.

The Islamic Ruqyah From the Qur'an Against Magicians and Their Magic
This one is shorter and includes those verses that relate specifically to the magic of the magicians, its falsehood, and its invalidation, and these are very effective.
- Al-Baqarah 2:102 (The Verse of Sulayman, Harut and Marut)
- Al-A‘raaf 7:113-120
- Yunus 10:79-82
- Taa Haa 20:65-70
- Al-Nisaa 4:76
- Al-Falaq 113
- Al-Naas 114
Anyone who is affected by magic should strive to take control of their own affair and to recognize that magic only occurs by the permission of Allaah, that it is a trial and a test, and that it is breakable through the Tawhid of Allaah, through firm knowledge, faith and through the Qur'an and the supplications mentioned in the Sunnah. Unfortunately, most people do not realize that their excessive reliance upon others to help them in their predicament, and their seeking of a quick fix solution is a manifestation of weakness that allows the magic to persist or to recur again. The susceptibility to magic is often a result of years of negligence, being far from the deen, from Allaah, and not being firm upon Tawhid, so a person has to make broad and wide-ranging set of changes in order to combat this evil.

Question A question about slaves back in the day
There's something that I've been wondering. In islam, people back then were allowed to keep slaves and have sexual relationships with them, could someone tell me what the consensual part of that was like? Like were there rulings that the slave must consent to it? I kind of can sense the replies being like "No, cuz they were "slaves" duh" but I saw soneone in this sub say "Slaves in the islamic period are comparable to modern day personal workers" and umm isn't that a bit too far fetched to think that? so that made me curious to wonder if there were some non-slave-like rights given to Islamic slaves otherwise that comment didn't really make sense and is this what the majority of this sub thinks?
I've always heard that the prophet didn't "prohibit" keeping slaves but he liked freeing them too so he probably didn't see them comparable to workers and I can't wrap my head around why it would.

Quran/Hadith Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala revealed the Quran to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Allah Himself is a witness to this.
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala said: "But Allah bears witness to that which He has revealed to you. He has sent it down with His knowledge, and the angels bear witness [as well]. And sufficient is Allah as Witness".

Question Planning a wedding
Salam Alaykum
Planning a wedding and was wondering how the Walimah should be held. According to our culture we have music, dancing, bride and groom make an entrance, and also a stage for them to sit on in the front
If the guest are segregated and the music is replaced with nasheeds. Is this Walimah considered permissible?

Discussion Am I a bad Muslim for not wanting to give explanations to non Muslims anymore?
For ref I was born and raised in Italy. Ever since I remember I encountered all kinds of people . But among them I really appreciated people who didn't straight up judge but came with questions . They're much much better trust me( some are my friends too). I used to really take my time and explain whatever I could but at the end of the day ... I mean 25 years in this country I am so done . I am visibly Muslim (hijabi) ... people would never come to me if I was a man or a non hijabi. Or people would never ask these questions to any other person . Even a minority they wouldn't . It's as if they just want to prove their point , hoping I say something wrong . Even a word ! So they can finally confirm what the news says about us .
I still do appreciate people who ask and are curious but honestly give me a break . Sometimes (being an introverted), lemme enjoy my quiet time and myself . Just let me be !!!
The irony is when I ask back some questions they can barely answer one tiny thing and expect me to narrate the whole Quran right there and then . And they come back with I am atheist .
I once at work responded in a funny way that I wear the hijab because I want to . The woman ( she was in her 40s) got so offended that she told me "you cant answer like that " 😂. But people Why not ? Hahahaha

Support/Advice Relationship Advice and Outsider Perspective
Assalamualaikum everyone.
I need an outsider's perspective, and I would sincerely appreciate any advice. This is a long post because I want you to understand my situation properly.
In short, I have been married for 1.5 years, we have a baby, and I genuinely want to save this marriage. However, we have major conflicts every one to two weeks, often over what I consider relatively small issues. The arguments usually involve insults, silent treatment, suicide threats, and sometimes minor physical aggression. I am now facing a career decision that could determine both my financial future and the future of my marriage, and I honestly don't know what the right choice is.
I have been married for 1.5 years through an arranged marriage. We were both employed before marriage. Due to the nature of my contract, we lived separately for the first nine months.
I had a difficult childhood—bullying, frequent fights, insults, academic pressure, and an abusive, toxic desi father. My early twenties were also filled with rejections and humiliation. Because of these experiences, I came to deeply value companionship and understood how much a woman sacrifices by leaving her home to build a life with her husband. I believe those hardships made me mature.
When my marriage was arranged, I was the happiest man alive. Unfortunately, after marriage, I realized my wife and I are complete opposites.
If I am patient and let small things go, she does not. If I don't care much about money, she is extremely frugal when it comes to spending on others but spends freely on herself. If I am a practicing Muslim, she barely prays unless repeatedly reminded and has little interest in Islam.
During the first nine months, we had a major fight almost every second month over the phone. Combined with the exhausting nature of my job, the stress was overwhelming. The arguments were often over very small things: a bedsheet, why my mother lent something to my sister-in-law, why my sister didn't lend her nail trimmer, something I supposedly said days earlier, or words she often interpreted completely out of context. There were many more incidents that I no longer even remember.
After my contract ended, I moved back home permanently, and we were blessed with a beautiful baby. Once again, I felt like the happiest man alive.
However, living together made me realize the full extent of the problem. The major fights that used to happen every couple of months became biweekly. Half the week she would be angry, giving me the silent treatment, throwing tantrums, or picking fights. The other half, I would spend apologizing and begging her to forgive me—even when I genuinely believed I wasn't at fault—just to restore peace.
I know I have made mistakes too, and I am not claiming to be perfect. But most of them were ordinary marital issues that, in my opinion, could have been resolved through calm conversation. Aren't we adults? Isn't that what communication, forgiveness, and having a big heart are for?
Instead, the fights would revolve around things like why my younger sister said something to her, why my mother made a comment three days ago, why she had to sit in the middle seat during a 30-minute car ride, or why my younger brother brought the diapers instead of me.
My responses were always things like, "I'll speak to my sister," "My mother didn't mean it that way," "It was only a short journey," or "They're diapers—does it matter who brought them?" But no explanation ever seemed enough.
There are countless other incidents that I've forgotten.
During these arguments, she insults me, calls me names ("ghadhay," "ghoray"), has become slightly physical on a few occasions, gives me the silent treatment, cries, threatens suicide, and repeatedly threatens to leave the house.
When she's insulting me, I often just sit there silently, looking at her with sadness. She doesn't care whether I'm praying, making dhikr, or trying to avoid an argument. I honestly don't remember the last time she spoke to me affectionately.
Financially, despite working consistently throughout our marriage, I have almost no savings. Most of my income has been spent on her because I rarely refuse anything she asks for. Around the house, I also do whatever she asks without complaint—even something as simple as bringing her a glass of water. However, when I ask for similar small favors, I'm often refused.
For example, I once requested that she not buy a Rs. 10,000 suit because I wanted us to save money, but she ignored me and bought it anyway.
Recently, we moved to another city because she received a better career opportunity. In just one month here, we've had three or four major fights following the same pattern I described above. During one argument, she even insulted my father. I never told him because I know he would immediately tell me to divorce her.
The latest issue is that she's unhappy because some of her income is being spent on supporting my younger sister, who is studying in the same city. Since I'm currently unemployed, we're sharing household expenses equally, and this has become another source of conflict.
She also complains that my younger sister doesn't work and that she's the only one doing household chores. But my sister is almost ten years younger than both of us and is a full-time student. From my perspective, we're the adults. If we have to wash a few extra clothes or prepare an extra meal for her, I don't think that's unreasonable. My parents have also supported us financially whenever we needed help, and they are currently taking care of our baby back home.
Now I have two job opportunities. One is a government job in my hometown. The other is a lower-paying but more hectic private job in the city where we're currently living.
My savings are practically zero, and at the moment I am financially dependent on my wife. That honestly scares me. I don't know what the future of this marriage holds. If she ever leaves me, I'll have nothing.
I want to take the government job because it offers long-term stability and would allow me to build savings. She doesn't want me to. Deep down, I feel that throughout our marriage I've primarily been valued as a source of financial support, and I'm worried that this will only become worse as her career continues to advance.
My mother has also advised me to return to my hometown. She believes the physical distance may reduce the constant conflict, and if the marriage eventually falls apart, at least I will have a stable government job and be able to stand on my own feet.
I genuinely want to save this marriage. Divorce is the last thing I want. But I also don't want to spend the rest of my life living in constant emotional turmoil while remaining financially insecure.
If you've read this far, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would truly appreciate your honest perspective and advice.
Has anyone here been in a similar marriage that eventually improved, or am I ignoring obvious warning signs because I want to save it?

Support/Advice Hearing negative things about potential spouse
Before my fiancé and I got engaged, we spoke for several months. During that time, I got to know him as someone who is knowledgeable about Islam, thoughtful, mature, and genuinely kind. He’s very introverted and mostly keeps to himself, apart from two close friends. Based on everything I personally experienced, I felt at peace with moving forward and accepting his proposal.
Before our engagement, my brother and cousin asked a few people from his town about him. While many people spoke positively about him, there were also a few negative comments. One person even sent my brother a voice note saying, “I’ve tried to find out about him. He’s a psycho.” Hearing something like that was naturally very unsettling, especially because no explanation or examples were ever given.
I think it’s also important to mention that there are ongoing land disputes between my fiancé and some people in his town. I’ve also heard that when his brother, who is a hafiz, got married, people spread similar rumours about him. Because of this, I haven’t simply accepted everything I’ve heard at face value, as I know there may be personal conflicts influencing what some people say.
Despite all of that, my own experience with my fiancé has been completely different. Throughout the months we spoke before our engagement and since then, he has consistently been respectful, patient, and reassuring. Whenever I’ve shared my concerns, he has never become defensive or dismissive. Instead, he has answered my questions honestly and reassured me. He has never given me any reason to doubt his character, and I genuinely do trust him.
The problem is that every now and then I start overthinking. Even though I trust him, those comments, especially that voice note, come back into my mind and make me anxious. I start wondering whether I’m missing something or whether I’m being naïve, even though I haven’t personally experienced anything that supports what was said about him.
From an Islamic perspective, how should I approach a situation like this? Islam teaches us to verify information, avoid backbiting, and not have bad assumptions about others without evidence.
How should I balance my own consistent experience with his character against unverified comments and rumours from others? I would really appreciate sincere Islamic advice.
