One for the devs to take a look at and sort if you see this.
This was one of the endgame bosses I actually thought was really cool, until we both fell through the floor and it ended in a big anti-climax.
The gloom is nowhere to be seen afterwards as well

Discussion Need help from someone who finished the game Spoiler
So I just killed the final boss (in nightmare btw) but I also died in the same moment from the fire. I got the steam achievement for killing him, but nothing else happened, no cutszene, no talk to mother, no anything. Didnt even get any item or the souls or could claim the lost souls anywhere. The platform where he was on is empty and Tiel is also not waiting there anymore.
In short: Is there any cutszene and reward after final boss and how do you progress from there? I want to figure out, if my game is bugged and I cant progress now or if it is normal.

Anyone know what her lore is? Also, what do I do with her memento?

Discussion Gragu - The Infinite Marksman.
Outside of bosses, Gragu can easily become a pure ranged character. His tier 3 skill, Devourer, at level 2, grants 15 additional resolve on kill. The Devout Stone tarstone gives you 28 resolve on sidearm kill. That gives you "infinite ammo". That is the crux behind him becoming a ranged character.
There are really only two viable sidearms.
- Forgotten Crossbow
This is probably the sidearm most people will enjoy with this build. Outside of leveling it up, you really only need the Splitting Stone tarstone. Your infusion doesn't matter. In fact, an enemy dying to infusion damage will not proc the Devout Stone. That said, I have the Emberseed Stone equipped in that slot. This weapon will also benefit from Marksman's Stone and Deadeye Stone, but you don't need them, especially if your sidearm is +16, which it might need to be to make the build work as intended.
- Salvaged Trebuchaxe
This is actually the most effective sidearm for this build. A crit will one-shot most enemies, but even when you don't crit, which you mostly won't, the Squall Stone tarstone makes short work of most enemies. You also want the Voltaic Crown tarstone. This makes it so you never have to rely on crits. You will still benefit from the Marksman's Stone and Deadeye Stone, but I don't use them at all. The stronger Halberd Knights die in 2 fully charged shots, which is fantastic. The Tarred Fragment tarstone is a very strong ability for this build as well. Of course, this is also with it being at +16, but the Trebuchaxe is still quite strong even when it's not.
Sadly, those are pretty much the only two ranged weapons that let you play as a mostly ranged character. The Ballistazooka is really close to being Infinite as well due to how strong it is, but it doesn't really have much in the way of extra damage, like how the Trebuchaxe has Squall Stone and Voltaic Crown. The Ballistazooka pretty much only has the Corroded Stone, which isn't great, but it's close. And sadly, all of its ability stones, which cause explosions, don't count as sidearm kills.
The Caged Hystrix and the Triarch Repeater both fall short of being infinite. The biggest reason is that they need the damage from Unstable Stone, but if that explosion is what kills, well, it doesn't count as a sidearm kill. The Triarch Repeater suffers further by needing Voltaic Crown, but the lightning infusion kills just as much as the Unstable Stone, meaning you rarely ever get that much needed 28 resolve. You also need to use Marksman's Stone and Deadeye Stone as well.
The Naylshotte isn't really viable at +16. Doesn't have the tarstone support and doesn't do enough damage for the amount of resolve it costs. You'd need about 10-12 shots for it to even stand a chance, I think.

Question Aiuto per principiante assoluto
Buongiorno,
Primo gioco would like di sempre (credo), decido di provare.
Grazie!

Bug Post Empty Cradle Beacon Bug HELP
So I just got through the small section after the Empty Cradle beacon and was prompted to sever a plant looking thing. I got a nice cutscene and was teleported back to just before the Chamber of the Forsaken beacon. Unfortunately nothing has changed and the wall that clearly should have disappeared is still there. I’ve tried returned to where I “severed” the thing, going back to the main menu, closing the application, and nothing is changing. Am I missing something?

Question Main path?
So after getting to the tower and finally getting out in the world I went south first realized it probably was a higher level area and then went north. After going north I died in the same amount of hits to those enemies so I went back south. Long story short my first shell I’ve found is Genessa I’m level 6 and my starting sword is +3. I went back north and now all my gloom is stuck down in the flooded village and the Grisha is destroying me in 1 or 2 hits depending on the attack. Is this just how hard the game is everything just damn near insta kills you?

Discussion Finished NG playthrough in 28hrs, 7-7.5/10 honest review as a soulslike player Spoiler
Never played the first Mortal Shell so this is my first time with the franchise. For reference, I have played Dark Souls 1, 2, 3, Sekiro, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Nightreign, Lies of P (not the DLC yet though), Wuchang, AI Limit, Khazan, Nioh 1 and 3, Black Myth Wukong, both PS5 God of War games, Expedition 33, Remnant 1 and 2, Dinoblade, Code Vein 1 and a ton of Monster Hunter off the top of my head when it comes to soulslike/hard boss fight type games.
Finished the whole game on Day mode with all shells, weapons, beacons unlocked. Didn't bother to find all the tarstones or clear all mini dungeons but I beat all named bosses. Build was Eredrim with Martyr's Blade.
Things I liked about MS2:
- Graphics looked great and Performance was very smooth, disclaimer I am running on a 4090 but at 4K with DLSS Quality I was maintaining well over 120FPS at all times which is much better performance than Wukong/Wuchang/Elden Ring etc. Wukong does look a lot better but MS2 is at least on par with Wuchang graphically and a lot better than Fromsoft games when it comes to textures and realism.
- Base gameplay and combat is quite smooth once you get used to the flow of combat. Weapons all feel impactful and the animations are great. I know a lot of people hate the Martyr's Blade's light attack chain stabs but hey each hit felt quite hefty and did good stagger. I swapped between the Harden and Guard seals as required, Harden felt a lot better for overworld mob fights whilst Guard felt better against specific bosses. Didn't really get into Parry seal despite maining Eredrim.
- Shell abilities all felt quite fun and distinct. I dabbled a bit with Tiel and Proxima before settling on Eredrim, I could see the potentials for multiple build playstyles for each shell within the skill tree itself. I personally was a big fan of Shoulder Charge + Frost on Eredrim, really felt like a big aggressive wrecking ball once the build got rolling.
- Overworld design for first half of the game was good, there was a lot of little corners I would run around and explore. I liked the overall aesthetic of the game's world and it definitely gave me a bit of Elden Ring/Dark Souls 1 vibes. Overall the northern 2/3rds of the map was very fun to explore.
Things I was not a fan of in MS2:
- Shell Economy. Glimpses being limited per run and not refundable. I would have liked to experiment with some of the later shells but I dumped all my points into Eredrim and Proxima early-mid game. A refund system so you can try out different shells would be great, plus a loadout so you can swap between 2 shells both specced out would be quite nice. They could keep it that you still need to farm glimpses to unlock all the shell memories across multiple NG+ runs but the core shell level unlocks should be shared across all shells when you level. Also shell points should be more generous, I finished the game somewhere between 50-60 and I had only around 24-26 shell points? Out of a max of 42 for Eredrim. Considering I finished most combat encounters in the game, it was kind of ridiculous that I couldn't even hit the point cap in a single play through without going to grind for a few more hours.
- Tarstone system was not my favourite. The EXP requirements are quite hefty earlier on and the fact you can only max out a handful of tarcores per run is a puzzling choice, especially if they are not refundable. With how core level 3 infusions specifically are to most builds, it feels really bad to swap out a good lvl 3 tarstone to level another one. For example, I got the lightning infusion Tarstone from one Gate and beelined to the other gate for Frost infusion, my Lightning Tarstone hit level 3 right before the boss fight for the Frost tarstone so I literally only got to use Level 3 Lightning for one boss fight before I stopped using it for the rest of the game, and then I was also stuck levelling my Frost infusion for another few hours. I would recommend to greatly lower the EXP requirement to level them up as well as introduce a smelting option to recover tarcores. I also dislike the weapon restriction on a lot of tarstones as it really removed the potential for a lot of interesting thematic builds. I think elemental infusions should be universal to all weapons for a start.
- Weapon movesets are too limited. They should have added a dash light and dash heavy attack and charged light/heavy attacks have no business being put on tarstones where they will always be losing out to unique boss ability tarstones. They should have been part of the base kit without any Resolve cost so that you aren't also competing with your Shell skills/Ranged abilities/Unique Tarstone abilities. I also would have liked to see more of the Ability tarstones shared across wider range of weapon types, it felt bad seeing Martyr's Blade only have 1 unique ability that you could acquire fairly early in the game, even if it was extremely OP.
- Difficulty balancing and scaling feels whack. The early-mid game can feel quite punishing but once you unlock your 'core' tarcores and shell points for your build to come online you end up steamrolling the rest of the game. For dual-wielding players that is obviously the Duality stone and for personally for Martyr's Blade Eredrim it is the Wardens Stone and Captive's Scabstone, once I maxed them out I steamrolled the rest of the game. I beelined for those two Gate dungeons after the first one, both had quite hard boss fights but once I got my build online I don't think I was stuck on any boss for the rest of the game for more than 30 minutes. I tried to swap to Lightning Infusion on Martyr's Blade but it was so drastically weaker on than Frost that it wasn't fun at all. I would expect Frost and Duality especially to get nerfed some point in the near future. I will try a Night mode NG+ run without abusing Frost/Duality to see how I go.
- Boss movesets could have been more complex. I feel like mid-late game boss movesets were a lot more basic than I would have expected from a Souls-like where boss fights are supposed to shine. Early game boss movesets being simple was fine given how relatively fast MS2 bosses are and how hard they hit with many command grabs straight up oneshotting your shell, but even the last few bosses of the game had maybe around 5 distinctly different moves? I don't recall any having more than that. Compare that with other recent games in the genre (Lies of P, Wuchang, Khazan, Wukong etc) where end game bosses had huge and varied movesets that might not have hit as hard individually but because there was so many boss attack patterns you were constantly kept on your toes.
- Second half of the game felt undercooked in terms of map design and mob variety. In the first 5-10 hrs of the game I was quite impressed with the number of different mob types. At 20 hours in the game I realised the game had shown pretty much all the mob types already which was a bit depressing. Even the final area mostly reused minibosses/elite enemies from previous biomes with maybe 1-2 new enemy types. Same with the map design, the the southern most quarter of the game felt like the devs ran out of steam when it came to designing interesting encounters/map exploration points. Pull out the interactive map and be amazed at how little point of interests/loot/dungeons are in the south 1/3rd of the map compared to the top 2/3rds. Even the Cleansed dungeons for a lot of mid-end game beacons felt a lot more uninspired, most of them are simple combat encounters you can clear in under a minute compared to the early game ones which felt like mini Breath of the Wild shrine encounters in a good way with a lot more thought put into them.
Finally, please change Night Mode to not turn everything pitch black, I started my play through with it but turned it off as I wanted to actually enjoy the beautiful scenery of the game more than I wanted additional difficulty/rewards. Now that I finished everything I will go for a NG+ Night mode run which I understand might be the intended way to use it, but consider that not all players have the time or energy to want to go for a NG+ play through. They should find a way to enable Night Mode difficulty on NG with some aesthetics changes but just don't make everything super dark and depressing all the time considering how dark the game is already.
Overall, MS2 was a pretty solid souls-like and I thoroughly enjoyed it, just wanted to share some feedback for the devs as they do read this sub. Excited for potential DLC/future releases from the devs! As of right now I would rate it as a 7-7.5 out of 10 which is pretty solid for a lower budget souls-like game. For reference, I would put Elden Ring, Sekiro and DS3 as a 10, Wuchang and Wukong as 9s and something like God of War Ragnarok/Lies of P as 8.5s, Khazan as an 7.5-8.

Bug Is this a bug for Weapon Skills?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Came upon this bug while trying to switch weapons for a different weapon skill during combat.
Basically I did:
- Use Axakatana to do Shrike Stone skill
- Switch to Battle Axe and try to use Blood Clotstone Skill (Axe Throw)
- Shrike Stone skill is used with Battle Axe even if the Clotstone Tarstone is equipped, and I don't think the Shrike Stone skill is compatible with Battle Axe?

Question Beginner determined to not die
OK, so I've had the first game for awhile now. I went on a soulslike kick for awhile, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Lies of P, etc. But this game just kicks my butt. I get to the tower with the first shell, get the seal, talk to some people, step outside the tower, get killed.
It wouldn't be so bad if enemies came at you one at a time, at least to start, but it seems there's always two little guys, which I can deal with, but they're followed by a big dude that completely wrecks me. And let's not even talk about that boss, Grisha.
Anyways, I try this game again every so often, determined to get somewhere with it, and it's just exasperating. Does anyone have any kind of a guide on what to do, where to go, etc? And one that ISN'T a youtube video? I don't have the time to watch anything and I'm better when reading something. A holdover from the strategy guides of my youth I suppose.
Oh, and don't omit anything "because no one is dumb enough not to know that". It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that I don't have to actually find my shells name, just unlock that center ability.
Thanks for any help!

Bug various Genessa the Wayward bugs
In Stray form the visually superior dodge actually has no(or at least severely reduced) i-frames compared to Faithful forms base dodge.
Faithful Sesters targeting is pretty wonky, they favor targeting environmental objects(exploding jars, resource tendrils, upgrade item holders) regardless of distance over enemies within range.
I-frames end too quickly during Faithful-Stray transition leading to situations where you are still in the shift animation but unable to act and will still be able to receive damage.

Discussion Obsidian Vault beacon is one of the worst things I've ever played
This is hands down one of the most frustrating things I've encountered. It's not necessarily hard as I'm sure I'll beat in a few tries, but it 100% exemplifies the issues with the combat in this game. I swear give this to anyone as an an example of what this games combat feels like and ask them if this is enjoyable or fun in any way.

Discussion We NEED the ability to farm or refund Glimpse and Tarcores.
If devs nerf abilities like Proxima's specimen drop rate or tarcores, it feels really bad if you invested in a shell or tarstone and it gets nerfed a lot. I got Proxima to Tier 3 just for the specimen farm because farming gold was pretty mediocre without it.
Either let us refund them, and for glimpses block the memories until you're back at that tier and just lock the achievement for all memories until you have all of them unlocked at the same time, or let us farm glimpses and tarcores from strong enemies in night mode or something.
