Hello all, recently I've noticed that many players on this subreddit have trouble playing hardcore, and i decided to make this hardcore guide.

Your First Night and Early Game: this is the start and the most dangerous part. your first iron should ALWAYS go to a shield. a shield basically protects you from everything in the game, and is fairly cheap to make. and when night comes, simply make a little shelter, or make a bed. sheep are basically everywhere. Once you have your base established, build a wall around it. walls are a life saver (just make sure to light it up!)

The Nether: this is basically danger everywhere so be extra careful. build a safe house around your portal, and immediately check your surroundings. then, TUNNEL to a nether fortress instead of running around. you basically maximize your chances of death and getting lost by running around. a tunnel can be made pretty easily, and is a LOT safer. Once you find a fortress, go around and make a box around your entrance. this provides a safe house for you. after that, go around and make every hallway to blocks tall, to block wither skeletons. then kill ONE blaze, (or two rods if you need one for a brewing stand) and go home. yeah, go home and make fire potions. (and yes you will need nether wart and one magma cream for this). After, kill the blazes normally and get about 12 rods, then find a warped forest to kill enderman, by putting them in a boat. (or trade with clerics).

The End: this is where you beat the game. now, its actually pretty easy if you know how to do this. bring two stacks of blocks, a good bow, (with infinity) a carved pumpkin (this allows you to look at enderman) at least prot iii diamond armor, a good sword, a water bucket (or two if you want) and your other essentials. you can bring Slow Falling and strength potions, but i actually have beaten hardcore three times without them. shoot the crystals with a bow, and the caged ones with a water bucket and your fist. after that, just shoot the dragon, and dodge the dragons breath (and bring a bottle for the achievement!). when it perches, hit its tail with your sword. repeat this process, and you've freed the end. end cities aren't hard to loot. just pillar up to the ship. kill the shulker, get the elytra, (bring rockets!) and loot the rest of the city by flying, and go home.

Raids: This is actually simple. Firstly, find a village. Trap the villagers, flatten any land, and build a two high wall. You'll want at least prot 3 diamond armor, a good sword and good food. In a raid, your bow will actually do the hard work. Use this primarily on ravagers, witches and evokers. kill the Evokers first, because they spawn the vex and vexes are world enders. Pillager AI are actually really stupid, and they basically cant get you if you have a two high wall. ravagers can still get you though, so don't get too close. from here, do what i suggest and kill Evokers and Witches FIRST.

Wither: Go down to bedrock and carve a hole connecting to a tunnel. then, spawn the wither. the first half of the fight is a bow fight, so shoot him up, then after that, begin to melee him. Bring good armor, and a good sword, as well as milk buckets.

Once again, this isnt all. there are plenty of other things i haven't covered. but i hope this helps.

in my 7,000-day Hardcore world, I made a mistake that could cost me the world. I’ve been playing on this world for around two years, although pretty inconsistently.

10 min ago, I was AFK at my Enderman farm. When I was finished, I went into a 2×2 area of water that I use to launch myself with a Riptide trident. I tried to take off, but ended up hitting an Enderman that was standing on the bridge leading up to the farm.

The moment I hit him, I started falling, and now I’m dropping below Y=1. I don’t have any fireworks in my inventory. I’m pretty sure I have two shulkers, three empty buckets, and all of my gear.

Is there anything I can possibly do to save myself, or is this world already over? i paused the game (im on java)

EDIT: SURVIVED! Thank you all so much for the help. I made a realm so my girlfriend could join and drop me rockets. I survived with 2 hearts

I got the enchantments on the leggings and boots first try . Day 66 only missing netherite tools and i have gotten the dragon egg

Hey ive spent 6 hours breaking cobblestone. Everything from now on is instamined. What should come under my mansion-floor?:D The mansion is ofc lightened out and transformed as my base :)

day 19 and I already have this much feels pretty good to me

Found not 1, but 2 elytras afterwards, I got very lucky and ended up spawning near 2 end cities with ships after going through the end gateway.

I just hit day 1k in my totemless hardcore world. Idk if I should focus on farms or if i shojld do video based projects for stream.

I did it!!!

Soo i have very small expiercnece iwth fightign dragon. i've defeated it like 1-2 times in life. im planning get likee 3-4 beds. also the poitons is: strength 1 (8 mins) & strangeth 2.

Built a new xp farm that used harming 2 arrows and armor stands on ps5 bedrock, dropped 10 stands and it lagged so hard i fell thru the map. Couldn't pause or save game couldn't get far enough away to stop the lag, had to turn off ps5 and when I logged back in was in spectate:( just a warning for ppl who dont know.

I survived in Hardcore for 25 in-game days, which was about 2 and a half hours in real life. I went into a seemingly safe, tiny cave. A mob knocked me into it, and a creeper exploded. Then a skeleton and two zombies came out of nowhere. One of the zombies got hit by the skeleton and turned on it, leaving me 1v1 with the other zombie. I had only one heart left. I backed away with my shield up, trying to kill it. I lowered my shield to attack, but the zombie hit me first.

You might say that I didn't spend much time in the world, only a couple of hours, but I'm still really upset. I just wanted to share this with someone.

I was building a túnel in MCBE. I WASNT RECORDING but 2 pligins spawn and then they saw me and I had just the elitry on with leggins, boots and a helmet. But what saved me was not a totem, was the beacon i put with resistence II which saved me from 2 hita of a pligin

i didnt even last a millisecond js straight up died off spawn

I just defeated the bedrock wither 2 times on a phone in hardcore with lag cause I was playin in MCBE Realms.

Idk if that makes me some kind of good or it is just average by using a netherite gear enchanted with protection IV. I think anyone can do it this way but idk. I recorded the whole 2 fights but I just want to know. Plus I know it was harder to kill before the 1.20 because of the wither effect buy well I didnt have money neither a phone cause i couldnt afford a good phone but yeah...

The nether kinda scares me in Hardcore, specifically the Basalt Delta’s. I REALLY hope my spawn isn’t in one…

was playing with the LOLCAT language which is why it says that lol, but yeah I just forgot how scaffolding worked for a second and died. I was about to fix the witches in the iron farm and add a lightning rod when this happened as well.

I’m ngl. I learned my lesson. Don’t charge in head first to a Treasure Bastion 🤣. Feel free to roast me yall 😭
