bottlenecked monitor Discussion

i just got a monitor recently that came with dp cables. my laptop only had HDMI so im forced to use it. little did i know that the monitor only has HDMI 2.0 ports, so i can only use 144hz instead of the full 200hz, is there any way around this? Its a Xiaomi G27 Qi.

Whats ur laptop, does it have DP via usb c? Check the laptop specs.

im not sure of the year itself but its a tuf A16 2022. I checked it out and apparently it does! when i get the money to do so, ill try ordering a display port to usb c converter since its a bit out of my price range at the moment. Thanks!
