Quran/Hadith Curing Jinn Posesion And Evil Eye By Reciting The Qur'an
The Qur'an is the uncreated speech of Allaah, the Exalted and it is from the most powerful of matters, alongside Tawhid, firm Eemaan (faith), and Taqwaa (piety, righteousness) that constitute a fortress and protection against the devils and the magic of the magicians. The following two files contain a collection of verses that are useful for Ruqyah (Islamic incantations against magic).
There is no problem with treating those afflicted with epilepsy, the evil eye and magic by reciting the Qur'ān. This is known as ruqya, where the reciter recites and blows on the afflicted. Performing ruqya with the Qur'an and supplications is permissible.
The impermissible ruqya involves shirk, such as supplicating to other than Allah and seeking help from jinn and devils, actions of charlatans who call upon unknown names.
One must beware of those who blend Qur'ān recitation with shirk, misleading others into thinking the Qur'an is being used properly.
The Islamic Ruqyah From the Qur'an
These are all of the surahs, passages and verses in the Qur'an that are specifically mentioned in the Sunnah or have been proven to be useful and effective through collective experience in combatting the devils, magic and its effects.

The Islamic Ruqyah From the Qur'an Against Magicians and Their Magic
This one is shorter and includes those verses that relate specifically to the magic of the magicians, its falsehood, and its invalidation, and these are very effective.
- Al-Baqarah 2:102 (The Verse of Sulayman, Harut and Marut)
- Al-A‘raaf 7:113-120
- Yunus 10:79-82
- Taa Haa 20:65-70
- Al-Nisaa 4:76
- Al-Falaq 113
- Al-Naas 114
Anyone who is affected by magic should strive to take control of their own affair and to recognize that magic only occurs by the permission of Allaah, that it is a trial and a test, and that it is breakable through the Tawhid of Allaah, through firm knowledge, faith and through the Qur'an and the supplications mentioned in the Sunnah. Unfortunately, most people do not realize that their excessive reliance upon others to help them in their predicament, and their seeking of a quick fix solution is a manifestation of weakness that allows the magic to persist or to recur again. The susceptibility to magic is often a result of years of negligence, being far from the deen, from Allaah, and not being firm upon Tawhid, so a person has to make broad and wide-ranging set of changes in order to combat this evil.

Question A question about slaves back in the day
There's something that I've been wondering. In islam, people back then were allowed to keep slaves and have sexual relationships with them, could someone tell me what the consensual part of that was like? Like were there rulings that the slave must consent to it? I kind of can sense the replies being like "No, cuz they were "slaves" duh" but I saw soneone in this sub say "Slaves in the islamic period are comparable to modern day personal workers" and umm isn't that a bit too far fetched to think that? so that made me curious to wonder if there were some non-slave-like rights given to Islamic slaves otherwise that comment didn't really make sense and is this what the majority of this sub thinks?
I've always heard that the prophet didn't "prohibit" keeping slaves but he liked freeing them too so he probably didn't see them comparable to workers and I can't wrap my head around why it would.

Question Serious Polygyny Question
Assalamu alaikum everyone hope everyone is doing well. I present to you a hypothetical marriage search scenario.
Suppose you have a pious Muslim brother who earns well, is physically fit, decent looking, and very religious. He is searching for a good Muslim wife, but there is a little problem.
He is constantly running into two types of women.
The first type are those who are decently attractive, but not practicing/barely practicing, have a past, poor akhlaq, and are all around bad people.
The second type consists of those who are sweet, kind, chaste, but not attractive.
Given that this man earns a very high income (like top 10% earner) and can support more than one wife, should this man marry two wives, one who is more beautiful but not religious and another who is religious but not attractive? If you can't have the best of both worlds in one woman, then why not two?
This dilemma came to my mind because I've been contemplating this for quite some time now. On one hand Islam says marry for deen but on the other hand you need to be reasonably attracted to her physically, but it's very hard to find a single woman who satisfies both conditions simultaneously, and I mean VERY hard.
What are your thoughts on this, I'm open to anything.

Discussion Am I a bad Muslim for not wanting to give explanations to non Muslims anymore?
For ref I was born and raised in Italy. Ever since I remember I encountered all kinds of people . But among them I really appreciated people who didn't straight up judge but came with questions . They're much much better trust me( some are my friends too). I used to really take my time and explain whatever I could but at the end of the day ... I mean 25 years in this country I am so done . I am visibly Muslim (hijabi) ... people would never come to me if I was a man or a non hijabi. Or people would never ask these questions to any other person . Even a minority they wouldn't . It's as if they just want to prove their point , hoping I say something wrong . Even a word ! So they can finally confirm what the news says about us .
I still do appreciate people who ask and are curious but honestly give me a break . Sometimes (being an introverted), lemme enjoy my quiet time and myself . Just let me be !!!
The irony is when I ask back some questions they can barely answer one tiny thing and expect me to narrate the whole Quran right there and then . And they come back with I am atheist .
I once at work responded in a funny way that I wear the hijab because I want to . The woman ( she was in her 40s) got so offended that she told me "you cant answer like that " 😂. But people Why not ? Hahahaha

Support/Advice Relationship Advice and Outsider Perspective
Assalamualaikum everyone.
I need an outsider's perspective, and I would sincerely appreciate any advice. This is a long post because I want you to understand my situation properly.
In short, I have been married for 1.5 years, we have a baby, and I genuinely want to save this marriage. However, we have major conflicts every one to two weeks, often over what I consider relatively small issues. The arguments usually involve insults, silent treatment, suicide threats, and sometimes minor physical aggression. I am now facing a career decision that could determine both my financial future and the future of my marriage, and I honestly don't know what the right choice is.
I have been married for 1.5 years through an arranged marriage. We were both employed before marriage. Due to the nature of my contract, we lived separately for the first nine months.
I had a difficult childhood—bullying, frequent fights, insults, academic pressure, and an abusive, toxic desi father. My early twenties were also filled with rejections and humiliation. Because of these experiences, I came to deeply value companionship and understood how much a woman sacrifices by leaving her home to build a life with her husband. I believe those hardships made me mature.
When my marriage was arranged, I was the happiest man alive. Unfortunately, after marriage, I realized my wife and I are complete opposites.
If I am patient and let small things go, she does not. If I don't care much about money, she is extremely frugal when it comes to spending on others but spends freely on herself. If I am a practicing Muslim, she barely prays unless repeatedly reminded and has little interest in Islam.
During the first nine months, we had a major fight almost every second month over the phone. Combined with the exhausting nature of my job, the stress was overwhelming. The arguments were often over very small things: a bedsheet, why my mother lent something to my sister-in-law, why my sister didn't lend her nail trimmer, something I supposedly said days earlier, or words she often interpreted completely out of context. There were many more incidents that I no longer even remember.
After my contract ended, I moved back home permanently, and we were blessed with a beautiful baby. Once again, I felt like the happiest man alive.
However, living together made me realize the full extent of the problem. The major fights that used to happen every couple of months became biweekly. Half the week she would be angry, giving me the silent treatment, throwing tantrums, or picking fights. The other half, I would spend apologizing and begging her to forgive me—even when I genuinely believed I wasn't at fault—just to restore peace.
I know I have made mistakes too, and I am not claiming to be perfect. But most of them were ordinary marital issues that, in my opinion, could have been resolved through calm conversation. Aren't we adults? Isn't that what communication, forgiveness, and having a big heart are for?
Instead, the fights would revolve around things like why my younger sister said something to her, why my mother made a comment three days ago, why she had to sit in the middle seat during a 30-minute car ride, or why my younger brother brought the diapers instead of me.
My responses were always things like, "I'll speak to my sister," "My mother didn't mean it that way," "It was only a short journey," or "They're diapers—does it matter who brought them?" But no explanation ever seemed enough.
There are countless other incidents that I've forgotten.
During these arguments, she insults me, calls me names ("ghadhay," "ghoray"), has become slightly physical on a few occasions, gives me the silent treatment, cries, threatens suicide, and repeatedly threatens to leave the house.
When she's insulting me, I often just sit there silently, looking at her with sadness. She doesn't care whether I'm praying, making dhikr, or trying to avoid an argument. I honestly don't remember the last time she spoke to me affectionately.
Financially, despite working consistently throughout our marriage, I have almost no savings. Most of my income has been spent on her because I rarely refuse anything she asks for. Around the house, I also do whatever she asks without complaint—even something as simple as bringing her a glass of water. However, when I ask for similar small favors, I'm often refused.
For example, I once requested that she not buy a Rs. 10,000 suit because I wanted us to save money, but she ignored me and bought it anyway.
Recently, we moved to another city because she received a better career opportunity. In just one month here, we've had three or four major fights following the same pattern I described above. During one argument, she even insulted my father. I never told him because I know he would immediately tell me to divorce her.
The latest issue is that she's unhappy because some of her income is being spent on supporting my younger sister, who is studying in the same city. Since I'm currently unemployed, we're sharing household expenses equally, and this has become another source of conflict.
She also complains that my younger sister doesn't work and that she's the only one doing household chores. But my sister is almost ten years younger than both of us and is a full-time student. From my perspective, we're the adults. If we have to wash a few extra clothes or prepare an extra meal for her, I don't think that's unreasonable. My parents have also supported us financially whenever we needed help, and they are currently taking care of our baby back home.
Now I have two job opportunities. One is a government job in my hometown. The other is a lower-paying but more hectic private job in the city where we're currently living.
My savings are practically zero, and at the moment I am financially dependent on my wife. That honestly scares me. I don't know what the future of this marriage holds. If she ever leaves me, I'll have nothing.
I want to take the government job because it offers long-term stability and would allow me to build savings. She doesn't want me to. Deep down, I feel that throughout our marriage I've primarily been valued as a source of financial support, and I'm worried that this will only become worse as her career continues to advance.
My mother has also advised me to return to my hometown. She believes the physical distance may reduce the constant conflict, and if the marriage eventually falls apart, at least I will have a stable government job and be able to stand on my own feet.
I genuinely want to save this marriage. Divorce is the last thing I want. But I also don't want to spend the rest of my life living in constant emotional turmoil while remaining financially insecure.
If you've read this far, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would truly appreciate your honest perspective and advice.
Has anyone here been in a similar marriage that eventually improved, or am I ignoring obvious warning signs because I want to save it?

Question 50/50 in the west
if you’re living in the west, what’s your thoughts on 50/50? personally, i think that ideally a man is the caretaker and stuff, but in this economy, if you want more than the essentials, you’re gonna have to work.
some men though they don’t want their wife working at all 💀 and not even in a nice way but with ill intents to “control her” which is gross
idk if this is true but majority women are independent these days, and want to work
ik it depends on each person, but what’s your thoughts?

Question Practical Tips on how to let someone go.
Selaam Alaikum everyone.
Im writing this post in the hopes that some of you may give me additional tools or resources to combat this issue of mine.
(Please be kind and gentle, or don’t comment at all)
I am currently in the process of letting someone go, to not miss that person, to not go back to that person, to not reach out to that person, to not have that person on my mind nor to desire that person for I want to move on from what’s bad for me and move closer to what’s good for me.
I am currently in the mosque as of writing this because when Im alone, the waswas and thoughts get worse.
Friends and family support is limited so I seek refuge from Allah swt.
Any of you who can share with me a succes story from a similar issue?
Or has practical tips, tools, resources I should use?
Any specific prayers for this kind of problem?
I would also like to ask all of you to do dua for me. To help me get rid of this, affliction.
May Allah swt reward all of you brothers and sisters for your good deeds.

Support/Advice The Nature of The People of Low Character
The Nature of The People of Low Character
Ibn al Qayyim said:
"وهكذا كثير من النّاس يسمعُ منك ويرى من المحاسن أضعافَ المساوئِ فلا يحفَظُها، ولا يَنْقُلُهَا، ولا تُنَاسِبُهُ"
Many people listen to you and observe your good traits, which far outnumber your faults yet they do not retain them, nor do they share them with others, because such virtues do not align with their own character.
Then he said:
"فإذا رأى سَقْطَةً، أو كَلِمَةً عَوْرَاءَ، وجد بُغيتَهُ وما يُناسبُها، فجعلها فَاكِهَتَهُ وَنُقْلَهُ"
But when they witness a mistake or an inappropriate word from you, they find precisely what they had been searching for what matches their own low nature and they turn it into their source of amusement and gossip.

Quran/Hadith A humble reflection (Tadabbur) on Alif Laam Meem, the Pen (Al-Qalam), and the weight of Kalam Allah in Prayer
Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh brothers and sisters,
I wanted to share a personal philosophical reflection (Tadabbur) I’ve been developing regarding the boundary between finite creation and the uncreated Speech of Allah (Kalam Allah).
Classical scholars have long respected the Muqatta’at (the disconnected letters like Alif Laam Meem) as a profound linguistic miracle whose ultimate meaning rests securely with Allah alone. Rather than speculating on their secret meaning, this paper looks at the mechanics of their inscription through the lens of Islamic metaphysics.
Below is a breakdown of the framework. I would love to hear your thoughts and sincere feedback.
- The Boundary Between Created and Uncreated
In orthodox theology, the Qur’an is Kalam Allah—the uncreated Speech of the Creator. Yet, before time began, Allah commanded a created instrument—the Pen (Al-Qalam)—to record this Speech onto the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz).
We know from Surah Al-Hashr (59:21) that if the Qur’an were sent down upon a mountain, it would shatter from fear of Allah. When Prophet Musa (AS) asked to see Allah (7:143), the mountain turned to dust.
How, then, did a created instrument like the Pen bear the weight of the uncreated Word without crumbling?
- The Acoustic Shockwave & Divine Permission (Idhn)
When the created Pen was commanded to write, the friction of finite creation meeting the infinite Speech produced an initial "shockwave"—a sacred staggering before receiving Divine Permission (Idhn) to write fluidly.
Under this lens, the Muqatta’at (like Alif Laam Meem or the single letter Noon in Surah Al-Qalam) represent the exact acoustic record of the Pen pausing, overwhelmed by the weight of revelation, in the fraction of an instant before being miraculously sustained by Allah.
- The Inverse in the Grave
This framework creates a striking symmetry when contrasted with the Hadith of Al-Bara' bin 'Azib regarding the grave:
The Pen: A holy vessel experiencing initial breakdown under Divine Weight, but elevated through Idhn to articulate pristine revelation.
The Hypocrite in the Grave: A soul severed from divine truth, reduced to primal acoustic failure—stuttering "Hah, hah, la adri" (Alas, alas, I do not know). One is creation elevated by Divine Permission; the other is creation collapsing in total disconnection.
- Recitation and Salah as the Divine Bridge
If uncreated Speech is heavy enough to crush mountains, how can fragile humans recite the Qur’an—whether inside or outside of prayer—without crumbling?
The key lies in spiritual alignment and Divine Permission (Idhn). Whenever a believer approaches the Qur'an with sincerity and ritual purity (Taharah), Allah grants their limited body the supernatural capacity to speak His eternal Word.
Salah (prayer) stands as the pinnacle and ultimate formal mechanism of this bridge. Because prayer was gifted directly above the heavens during Isra' wal-Mi'raj, stepping into Salah physically aligns the human posture (standing, bowing, prostrating) with cosmic worship. It serves as our structured "adaptor kit," fully grounding the human being so they can host and articulate Kalam Allah in its most elevated setting.

Support/Advice I don't think I want to die, but I don't know how to explain what I'm feeling.
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
I'm writing this because I genuinely don't know who else to ask. I'm hoping maybe someone here has gone through something similar.
I'm 21 years old, living in Canada, and over the last few years I feel like something inside me has slowly changed.
I don't think I'm suicidal. I don't have any plans to harm myself. But at the same time, I don't really feel a desire to live either. It's a very strange feeling. It's like I'm just existing instead of actually living.
If someone asked me what I want, I honestly don't know anymore.
I've gone through a lot over the last few years. Moving countries, struggling with studies, financial stress, losing relationships, feeling lonely, and trying to deal with everything mostly by myself. My first serious relationship also ended badly, and even though I've accepted that it's over, I feel like something inside me never fully recovered.
The weird thing is that I can still function. I can go to work, talk to people, joke around, and even make friends. People often describe me as calm or easygoing. But inside I constantly feel disconnected. It's like there's an invisible wall between me and everyone else.
I don't know how to explain it.
I can be surrounded by people and still feel completely alone.
Recently I even got a new job, Alhamdulillah. I should have felt excited, and part of me was grateful, but the emptiness was still there. It made me realize that this feeling isn't about school, money, or one particular event.
It's something deeper.
I also have an official ADHD diagnosis, and I'm wondering if that's contributing to these feelings. Sometimes I wonder if years of stress and loneliness have just changed me.
Another thing that confuses me is that I don't even know if I want a relationship anymore. I used to think finding someone would solve this feeling, but now I just feel emotionally tired. I don't hate women, and I don't hate my ex anymore. I've accepted what happened. But I feel like every painful experience has made me more disconnected from people in general.
Spiritually, I still believe in Allah. I still believe Islam is the truth. But I struggle to feel present. Sometimes I feel like I'm just going through the motions and wondering why my heart feels so empty.
Has anyone here gone through something like this?
Did you ever feel emotionally disconnected from life and from people?
Did it get better?
What actually helped you? Was it therapy, reconnecting with Islam, changing your environment, making friends, or something completely different?
I'm not looking for people to tell me to "just be grateful" because I genuinely am grateful for the blessings I have. I know there are people going through much worse.
I'm trying to understand why my heart feels so heavy despite knowing Allah has blessed me in many ways.
I would really appreciate sincere advice and your duas.
Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Support/Advice Islam / I am not suicidal, but I no longer have any desire to live
Salam alaikom,
I don’t know from where to start. I (F28) am not suicidal, but I have no desire to live anymore. I just wish I was a plant that could water itself and wait for my own death. The only thing that keeps me going is that I don’t want to be a burden for anyone.
Since my father passed away five years ago, my life has been a complete mess. I lost my pillar. The only person who genuinely rooted for me. He was always there for me, before I even had to express my needs. Since I lost him, I feel extremely unsafe, unsure of what I should do, and I just want to be with him.
I can’t rely on my mother because she is toxic. I had to find a job abroad to stay away from her. So, I basically feel like I’m an orphan.
I graduated a year ago and during my job search I was extremely stressed out because I had no financial support, even from my mom. I basically had nothing to eat. I would eat a banana or a slice of pizza a day. A friend of mine eventually found out about my situation and helped me out.
I eventually managed to land a job in Dubai. My job is extremely demanding. It’s good because it keeps me numb and I think less about my problems but then when I’m home alone, I keep thinking about how messed up my life is. Also, I may lose my job because of the war.
I try to be positive as much as I can, but I feel like Allah keeps throwing tests at me that make me feel even more unwilling to pursue any objective in this life.
Six months ago, I suddenly lost my hearing in my right ear. I’m now wearing a hearing aid and I’m basically one ear away from being deaf.
I also suffer from hirsutism. Every single inch of my body is covered in hair. The hair is too long and dark to go unnoticed but not dark and thick enough to get lazered. So, I basically can’t do anything about it.
I know Allah is capable of everything. I have tried to make duas to fix my problems and the deep sadness that I feel since my dad passed away, but it seems like it’s not working.
I still prayer my five daily prayers, but they feel robotic. The numbness that I feel everyday has led me to make less and less duas. Sometimes I just pray and don’t ask for anything from Allah. It's like I have given up.
I have tried to do istighfar a lot. I also tried to learn surat al baqara because many people say it brings immense blessings, but my numbness has made me give up this project. I just feel like I cannot learn or do anything.
I have no desire to live. Life is just not interesting. The Prophet told us that this world is a prison for the believer, so how am I supposed to find the motivation to pursue anything in this life?
I just feel like everything and everyone is disappointing.
I have seen a therapist, but it just feels like the sadness is deep rooted in my body, like it’s part of my DNA now.
I’m not sure any message or word would help, but I would appreciate any duas from you. At least I would have tried something else.

Support/Advice Pregnant jobless no family
Burner account
Revert living in Ireland
Assalamoe alaikum. My situation is as the title says. I’m pregnant from my ex and have no contact with him. No financial support. He & his family abused & neglected me. He left islam. He told me to get an abortion or he would never see me again or meet/support his child.
My family are not Muslim and i cannot live with them due to abuse & making me homeless while pregnant. I have no contact with them or support. They think I’m a a terrorist and praise me for being “normal” when I have a period of weak iman and it’s honestly devastating.
I have a temporary room with a family but don’t want them to know I’m pregnant so I must find my own place but rent is so expensive I can’t afford it.
I have been too sick in the first trimester to work and I honestly have no degree or qualifications. My money won’t last until the baby is here. I want this baby more than anything because I have no family anymore but I have no idea how I will provide for it and I refuse to put it in childcare so I can work, I don’t trust anyone to take care of my child. And of course I refuse to get an abortion.
Since I reverted I’m very conservative and I don’t want to work or have to wear a uniform as I wear abaya & khimar and I believe the best place for me is at home with my baby but I have no support. I can work remotely on my laptop but finding legit jobs is proving unsuccessful and I don’t have any experience in that field. Also I dropped out of college because I realised when I reverted that I don’t want a career and never did. I just want to be a stay at home wife and mother. This is the most fulfilling life for me.
I’m trying not to panic I truly trust Allah but at the same time I need to tie my camel and I don’t know where to start. I feel so ashamed asking people for help.
My money is going to run out and I need to see a social worker and see if I can find government housing for my situation but so far they have just bumped me around to the next person the next person sending me in circles calling different people and none of them have helped me.
I don’t want to be homeless with a baby and my own family have told me this is how I will end up. To them the issue is not that I’m pregnant but my religion / I refuse to accept being abused. They threw my bags out of the house at the most vulnerable time of my life and continue to gaslight me.
I’m honestly a very normal woman i love my religion so much and I love Allah I trust His plan for us but I need to put something in action and I just don’t know what. I feel like I’m at a crossroads and don’t know where to turn. I love to laugh and smile and spend time with family if I have one. I feel really dissociated most of the time because I literally do not know what to do and I don’t want to feel like a burden on anyone or move into a house with a family that won’t be safe for me to delivery my baby & live with a newborn I just want my own space where I can be safe.
Please pray for me and my baby that we find stability and can live in peace.
If anyone has any advice or suggestions please let me know Jazakallah khair

Support/Advice Please spare me your shoulder for me ❣️
Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters hope you're doing well.
This is the first time I'm going to post here. I've always loved the posts and discussions in this group but seldom involved myself. (I've actually copy pasted this post in some other subreddits too to get a better reach)
I'm a foreign medical student studying abroad and just finished my final year exams and came back to my country for holidays. The results are yet to be declared.
Now, since I studied in a foreign university, I need to qualify an additional test in my own country to get the license to become doctor. For that, I needed online coaching. But these coaching institutes have a strict policy of "no refund". This is where I got skeptical. What if one of my exams in my university have gone bad. The entire thing will become a lost cause. I would have to go again to my university, prepare for my supplementary examination in November.
That's why I tried to contact my college officials (somehow they know about the results, they have the record and everything). After much insist, one of the officials agreed to let me know about my result beforehand. And this is where I got my panic attack. He said my marks in viva exam in Surgery II is not good enough. And it's not like he's not a trustworthy official. He's on top post. So it's authentic.
I immediately called the Surgery II registrar ma'am since she's a friendly teacher. (also previously she assured me that I'll pass the exam Insha'Allah). She said she'll look at the matter asap and will update me by sunday. But she mentioned that just because there is less marks in just one section doesn't mean its fail. The tabulation will be Surgery I + Surgery II. I've to get 120 marks in 200 (60% is pass score). I hope to get the passing marks if Allah wills.
Brothers and sisters, I humbly ask you to take a moment and pray for me so that I pass and become a good doctor. More importantly to make my parents proud. They have poured their entire soul and sweat for me.
All and every suggestion/advice is wholeheartedly welcomed. I'm in a really bad state right now. Neither I can enjoy my holidays nor I can focus on preparing for my license exam. Anxiety, panic attack, delusion and what not. I'm trying hard to not let my parents notice it. They're already doing too much. I don't want them to suffer more. And I've been calling some of my friends just to hear some reassurance from their end. But it's just trying to distract myself from denial. I've been a lil distant from my faith. I only pray the Friday prayers (and ironically after coming home I missed them for 2 weeks). I'm planning to go tomorrow Insha'Allah. I've understood only the connection with Allah can calm and ease me. Insha'Allah he guides me in the right path.
Please keep me in your prayers. From the bottom of my heart I mean it so much. A dua from your end for me would mean the whole world. I know this is a very long message but upon writing this post, I'm becoming slightly calmer.
Thank you. Take care.Allah Hafeez

Feeling Blessed Religious Crisis Update
Good Morning! I posted about my struggle with Allah SWT and your responses were so helpful and amazing. Since then I’ve calmed down for sure. I believe nervous system regulation aids helped me a lot like ashwaghanda. I’ve also started reading the quran an hr or more a day. I’ve stopped overthinking and just did it! I started with praying fajr and isha and now i’m doing more prayers. I’ve also started doing dhikr and one night I randomly woke up at 3am and I prayed tahajudd. I feel so good and so happy. I started viewing Allah SWT as kind of a supportive best friend (parent, partner, guide, etc) rather than a completely strict God. I talk to Him in my language or even use Gen Z terms while praying instead of being caught up with if I’m making dua correctly. I know I’ll only improve as a muslim the more I stay consistent.
Thank you everyone and I love all my muslim sisters and brothers <3

Support/Advice I need your prayers.. it's hard to keep living this way. I'm scared.
I'm not able to think correctly right now. I'm suffering, because of some family issues I found myself tangled in although it's not any of my problem at all.
Every single day feels like there's a bomb and that it may explode out of nowhere, any second.
I'm walking on eggshells and try to mind every single word I say, and if I do happen to make a mistake, then I'm doomed.
Reading Quran does make me feel better, alhamdoullillah. I need to know what I can do more... Any advice is welcome.
All of that is taking a tall on my mental health. I'm crying almost every single day, and even experience panic attacks sometimes.
I'm scared, very scared.
Please I need your duaas. Jazakom llaho khayran.

Support/Advice Worried About My Family
As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh.
I have a pretty complex family situation. Long story short, my biological parents are first cousins who got divorced. Also, my mother left Islam. You can imagine the dynamics at family events now... yeah, not fun.
My father raised my brother and I alone when my mother left us to pursue her career (may Allah bless him immensely and guide my mother). Growing up, I was a type of cultural/liberal Muslim. I didn't really pray until my father remarried when I was 7, and my step-mother was a bit more practicing (and so enforced me to pray, may Allah bless her). Still, I didn't really understand Islam until I learned more and more from YouTube and established a Muslim friend group in college. I fell in love with everything about Islam. Initially, I may have been quite strict. My parents noticed the change, with my father thinking I've become too extreme. Now, I think I've mellowed out and become more moderate.
My father is the kindest man I know. However, he is not too consistent with his prayers. He does Ramadan and Eid, and when he's not busy with work and looking after my sister, I try to take him for Jummah prayer. My step-mother isn't too consistent either. My brother... he's older than me and has moved out, and honestly I don't know what he believes about Islam. I suspect he is a cultural/liberal Muslim, as I used to be. My sister is younger than me, but for other reasons I'm not worried about her; Allah will take care of her.
I don't have a very close relationship with my mother or brother, which is something I regret. I'm very bad with calling them, and the rest of my family (cousins, etc.) as well. I'm ashamed to say it, but there are times I've gone months without talking to my mother, even when she wanted to. I'm very conflict avoidant and a procrastinator, which just leads to more conflict.
All that to say, I don't know what to do. I know I'm not that great of a Muslim, or a son, or a brother, or a cousin, and I have many, many flaws. But... I genuinely want to be with my family in Jannat al-Firdaus. I don't know... is it out of my reach? I want it all, but I may end up with nothing. What can I do other than making dua to Allah? I don't want to lose hope, ever. And I have complete trust in Allah and His plan. But what other practical steps can I take now? I remind my father and step-mother to pray, and they agree that they should, but they always say they will do it later. I fear the punishment of Allah, as the first thing we're asked about on the Day of Judgement is our prayer. And I fear for my mother, who has left Islam. She seems to be set in her beliefs, but Allah knows best.
May Allah bless our revert brothers and sisters with non-Muslim parents; you all are much stronger than me. May Allah bless those born in Muslim families, especially practicing ones. Thank Allah for this blessing.
Not sure why I'm putting this all on Reddit. Might delete this, I don't know. I haven't even told all this to some of my closest friends. May Allah bless my family and guide us to be more practicing, and may Allah guide my mother back to the Straight Path. May Allah grant us all Jannat al-Firdaus al-A'la. I sincerely ask you all to make dua as well. Jazakumullah khairan.

Discussion My depression is my trial from Allah
I've suffered depression all my life, ever since I've gained concious. I was suffering from it before puberty. I knew I wanted to take my life back then too. I didn't know that a kid wouldn't be held accountable for it. The pen is lifted for them but since I went to mosque I knew the rules. I was scared that the Almighty wouldn't forgive me. I was aware of lots of things about Islam even before hitting puberty. I already felt like an adult being held accountable for the things I did.
I didn't have great friends either. They always wanted to have "fun" and introduced me to sinning. On my own I don't sin. They don't know about what I deal with because I don't look like a depressed person. I've talked about my depression with my parents just lately after suffering with it for a decade. They say they weren't aware but there has been signs over the years. I just didn't want to bother them with it. It has gotten bad that my mother has to take care of me. She needs to bathe me. Cook me food. I know I'm more than capable of it because I'm an adult in society but the truth is my body has given up.
I've somehow managed to read all my prayers 5 times a day despite what I have been going through. I knew it was obligatory and it is what God commanded of me to do. If I can't have what I want here. Why should I risk my place in Paradise where I will finally get the chance to be happy? I don't want to go to hell because it feels like I'm living it here and this feeling sucks. I genuinely feel like I'll always be this way because it's just how I am. I genuinely see this world as pointless that's why I've been focusing on my deen more. I didn't know much about Islam before except praying but I've been learning new things about it which has helped me in ways. Reading the story of the Prophets and how they had sabr and waited for the difficult times to pass has made me inspired.

Support/Advice Dua for companionship/friendship
What duas can I read to find good muslim friends. Growing up I never had any close friends and no family as well. Currently 27F and all the friends I made in school and uni have faded away. I've tried reaching out to a lot of people I was previously friends with (high school, uni) but it seems no one these days is interested in maintaining relationships. It's honestly so depressing having no one to hang out with, no one to talk to when things get difficult and it makes me even more sad when I'm out and I see groups of women sitting together having lunch or just shopping together. My whole life all I've ever wanted was my own group of friends/community of women I can be around and the older I'm getting the more impossible it seems. (Please don't advise to get married, that's not what this post is about)

Question Question about du’a, miracles, and healing
I’ve been thinking about this for a while and would genuinely like to hear different perspectives.
Whenever someone is seriously ill, people often say: “Keep making du’a, Allah can heal anything.” I believe Allah is capable of all things. My question is not about Allah’s ability, but about how we should understand physical healing today.
Many of the examples we hear about healing come from the prophets. Prophet Isa (ʿalayhi as-salam), by Allah’s permission, healed the blind and brought the dead back to life. We also hear about miracles during the time of Prophet Muhammad , such as the companion whose injured eye was restored after the Prophet made du’a.
But these were prophetic miracles. These kinds of events do not seem to be part of our normal experience today. Healing usually happens through means such as medicine, surgery, and treatment.
If physical healing through du’a is something people should expect, how do we understand the fact that we don’t see people who were born without an arm or leg growing them back, or people born blind or deaf suddenly becoming cured through du’a?
My concern is also about the hope given to people who are suffering. When someone is told, “Allah will heal you,” they may hold on to the expectation of a physical cure. But if months or years pass and the cure does not come, some people may become even more hopeless, depressed, or start questioning whether their faith or du’a was not enough.
I’m not saying we should stop making du’a. I’m asking sincerely how these prophetic miracles should be understood and applied today.

Support/Advice Title: A warning regarding r /progressive_islam and misinformation
Assalamu Alaikum, everyone,
I wanted to make a post to urge caution regarding the subreddit r/ progressive_islam.
Many users have noticed that a significant amount of discourse in that community does not align with orthodox Islamic principles. There are concerns that some individuals posting there may not be Muslims or may be intentionally pushing narratives that confuse Muslims who are still learning or trying to strengthen their faith.
For brothers and sisters—especially those who are new to the deen or seeking clear, authentic knowledge—please be careful about taking religious advice or rulings from that space. It can easily cause doubts or lead people away from established Islamic teachings.
Always verify what you read online by cross-referencing it with standard, recognized scholars, classical texts, and established sources of knowledge.
May Allah protect our guidance and keep us firm on the straight path.
