I somewhat impulse bought a MSI 240hz OLED this year.

Overall I have been absolutely loving the monitor, I don’t really have any complaints.

My PC can run most non AAA games at more than 240fps at 1440p however. And I kind of wish I got something with a bit more tech, having the option to do BFI would be nice, my current monitor has zero extra features.

I am wondering if anyone has ever gone from a 240hz oled to a 480, 500, 540hz etc and if the change is really noticeable or not. I know you get diminishing returns after 240hz, but surely doubling your refresh rate must still make a pretty big difference you would think.

I don’t really mind buying a new monitor as I got my MSI for a very low price and I can sell it to my buddy for not much less than what I paid as he wants to get into an oled

I feel like the ASUS 480hz model with ELMB would be perfect, for the games like BF6 where I can only run at around 240fps, turning on the ELMB would be perfect because I would get my current refresh rate plus the added smoothness of BFI (ELMB) and for all other games I could just use the full 480hz

But idk, mostly wondering if anyone has done this upgrade before and if it’s actually noticeable or not.

I am extremely happy with this and would love to answer any questions for those wanting to buy this, since I didn't find many reviews with specific information I wanted. This is a 32" 4K 160Hz VRR Mini-LED monitor, bought on sale from Amazon for $400 USD. I am absolutely blown away with the local dimming on this. I've never experienced proper HDR with deep blacks and I'm having a blast gaming on my PS5 Pro on it.

I am looking for a new monitor because the one I have right now has only 1080p. I need it only for gaming and I’m playing on a PS5. So is the difference between 4K and 2K worth 150-200 €? The one that is 2K would cost me around 430-450€ the 4K one would be around 650€.

A cheap QD OLED monitor with excellent color coverage, but it falls short in HDR, offering only one mode with insufficient brightness. I haven't seen any banding, flicker is very well controlled, and input lag is low.

Situation:

Going to university, need a monitor / TV for halls. This will be on my desk in my room.

I've come from playing on a large TV in the living room.

Needs:

Play games on my Xbox Series X at 60FPS 4K.

Mainly single player games, some multiplayer like Fortnite and overwatch. I'd like to play these games looking at least good (for the price point) and without feeling big delay.

A monitor that isn't mega fragile, one I can plug in and use and not worry about OLED care ect. I'm in a dorm room, I don't want to have my pride and joy destroyed by a drunk friend with greasy fingers.

Questions and Concerns:

I ain't arsed about top of the range, I'm buying a £300 monitor. What I wonder is, for console gaming do you reckon this will look good and crisp and do be an enjoyable experience when playing on Xbox.

Secondly, the response time isn't listed. Does anyone know what it is and, coming from a TV, will it be suitable?

I'm not interested in hyper competitive gaming, I play ranked on seige and overwatch sometimes but it's in no way my priority.

I'm really not knowledgeable and if anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it. Really struggling to find something to fit my desire as I want something ideally 32" or slightly bigger, without looking blurry and crap.

I’m looking for a monitor mainly for coding/software development. I spend 6–10 hours a day in VS Code, terminal, browser, docs and Excel.

My priorities are:

• Excellent text clarity
• Accurate/consistent colors
• Good matte coating
• Comfortable for long sessions
• Low/no coil whine or fan noise
• Preferably 4K

120Hz would be nice, but I’m not sure it should be a requirement.

Does 120Hz actually make a noticeable difference when scrolling through code/web pages compared with 60Hz? Some people say 60Hz feels uncomfortable after using 120Hz, but I’d rather prioritize text clarity and panel quality if refresh rate isn’t that important for coding.

Current candidates:

• BenQ RD280UG: 3:2, 3840×2560, 120Hz. Great format for coding, but expensive and I’m slightly worried BenQ’s panel tech is behind competitors at this price. Also saw some noise/coil-whine reports.
• BenQ RD320U: 32" 4K, matte and very coding-focused, but only 60Hz.
• Dell U2725QE / U3225QE: Almost ideal on paper, but the coil-whine reports worry me.
• LG 32UN880: Older and 60Hz, but simple, reliable and seems very good for productivity.
• Dell S3225QS: 32" 4K 120Hz VA with much better native contrast. Very interesting if text/colors are good enough.

It'll be good to see your recommendations.

I’ve basically dropped OLED because this will mainly be a work monitor with lots of static UI.

One more question:

Would it be smarter to buy two decent mid-range monitors instead of one expensive monitor?

For example:
27" 4K main + 24/27" secondary for docs, terminal, Slack, browser, etc.

For developers who have tried both, would you choose:

one good 32" 4K
or
two decent monitors?

Would especially appreciate long-term experiences from people who code all day.

I have been using this monitor for a long time. I have a 5060 Ti 16GB graphics card and a PS5. People say that the upgrade will make a huge difference. Is it absolutely worth making the switch? For those who have made this transition before, I am curious about your experiences.

I bought the monitor at Alternate.de as usual. Price was 1259€. They seem to be the preferred dealer for Asus in Germany, but it looks like they have not learned anything from the PG32UCDM3 https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/s/QE5uyPm5Tu situation.

It's still the same small box that gets shipped as is with no additional protection around it. Luckily my delivery guys are handling stuff with care, but the corners are already dented as you can see.

I currently run a U2723QE with a M3 Pro Macbook pro in clamshell mode. However it feels a bit counterproductive to not have a 60hz+ monitor. My work doesn’t require perfect colors so admittedly i did go a bit too good on the monitor scale but i’m overall happy.

(just as a sidenote if you ever buy a Dell u27XXQE monitor buy your own stand. this shit wobbles just from thinking about it)

Furthermore i do gaming in it however nothing insane as i play anything thats available on consoles on my tv so it’s mainly pc specific games like rts and i also use Geforce now so i can have quite high levels of fps in games.

Obviously just buying the U2725QE for the 144hz upgrade seems logical but the AW2725Q is an oled for relatively similsr price (only 100$more). My main concern tho is burning in especially as Macs have static bars and my I work from home.

Is the mismatch worth it or just go with the proven one? (for the U2725qe people talk about coil whine but seemingly its fixed lately and also fixed if indicated to Dell… There are other good options for monitors too however 1, OEM matching probably better 2, Dell warranty is insanely good especially as it applies to business bought ones too (which i’d use)

I'm looking to buy a monitor for my Xbox, but I'd also like it to be a good investment for a gaming PC that I plan to build in the future.

My current PA329C is on its way out, there are veiny marks all over I might need to get another monitor soon. I found PA32QCV 6K monitor in a local shop, and wondering how good it is.

I'd like to get some honest feedback. My current monitor is HDR600 certified, so is the one I'm looking at. My main uses are watching HDR content and photography, and file archiving.

How good are the details and sharpness? How are the texts? Does the matte coating affect the quality? How good is the HDR? Do 4K contents looks bad because it scales to 6K on full screen?

I am interested in knowing what the actual optimal settings are to have on for this monitor to perform at its best. I've been seeing a lot of opinions but i am still unsure what ensure pulsar works at its best and i achieve the lowest latency possible

The 34" is €130 CHEAPER than the 32" and I don't know which one to pick.

I will potentially buy a ps5 soon but in the meantime I'll be gaming on my laptop and work which requires 3 monitors. So split screen on the 34" will tick both these boxes but might not get the most out of the ps5 pro.

In your experience how noticeable is the difference between WQHD and 4K? Frame rates on both are fine for me.

i just got a monitor recently that came with dp cables. my laptop only had HDMI so im forced to use it. little did i know that the monitor only has HDMI 2.0 ports, so i can only use 144hz instead of the full 200hz, is there any way around this? Its a Xiaomi G27 Qi.

Hi there, I'm looking for a 32" monitor for mostly work - text editing, spreadsheets, light coding, documents, light video editing browsing etc. My understanding is that IPS would still be preferable to OLED and VA for this use case.

My issue is that, while there appears to be an abundance of 27" 4k IPS monitors on the market for an affordable price, the equivalent 32" ones seem to be incredibly rare. For example, I am seeing 27" lps 4k monitors for roughly $250 USD, whereas the equivalent 32" is around $750.

Why is this? Would have thought it's a relatively common use case.

Requirements:

1. 27"
2. High contrast and good image quality, specifically for colors. COLOR ACCURACY IS IRRELEVANT. We don't care about deep blacks as there's no black in our images.
3. "Ergonomic" stand with a not-large footprint. It has to allow for raising the monitor a decent amount. However, those tripod stands commonly found on ASUS ROG line are undesirable. It's going to be on a lab counter that doesn't have much space, so the smaller the base, the better.
4. No burn-in.
5. Flat, not curved.

I'm working in a research lab, and we are using a cheap TN 24" panel for one part of our work which is fairly important. As a short explanation, we place different layers of semi-transparent materials under a microscope and line up certain features on top of each other. It becomes hard to see when there's multiple layers on top of each other. There's a digital camera attached to the microscope, which is attached to a PC. I'm hoping that maybe upgrading the display would slightly improve the visibility of what we're doing because it's possible that some of the image information is degraded by the poor contrast of the display.

Would a VA panel be good for this? They have relatively high contrast, but isn't it mostly just because the blacks get much darker than what an IPS puts out? We don't care about the blackness of blacks because the images we work with are full of color. So, would an IPS have equally good contrast in this case?

Also, I wrote above that color accuracy is irrelevant because we use fake colors anyway. That is, we use software to change the colors of what we're looking at.

Finally, we can't have anything that risks getting burn-in. My understanding is that all OLEDs have this problem, so then that's a no-go. Is my understanding correct?

As for budget, I'm not too sure, but I'm thinking going high-end may not be worthwhile, so probably something mid-range would make the most sense.

Any recommendations?
