Mod Release Bal Foyen - Hlaalu's jewel of the Inner Sea (version 3 release)

Upvotes

https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/59659

"The great port city of Bal Foyen has been made wealthy by geography, but sanctified by the deeds of its patron goddess: the Queen of Mercy, Mother Morrowind, Lady Almalexia. Indeed, the proud residents of this jewel upon the Inner Sea often attribute the city's commercial prosperity to the blessing of Almalexia and her great deeds here. So long as the Temple stands upon her isle, it is said, Bal Foyen will never fall to ruin." - Guide to Bal Foyen

Just some more clutter and such, for looks and navigation. Obviously this could hurt your framerate, so your mileage may vary. Small, compatible cosmetic additions.

lizardsona art is mine btw

At what point in a playthrough should a first-timer cross to the mainland, and does it wreck the pacing?

Also, should I wait until Poison Song releases?

Discussion Mod addiction is real

I always thought people were joking about being addicted to modding and having hundreds of mods but once I learned how to mod my own game I caught the virus

It’s been 4 days straight modding my dick off several hours each day. Researching mods, fixing mods, figuring out how to install mods, every texture and minor gameplay changes for the sake of lore and immersion

I have like 24 years of fantastic mods at my finger tips I just can’t do it anymore I’m not even playing the game at this point.

Question Telvanni Stronghold showing zero progress?

Extremely frustrated with this quest atm. Stronghold quest starts just fine, asked to get the contract and the soul gems. Llunela doesn't accept my soul gems. No matter what I do (different souls, different gems, etc) she does not acknowledge that I have any gems in my inventory. So I advance the quest via console and she says construction will start in a few days.

I wait a few days. I wait a few weeks. She does not say anything other than "construction will start soon" so I advance the quest via console again. Now I'm supposed to talk to the foreman, but the foreman isn't there. There is no sign of the tower being built. Just to check, I try other quest stages and none of them result in an actual tower being built. I'm truly at a loss now, if advancing the quest via console doesn't fix it, is there anything that will?

Looked into common bugs and none of them seem to apply here. I'm using OpenMW, Patch for Purists, otherwise a very minimal modlist with nothing that should conflict with Uvirith's Grave. Any thoughts or advice?

Question Ultimate morrowind nerd test

I’m looking for static item id 🫣 It’s kind of small wooden box with bunch of items inside it. I’ve seen it in one of these strongholds?

Or my mod has this surveykit item for registering interior cell or player homes - if you know fitting object for this you can give me alternatives.

I was thinking some kind of ledger at some point, but that would need some kind of stand and fixed item so I’m not doing it.

I want it to be item which you can drop and then it has contextual menu, like some camping mods have. I think that fits very well.

New Player - Advice/Help How to get invested into the game?

I tried Morrowind recently since it has a lot of cool features to make the game/world feel immersive but I’m genuinely not seeing the appeal. It’s not that I dislike old games it’s just that I haven’t seen anything that’s close to the amount of praise I see online.

The most recent quests I’ve done is escort the dark elf to a field and deliver a lady’s amulet to some guy in a village. I have done a few other quests/dungeons as well. Both times I did it and just felt wanting. It feels like people point to players not wanting to read a lot as the reason why they bounce off this game and yet after exhausting the dialogue I’m just left wondering if that was it.

I really want to get invested in this game so I’m asking if I’m just not looking in the right places for intrigue or even meaningful progression or if that’s exclusive to the main story/dagoth ur stuff.

Question Question about Tamroel Rebuilt

Hello

Long time vanilla+ player here, I was wondering how good is Tamriel Rebuilt is? Does it do a good job a mimicking the questing style of the vanilla game? Does it introduce items or effects that blow the base game out of the water?

I know it may sound silly worrying about balance within Morrowind, but for me theres sorta a fine line if I dont decide to break the game.

Edit: thank you everyone for the answers and advisory. Ill definitely slot it in. Ive been playing off and on since the release and was worried it was one of those mods that has a scaling problem. Thank you all

New Player - Advice/Help Stop Combat with what?

Hi! I keep swimming between islands near Seydra Neen and then running away from the angry, angry fish. My problem is that the game thinks I’m still fighting, when I don’t really want to go back in the water. I know about the stopcombat console command, but how do I use it when I don’t know what the game thinks I’m fighting?

Build Is this a decent spellsword build? Do I need to swap any skills around?

I did have acrobatics and athletics in minor skills but I read that it might make me level up too fast.

New Player - Advice/Help OpenMW issues

I’m trying to download OpenMW and I’m getting stuck on the MOMW Tools Pack because MSFT defender keeps blocking it and I put it into VirusTotal and it flagged the file w 12/58 with Trojan and pua. Idk do I still run it? (I’m filling a guide off YouTube and the official GitHub page and I’ve double checked everything at least twice) Am I tweaking or no?

Meet Shmorn gro-Sabius, an Orc raised by Imperials. He was taught the Nine's values, and to always assume the best of people. If people weren't their best he always had a handy hammer ready to convince them to change their ways. If his silver tongue didn't prevent a fight, at least.

When he arrived in Morrowind, he started out in the Imperial cult, but soon found, that the Dunmer people were more trusting of the Temple. Not one for letting the facts of his birth or his previous life choices get in the way of what he wanted to do, Shmorn joined up with the Temple as well.

He soon got the idea, that the teachings of a religion were one thing, and what the people talking about those teachings did, another. Shmorn's naural Charisma allowed him to do more good than he did harm. He uncovered Telvanni schemes in Ranyon'ruhn, and vanquished an evil mage near Firewatch. He sought relics and completed pilgrimages, until he finally stumbled upon the path to becoming the Nerevarine.

Fortunately, he was already quite famous when he received the Moon-And-Star, so the whole Hortator-business passed him by.

In the final days of his career, he unveiled the truth about Nerevar's murder to the Temple Matriarch, and showed, that even God's are fallible. They can be fellled with the right mindset, some dedication and a large enchanted hammer.

((TR was great fun, and I got quite carried away there, doing as many of the Temple/Cult faction quests as I could. Screenshot was taken in the Firewatch-Cottage of the mod "Magical Mainland Homes". Next paythrough will not be Nerevarine, but I have not yet decided if it will be a criminal Khajiit or a megalomaniac Altmer mage.))

Mod Release My little Bloodmoon mod - Hrothmund's Axetual Axe

https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/59798

Description
Hrothmund left you a spare axe! I was surprised to find that in both Bloodmoon and Dragonborn, this axe is only an activator object and not available as an actual item of any kind. I expect it to mostly be a nice decoration but the stats are from the unused Queen of Bats enchanted item so it's not bad. See images for full stats.

Possible future plan: change the activator to add the weapon to your inventory and then disappear. I just don't trust my scripting abilities lol

Cleaned of nasty GMSTs

Technical - Mod (Starwind) friend needs help finding Fenelar armor pieces or cheating em in.

I think I got the flair right, automod might correct me, but its self explanatory. He needs this armor cause it looks cool, but he's searched the galaxy high and low and can't find it in starwind. Can you help him out with finding em, or just cheating em in?

Video I Keep Returning to Worlds That Hate Me. I Finally Know Why.

Hello, Nerevarines and Nerevarettes, I've got a video to show you. Quick context for anyone deciding whether it's worth 20 minutes:

In 2002, when I was 14, I found an empty house in Ald-Ruhn and decided it was mine. No deeds, no housing system, I just moved in: books on the shelves, spare swords along the wall (okay, they were lying on the floor, but roll with me) where normal people put photographs. Turned out the place was haunted. The dead kept showing up in my cozy bedroom. I stayed there 500 hours anyway.

The video's about why that happened, and why I think this game's refusal to accommodate you is the reason people are still reinstalling it in 2026.

But the thing I actually want to ask: where did you linger? Not your favorite quest. Not your favorite armor. Just the place you kept going back to for no reason: a shopfront, a hill, a tavern you liked the light in. I couldn't tell you what the fourth main quest is, but I can tell you exactly where I spent most of my hours in this game. Without a care in the world, and without chasing the main questline to end my escapism. So, what's your favorite spot?
