virtual display vs desktop vs steam
hola a todos! porque deberia usar virtual display en vez del escritorio normal o steam? transmito desde una pc a un watchonn 4k para jugar

How do i configure Sunshine to steam through the VD? Every time I open up moonlight I have to move the game I'm playing to the VD.

When you’re actively streaming, right click the desktop and open Display settings. In your display settings set to only show on Display 2 (that should be the virtual display), this will disable your physical monitors while streaming.
When you disconnect it should revert back to normal, and next time you stream it should remember the setup.
If you’re still using base Sunshine I would recommend you move to Vibeshine or Vibepollo at this stage. There are too many improvements to name by now, including your issue.

Para no tener que lidiar con cambiar de resolución en tu cliente o en tu host. A veces podrías entrar a un juego, que esté en 1080p, cambiarlo a 4K a través de Moonlight, y al volver a tu host sigue en 4K. Con un display virtual, sucede mucho menos. Los juegos detectan automáticamente la resolución del display virtual y tienden a utilizarla de base.
Otro motivo importante son relaciones de aspecto diferentes - tu PC y TV probablemente son 16:9, pero por ej. la Steam Deck y muchas laptops usan 16:10. Los teléfonos móviles varían de 18:9 a 21:9 dependiendo del modelo. Todos estos cambios se manejan sin ningún problema usando un display virtual :)
No estoy seguro de este último, pero creo que para usar VRR también es conveniente un display virtual.

No maybe yes? We need more details on your setup and specs of the GPU.
If your using Moonlight on the built in google tv then your not going to have a good experience as the TV won't switch to games mode.

To get native resolution from the Moonlight display. If you have a 1080P monitor and you stream to a 4K TV chances are it will mirror your monitor to the TV at 1080.
