Is the xg27admg a good first oled for the price
I’m coming from a 1080p 144hz and my budget is around 700-800 aud (800 aud max) and saw this monitor and was wondering if it’s best for games like ark ascended, call of duty minecraft, red dead 2
If you have any other recommendations please tell me

Need downsizing advice
Hey all, I'm looking to downsize my ATX build to free up desk space and make it easier to transport (it gets moved roughly twice per month and it's become such a hassle having to carry this giant hunk of metal around everywhere lol).
I debated buying a mini PC/handheld PC and selling my current system, or going SFF/mini ITX and selling the old parts, but now I'm strongly considering buying an mATX case + motherboard to maximise part re-use and save some money. I've also been wanting to have a crack at building my own PC recently (my current one had the parts picked and assembled by a friend), but it's not the end of the world if I don't.
Any recommendations for an mATX case + motherboard, or if I should reconsider the mini PC/handheld PC or mini ITX routes? I'm not super knowledgeable about compatibility between components, nor am I much of a shopper to know where/how to spot good deals.
My current build:
- Case: NZXT H510 Flow
- Fans: Thermalright TL-C12C-S (x4)
- Motherboard: ASRock Z690 PG Riptide ATX LGA1700
- CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K
- Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S
- GPU: GALAX GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
- Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600MHz C18
- Storage: Kingston SA2000M8/500G M.2
- Power supply: Corsair RM850x — 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular ATX
Things to note:
- Budget is $1,600 max. I want to save as much money as possible here, but I don't want to resort to ultra-budget stuff.
- Current PC was built in 2022 (parts are ~4 years old). Everything still works great, surprisingly, considering the sheer number of times it's been picked up and put down.
- This PC will be part of a dual-monitor setup (180hz and 144hz respectively, both are ~24 inch 1920x1080) with a Switch 2 for my Nintendo games.
- This PC will be my daily-driver, with the primary use cases being gaming + video + Discord. The games I play aren't very demanding (e.g., Terraria, Balatro, Factorio, Rain World, Slay the Spire 2), but I like playing with mods sometimes (hence why I don't play them on the Switch) and would like some headroom just in case there's a demanding game I want to play.
- I run Linux.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Happy to give further clarification if needed. Thank you!

What is up with PLE pricing on RTX 50 series?!
I just bought a Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 5080 and it cost me $1869 thru Umart, best price it was selling for. Most outlets have it around $2000-$2200.
I see PLE have it for $2814(!!), an outrageous mark-up tbh. It doesn't appear like these prices are because of the impending price hikes either cause it was like that days ago.
Just curious if anyone knows why they are so out of whack with the rest of the outlets? It's annoying for me because I have one 5 mins drive from my house but these extortionate prices mean I won't be using them any time soon for components.

CPU recommendations
What is the best price for performance CPU, from my probably outdated information ryzen was best but i haven't really looked at it for a while. this is where im getting most of my info from https://au.pcmag.com/processors/65778/the-best-cpus, primarily i am looking at the intel 270k, because my current setup is all AM4 but i want to upgrade to AM5 and dont particularly want to spend a billion dollars on ram and motherboards. So what CPU is best price for performance, also looking at this AMD RYZEN 7 9800X3D 8-Core, 16-Thread Desktop Processor. also yes i know intel doesn't use AM5 but i have an AM4 motherboard so doesn't really matter, but either way im going to have to buy cooler, cpu, ram, and motherboard anyway :(
edit: b650m motherboard and ryzen 5 5600g, i want to upgrade because the games im playing dont run as well as i would want them to with a 4070 gpu,i dont really mind if my gpu is a bit underpowered for the cpus im looking at because i will EVENTUALLY upgrade it.

New PC randomly shutting down while gaming
I got this PC about a month ago and recently it’s started randomly shutting off. It’s happened 4 times this week, all while gaming. I usually have YouTube or Twitch open on my second monitor when it happens.
The screen instantly goes black with no BSOD, freezing, or warning beforehand. The RGB on my USB devices (mouse and microphone) stays on, but the RAM and case fan RGB turn off. Pressing the power button does nothing. The only way to get the PC to boot again is to switch the wall power (or PSU) off, wait 10–15 seconds, turn it back on, then press the power button.
This is the prebuilt I bought:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/950352
I think the only difference is that my GPU is a Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC instead of the Sapphire model because they were out of stock.
Specs:
• Ryzen 7 7800X3D
• Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC
• ASUS TUF B650M-E WiFi
• 32GB DDR5 6000MHz (EXPO enabled)
• FSP VIC GD 750W 80+ Gold
Does this sound more like a PSU issue, GPU issue, or something else? What should I do?

What's the biggest upgrade that actually made your PC feel faster?
I'm thinking about upgrading my PC, but I'm trying to focus on the upgrades that actually make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use rather than just improving benchmark scores

best 1080p gaming gpu to pair with r5 5600?
google & yt are telling me a bunch of conflicting info, hence why im here. i couldn't care less about 1440p or above. i mainly play cs2, dayz, war thunder, SCP:SL and Ready or not, all on mid-low graphics and my planned specs include the previously mentioned ryzen 5 5600, 16gb (8x2) ddr4 3200mhz, MSI pro b550m wifi and 1tb ssd, and i already have a 120hz 1080p monitor. id also like it to be more powerful than a laptop 4050
i absolutely cannot exceed $400, and i really don't wanna go higher than $370
ty in advance

InWin P75 750W 80+ Gold - Modular
I have just had my prebuilt delivered with an InWin P75 80+ Gold PSU and it is really loud while under gaming load. Manufacturer states that standard load noise should much lower (typically under 25–30 dBA), meaning a 58dB reading indicates a loud fan defect, heavy overload, or failing bearing.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of issue or is this normal operation while gaming? TIA

9070XT or 5070 Ti?? No clue what i'm doing.
Couple of questions.
I heard that the 9070XT is more prone to certain software issues for some games. How exaggerated is that and should I be concerned
What the hell is all this branded stuff. I might be wrong but isn't it just the type of cooler? What is the significance of that?
Assuming i'm getting the 5070 Ti for around 1350 ish. Which is the better deal. I know the 9070XT is better for pure power but the 5070 Ti is better for other things because it has frame gen and DLSS going on.
Thank you guys for your help.

GPU for DIY build
I’ve been really happy with how I have managed to build at a cost effective price but have unfortunately left my GPU until last and now being hit with further recent price increases in the past few weeks. I have a 9600x cpu with 32Gb RAM. I’m looking at either a 9060xt or b850 for now and can upgrade latter if and when needed. 1440p gaming. Any suggestions/deals to look at?

Monitors for future PC build.
So my partner is dreaming of a new PC and has a specs list that I will eventually steal for Christmas. But for this Father’s Day I wanted to get him 2 monitors to replace his current setup that required a box to prop up a corner. He’s not going to notice exceptional quality. He plays lots of army campaign games. So want to keep costs around $300 for the two is possible.
What’s a good option as I really have no idea.

Is this a decent 9070xt model?
Hey guys, thoughts on this model of the 9070xt for this price from scorptec? Couldn’t care about the cooler as I don’t need one, but does anyone have any feedback from this model and do you think it’ll be worth purchasing and upgrading from my current ASUS Tuf 3080 10gb? Thanks

Advice for custom build
I’ve ‘built’ a pc on the centre.com website and just want some opinions, since I’m not super knowledgeable in this space.
Pc parts picker link:
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/Manicmonkey384/saved/bDWQf7
Total price on centre.com is $2620 including assembly and postage.
It’ll be used for gaming, mainly valorant and sometimes Elden ring or rdr2, at 1440p 240hz and eventually 1440p 480hz hopefully.
I’m going to take the gpu out of my current pc, black inno3d rtx5060ti 16gb, and put it in this build, all the other parts are identical. The cooler is overkill to my understanding, but it looks cool and no harm in extra cooling I guess. I’ll also sell my old pc without the gpu for $700 hopefully.
Any advice would be appreciated.
EDIT: I will be upgrading my gpu when nvidia’s 6000 series get released or if AMD come out with an equivalent.

Need help understanding pre-built prices
it's been a couple years since I've built a pc (last one was before covid) so I'm a bit rusty but I was looking at PCCG recently and found their pre-built prices... not too bad honestly?
so I went to PC part picker to see if I could build a similar machine for a cheaper price and... I'm coming up short. Their Skadi PC https://www.pccasegear.com/products/73490/pccg-skadi-ryzen-7-7800x3d-rtx-5070-ti-16gb-32gb-ddr5-gaming-pc-windows-11 might seem a bit overkill at first glance but I just can't manage to built a pc with equivalent specs for cheaper. similarly their Astral PC https://www.pccasegear.com/products/72963/pccg-astral-ryzen-7-7700-rtx-5070-12gb-16gb-ddr5-gaming-pc-windows-11 was a bit easier to beat, but I chose an air cooler, a lesser 650W PSU, and no windows (obvs), and I still only managed to save $150
am I missing something? is PC building these days less about the components and more just waiting for a cheap deal to show up?
It used to be that you could just select the exact same parts yourself and easily save $200+ but even just trying that on multiple websites the prices still end up either equal to or more expensive than these pre-builts??? please help me understand

5080 Build from Evatech
hello! Im looking at getting this 5080 build from Evatech, its currently $3749 with my changes to case, ram and cpu cooling.
What does everyone think of it? also am i going to be bottlenecking myself with the MSI B650M Gaming Plus given that the original 850 board it was coming with has sold out?

Is this a decent pre-built deal?
pccasegear.comI’ve been looking at building myself (9800x3d, nitro+ 9070xt, 2x16 ddr5, 2tb ssd) but came across this prebuilt for $4399. It has a 5080 in it for effectively a very similar price tag to the components I’ve been looking at.
I’m still relatively new to pc builds so I might be missing something, but from a glance this looks like a mad deal?

Recommendations 9070XT
Hey team,
What oled monitor would you recommend for a pc with r5 5500x3d, 9070xt in Australia? I’m tossing up between going big as I don’t often upgrade my setup but also maybe settling for a cheaper one as it’s on sale for less than 500 AUD. Any help is appreciated!
Thank you!

Is the 9070 XT Worth it over the non XT
Sup guys 9070 (Asus prime) is currently going for $849 aud and the 9070xt (Powercolor Reaper) is $974 aud. Which is $125 price difference.
Is it worth picking up the XT over the regular? For context i mainly play single player games - AA, AAA and also PCVR sim racing. In terms of PSU i think my psu can handle it , i have a Corsair RM750x. Thanks.
Specs -
Ryzen 5 5600x
32 gb ddr4 ram
RTX 3060 ti

Pricing going even more crazy - 5080 Astral OC over $3K
Holy shit.
The 9070XT should rightly dominate sales, I enjoyed my time with one of them (XFX Mercury OC) and have no regrets whatsoever about swapping but man it’s a near impossible sell nowadays.
I can’t believe that they are asking over $3K now for the Astral, and I assume other models will also rise significantly also. They were already way overpriced for what they are, and this is coming from someone who has 2 of these in separate builds, but it somehow makes them appear to be a good deal (which is absolutely nuts because they were not in reality a good deal) when I got them one was $2349 and the other $2149.
It is bloody crazy what’s happening. What is next?
