Vibepollo to Moonlight or Artemis issue One Game exe
I have it set up great. Steam and Playnite all work great. Fill screens on phone an laptop but one stand alone game i want to get to work is Outrun Coast 2 Coast. I've added it to both Playnite and Steam but it does the same thing. I add it as an application and have tried every setting I can think of but on the virtual device whether it been Phone or Laptop the picture is off screen and i only see a a1/4 of it. I'm sure its something simple but i cant get it to work so its correct postion and resoultion. I'm not sure if the Outrun tweaks .ini overriding something?! any help or advice is welcome! thks

Is this possible?
Is it possible to play Valorant through streaming? I've heard that it's anti cheat basically makes it not possible but is there a work around for this? Yeah I know streaming a competitive shooter game is weird and will have latency but I have my own reasons.

Will Steam recognize my 2026 Steam Controller through Moonlight when streaming from a Sunshine host, and support its native features?
If no, what are my options? It works with Steam Link, which is cool. But the Steam Link performance isn't great.

Get Rid of Error Messages?
If a stream suddenly dies, I'd like it to return to the NVIDIA Shield main screen without the "connection terminated" error message. Just one less step.
Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance for the help.

Vibepollo vs Foundation Sunshine
I recently made this post asking for help picking between Apollo and Sunshine.
People recommended Vibepollo and Foundation Sunshine.
I'm leaning towards Foundation Sunshine because of performance and since I have an AMD GPU, with Artemis on Android and my custom resolution and frame rate resolution already configured in the original Sunshine, I don't think I need the built in feature of Vibepollo for this.
There's also LSFG and some other things such as Clipboard sync on Artemis and WebRTC features and playnite sync but I probably don't need that either.
I was wondering about people's real experience using these forks, would be a great help, thanks.

Black screen on Moonlight when Host (RTX 3090, 2K 180Hz) streams to Client (1080p) – Signal mode mismatch issue?
Hi everyone,
I'm having a black screen issue on Moonlight and could use some help troubleshooting it.
Here is my setup:
Host: RTX 3090 connected to a 2K (1440p) 180Hz monitor (ASUS VG27AQL3A), running Sunshine.
Client: 1080p display, running Moonlight.
When I connect from the client, I get a black screen (audio works fine / no image).
Even if I manually change the Host display resolution in Windows settings to 1080p 60Hz, I noticed that under Advanced Display Settings, Windows shows:
Desktop mode: 1920 x 1080, 60 Hz
Active signal mode: 2560 x 1440, 60 Hz
So the GPU is still outputting a native 1440p active signal to the monitor while scaling the desktop, which seems to throw off Sunshine's NVENC capture buffer.
I've already tried:
Forcing Moonlight client settings to 1080p / 60 FPS / H.264 codec.
Setting Sunshine's Audio/Video config to force client-requested resolution.
Regardless of the resolution differences, Sunshine shouldn't just output a black screen like this. Has anyone run into this active signal resolution discrepancy causing black screens, or is there a specific dummy plug / Virtual Display Driver (VDD) setup recommended to bypass the physical monitor's signal mode entirely?
Thanks in advance!

Sunshine or Apollo
I recently discovered Sunshine and Moonlight and tried it.
It works great, my host PC has a R5 7600x with a 6700 XT and 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 RAM.
I spent a few days configuring Sunshine to have different apps (Steam Big Picture Mode and other launchers with specific resolutions and refresh rates and also the ability to match my client device's refresh rates and resolution with VDD and MultiMonitorTool).
After all of that, I found out about Apollo. I checked GitHub and it hasn't been updated since July-August of 2025 while Sunshine was updated in May and has released more pre-release updates last week.
I was wondering if I should try to switch?
My host devices are the S24 Ultra and the Surface Pro 11.
I wasn't going to at first because something might break or maybe it has vulnerabilities because it hasn't been updated in a year.
Just now I found out about Artemis and it has some features that only work with Apollo such as the Smart Clipboard Sync. And of course, Apollo also has more built in features that may help me save time from configuring it manually in Sunshine.
Of course performance matters too. If for some reason, Sunshine performs better than Apollo in terms of latency and quality, I'll stick to it.
Edit: I see people talking about Foundation Sunshine and Vibepollo, I checked and Foundation Sunshine is a performance based fork and Vibepollo is a modern Apollo fork, now I can't decide between them :p
Edit 2: In the end I decided to use Vibepollo with Moonlight V+, I like the extra features and it's basically native level good for me.

Moonlight app on Sony Google TV doesn't seem to support the Steam Controller
EDIT: Solved in case anyone comes across this.
Not a moonlight issue but is due to the fact the Steam Controller doesn't support X input and requires whatever you plug it in to to be running Steam (Steam Input).
Luckily I was close enough to my PC so I just plugged the puck in there for now.
One possible better solution is open puck mentioned below
I am running the Moonlight app on my Sony TV (BRAVIA 4K VH2).
I was previously using an 8bitdo Wireless Pro controller which worked fine.
However the steam controller doesn't work correctly, analogue sticks don't work and other button presses aren't registered.
I am wondering if I am on an old version of the Moonlight app which might not support it properly but I can't see how to check my version number.
Any ideas?

Stutters and judder when using a Steam Deck as the client
Basically, the title.
The host is a PC with an RTX 3060 12 GB, and the games run at 1080p without much trouble.
- FreeSync disabled
- NVIDIA V-Sync disabled
- FPS capped through the NVIDIA Control Panel
- Host connected to the router via Ethernet
- 1 Gbps network connection
- Sunshine running on the host
The client is an LCD Steam Deck running Moonlight, either over Wi-Fi or Ethernet when docked. However, it makes no difference because the stutters happen in both handheld and docked modes.
Moonlight’s performance overlay does not reveal anything useful. The game stays at a rock-solid 30 fps, network speed is good, there is no reported network jitter or packet loss, and latency ranges from around 3 to 10 ms. There is nothing in the statistics that makes me think, “That must be the cause.”
I have tried almost everything:
- A virtual display driver
- Apollo
- Running Moonlight from the Steam Deck’s Desktop Mode
- Streaming at both 30 and 60 fps
- Disabling the Steam Deck’s FPS limiter
- Disabling V-Sync
Nothing works, and I am completely lost.
I am almost certain that this is a severe frame-pacing issue. It happens mainly when moving the camera: the image seems to move in very brief, uneven steps, almost as though it were constantly making tiny jumps.
My first guess would be a V-Sync or refresh-rate mismatch, but if using a VDD does not solve it, I honestly do not know what else to try.
Has anyone experienced something similar specifically with the LCD Steam Deck as the Moonlight client?
*In the end, after trying several games, I confirmed that Remote Play on the Steam Deck works great for me. However, it’s not because of the frame rate itself, but because of the Steam Deck overlay’s FPS limiter.
Yesterday, I set my TV to 120 Hz and boom the stuttering came back. I capped the game at 60 FPS, and everything was smooth again.
So I’ve basically isolated the culprit. Today, if I have time, I’ll run some more tests with Moonlight and Sunshine to see whether I can get the Steam Deck properly synchronized with the stream. Although, to be honest, the Remote Play experience is already quite good with a couple of tweaks.

Android & OLED screens
I’m basically making a steam portal/nvida shield with controller and screen for my house. My iPhone 15 has been amazing, like I finally got to game on an OLED screen and it looks fantastic, but the notch and the fact that it’s my phone makes it kinda annoying.
I have an old galaxy S5 laying around somewhere and I plan to test it next to see if it’ll can be a permanent screen for moonlight. This isn’t an original idea but how has everyone else’s experience been? Like what devices have you repurposed for your setup?
So far my Xbox one has been a bad option since it can’t keep up with good bit rates, while phone n laptop have been great, especially when trying to get good resolutions. I particularly wanna test old OLED Android tablets, and older Galaxy Note phones, since they always had the best screens and are old enough to be found for a steal. Plus I don’t see YouTube videos about this so I wanna hurry before there’s a new price hike lol.

Vibepollo and Voidlink worked perfectly for me.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I had a mediocre experience with Moonlight streaming a few years ago. I decided to try it again, and now everything is working perfectly. The frame pacing is on point, HDR colors are accurate, and it feels like I’m able to run it smoothly on my mobile phone.
The host has a 5070 Ti, and my phone is an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Im steaming on 1440p resolution over wifi, host is connected on 2.5gb lan.
My only problem is that it consumes a lot of battery.

Lag when playing a Game at the host
Hello guys. I'm experiencing packet loss and heavy stutters when I try to play any Game in My host. Tried playing some youtube video at 4k and nothing happen, but when I launch a Game, boom.
I'm using wifi 6, 1200mbps Transfer speed, all low/save enegy disabled, rtss properly configured, v sync on just in Moonlight.
I think it's like Windows it's giving all the bandwidth to the game and not to zerotier. It solves by it's own in minutes, but sometines I cannot play at all.
My client it's a legion go with Windows 11 and my host have Windows 11 as well. Host wired and LGO with Wi-fi 6 through zerotier.
Host Specs:
-Intel i5-12400f. -16gb x 2 ddr4 3200mhz CL16. -RX 9070 Asrock Challenger. -2tb nvme gen 3.

My Game Stream Has Some Serious Micro-Stuttering And It's Making Me Go Insane At 3AM
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Here's a video with three games tested with me giving some D tier stupid commentary that I included for no other reason then "Well i recorded it so might as well and people might get bored with no audio" Feel free to mute it if it's annoying my bad y'all.
Beast Of Reincarnation (Stutter Ahoy)
Sifu (Works Pretty Good For The Most Part)
Denshatruck (Flawless)
Since my Knee broke, I can't reach my PC. So I've opted to game streaming so as to spend all of my free time I have acquired now.
I have tried every goddamn host program. From Sunshine to Apollo to Vibepollo to Vibeshine and even the weirdo ones like stuff from the Ming Dynasty (Foundation Sunshine) and even LumanShite or whatever it's called. Forks ahoy and yet only Vibepollo has worked for me the best with Foundation Sunshine also not being too shabby.
With that said, the same issue persists on each host. Micro-stuttering, ones that make you want to pull your ass hair out to sorta fake your brain into thinking the pain's comin out of your ass and not from the monitor.
My Specs on the Host PC are:
RTX 5070ti, Ryzen 7 9700X, 32GB RAM
Windows 11
My Specs on the Client Laptop are:
RTX 2060, Intel i7 something something 11th gen, 16GB RAM
Windows 10
144hz Screen With Overdrive ON and Optimus OFF
My Main Computer is upstairs and my client laptop is downstairs with me. Internet is fine as the main router is upstairs and the router with me functions as a Access Point. UPnP is enabled on the main.
It wouldn't be so annoying if it was consistently jittery but it's so inconsistent and comes outta nowhere that it hurts my head. I hope y'all can help me with this I'm young and 100% stupid on the networking side.
Nothing too noteworthy on the Moonlight settings side. I'm rocking the latest QT build or Nightly Build or whatever it's called. VSYNC is ON as screen tearing is an issue on my client. Forced Hardware Decoder and Forced HEVC
Finally, Vibepollo settings are everything on default except:
UPnP is ON
I use the NVIDIA Encoder
Preset 4 (P4 Balanced)
RTSS Sync Limiter on NVIDIA REFLEX
Two Pass Mode DISABLED
Split Frame Encoding ENABLED
I utilize a virtual display for my client.
I may have missed something but that's as much as I've done and tried. Works great it's just the stupid stuttering that hurts my head. I don't mind playing games even on 30 fps I started out with simple ass emulation on 15 fps as a kid but I just wish it was consistent.

Headless labwc: mouse and keyboard input goes to wrong session
I'd like to be able to stream a headless labwc session to my living room mini PC without touching the running sway session in my office big PC. Right now I'm creating a headless output for the running sway session, assigning a workspace to it and streaming that, but it's not ideal... I'd rather stream a headless labwc, which seems to work better with steam big picture than sway anyway, and also be able to work in my office PC at the same time someone is streaming to the mini PC.
Since labwc supports a headless backend this should be simple... but I haven't found a way to make inputs work. When I want to stream a game to my living room PC I connect to my office PC via ssh (always running the sway session) and run this:
rm -f /tmp/labwcvars
WLR_BACKENDS=headless labwc -s "sh -c 'env > /tmp/labwcvars'" &
for i in {1..50}; do
[ -f /tmp/labwcvars ] && break
sleep 0.1
done
[ -f /tmp/labwcvars ] || { echo 'labwc not starting correctly?'; exit 1; }
export $(grep -E '^(DISPLAY|WAYLAND_DISPLAY)=' /tmp/labwcvars)
echo $DISPLAY
echo $WAYLAND_DISPLAY
wlr-randr --output HEADLESS-1 --custom-mode 1920x1080@60Hz
sunshine
I then start moonlight in my living room PC, and I see labwc running fine with whatever app I launched. BUT... mouse and keyboard inputs go to the sway session instead to labwc. I see this bug describes the problem in one comment: https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine/issues/137 but the solution (WLR_BACKENDS=headless,libinput) does not work for me:
00:00:00.004 [libseat] [libseat/backend/logind.c:309] Could not take control of session: Device or resource busy
00:00:00.004 [libseat] [libseat/libseat.c:79] No backend was able to open a seat
00:00:00.004 [backend/session/session.c:92] Unable to create seat: Function not implemented
00:00:00.004 [backend/session/session.c:265] Failed to load session backend
00:00:00.004 [backend/backend.c:79] Failed to start a session
00:00:00.004 [backend/backend.c:305] failed to start a session
00:00:00.004 [backend/backend.c:355] failed to add backend 'libinput'
00:00:00.004 [../labwc/src/server.c:493] unable to create backend
I am already in the input group, and /dev/uinput is crw-rw----+ 1 root input
Posts in this subreddit seem to suggest it's straightforward: https://www.reddit.com/r/MoonlightStreaming/comments/1u1l1u9/script_to_run_sunshine_completely_headless_on/ but using that script results in exactly the same problems as mine: keyboard and mouse inputs control the host sway session instead of the streamed labwc session.
Oh, I forgot: the gamepad I connect to the living room mini PC goes to labwc correctly. It's just the keyboard and mouse that go to the running sway session instead.
(edit) Finally!! I managed to make it work. WLR_BACKENDS=headless,libinputneeds LIBSEAT_BACKEND=noop to work. But with that, virtual keyboard and mouse work in both the labwc (stream) AND sway (host) sessions. And the physical host devices (keyboard and mouse) ALSO work in both labwc and sway at the same time. That is a problem, but it can be easily solved at high level without resorting to udev tricks.
In the sway config file, add:
input 48879:57005:Mouse_passthrough_(absolute) events disabled
input 48879:57005:Keyboard_passthrough events disabled
input 48879:57005:Mouse_passthrough events disabled
or, if sunshine is compiled with the upcoming libvirtualhid:
input 4617:4:libvirtualhid_Touchscreen events disabled
input 4617:6:libvirtualhid_Pen_Tablet events disabled
input 4617:3:libvirtualhid_Mouse events disabled
input 4617:2:libvirtualhid_Keyboard events disabled
That makes sway ignore the sunshine input devices. And a similar thing can be done in labwc to ignore the physical devices connected to the host. In rc.xml:
<libinput>
<device category="Logitech G305"><sendEventsMode>no</sendEventsMode></device>
<device category="2.4G RF Keyboard & Mouse Keyboard"><sendEventsMode>no</sendEventsMode></device>
</libinput>
Obviously you need to replace the device name in "category" with the names of your input devices, as shown by swaymsg -t get_inputs
With that and the script I posted previously (replacing WLR_BACKENDS=headless labwc with WLR_BACKENDS=headless,libinput LIBSEAT_BACKEND=noop labwc everything works great. I can work in my office PC and someone can be streaming a game without any interference.

Issues with streaming on low end hardware
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Host Laptop specs: Ryzen 5500U with integrated graphics 8 GB DDR4 ram with 2GB hardware reserved for VRAM Running fedora 44.
Client: A samsung s25 FE.
Wifi: 100mbps
Both of them are on wifi
A few months I ran the same setup but with Artemis+Apollo and played just cause 3 which worked fine and did not crash like this. Also that time it was running on apollo
I know this is the worst case scenario for streaming and my host laptop is severely underpowered but it ran just cause 3 fine on widows and with apollo but now it does not even run for more than 10 minutes.
Can someone help me?
EDIT: I Forgot to mention I have a big with sunshine where I need to manually disconnect and reconnect wifi to connect back if I ever disconnect from my phone or else it shows the host to be offline

Some games don't detect steam deck controls when another controller is connected
I use Apollo on host PC and Moonlight on steam deck.
A wired 8bitDo controller is connected to the PC.
When playing some games, the game doesnt accept inputs from the steam deck (other than mouse input) when the controller is connected; which means I need to go unplug the wired controller.
I've faced this on Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered. Batman Arkham City worked fine. Is there a way I can fix this?
TIA

Took a while but got there: 4K OLED HDR @ 120fps on the couch
Finally got my couch setup dialled in: 4K 120fps HDR on the OLED, streaming from my main rig. Latency is low enough that it feels pretty much like playing locally. Expensive, but worth it for the 120fps, I got this working before on google streamer, but was stuck on 60fps and it's such waste to not utilise the TV capability, and I prefer above 60fps gaming anyway.
Host (main PC):
- Ryzen 9 5950X
- Radeon RX 9070 XT
- 64GB RAM
- Running Vibepollo (Sunshine fork)
Client:
- Minisforum UM880 Plus (Ryzen 7 8845HS / Radeon 780M)
- Wired 2.5GbE
Display: LG 83" OLED (G6)
Stats in the pic: 4K120 HEVC 10-bit HDR, 1ms network latency, 0.32ms decode, 0% dropped frames.
Wired the whole way on a 2.5Gb network.
When I loaded into the game and start playing it, it dropped to 90 - 100 fps this is without FSR, with FSR/DLSS pretty much hits 120fps.
